Graham McCallum

The only thing to discuss is how the fuck is that referee one of the best in the country

chris smith

The most ‘deliberately’ inept refereeing performance since peak Clancy … I give you David Dickenson

Billy Forrester

Very good performance today despite atrocious refereeing yet again. Lundstrum best player on park today by a mile, strolled it. Get him signed up asap Bring on them bastards next Sunday 💪💙

Latimer

BBC Scotland need Ibrox access removed again whilst they continue to employ Stewart.

Gregg

Had to switch it off after game - he was raging about the encroachment!!!

Gregg

Never seen so many drop balls in a game. Not sure of of the encroachment rule as mind Napoli scored after missing a pen and got a retake

Alan Shaw

Once or twice is a mistake but that brings a whole new level of ineptitude

James duncan

Could you ask Alex staff were he seen the hibs player heading the ball at the penalty

Latimer

I've only seen the short clip on BBC live feed when the pen was given that was bad enough. The guys a fkn tool and rangers fans are licence fee payers too.

Andy sawers

Bit optimistic if you think we'll get a penalty next week lol

Ross

Good listen. I’m not a Dessers fan but I agree he played well today, he’s scored more in other games but I thought that was arguably his best all round performance this season. Disagree re Lawrence, who I am a fan of and who is usually a good sub….i thought he was very poor.

Gordon Mitchell

It was a weird game. Slightly worried how open we can be in midfield and how daft we defend certain situations. Need to up it for next week.

Gordon Mitchell

For the pen - its not so much for an elbow but just a foul as he missed the ball by about 2 feet and took Soutar right out. It's just a foul and would be a foul anywhere on the pitch. Jump to header ball and miss it by miles and smack right into a player is a foul.

8luenose1872

Borna is a liability. Sterling is definitely the better option if ridvan is out. The way he tucks in to make it 3 marking one in the middle and leaves the left wing wide open with a free player who can run into the box with ease coz borna is far too slow to get out to them.

8luenose1872

Ur correct with saying wright should have scored that early one. If he hit it with more power it was a definite goal. His side foot shot was far too weak.

Ross Fisher

Penalty all day long dangerous play

8luenose1872

The one when Sterling won a header fairly that went to Lawrence who was running into the box was unbelievable. All opposition teams need to do when we look dangerous is hit the deck holding their head and that muppet will give them the ball.

8luenose1872

He definitely looks like a cheat. I tend to think they are just pish but he was on another level and it seemed only against us.

Corpse Reviver

How did you fit 5 heavyweights into a Nissan micra?

Colin Mathie

We simply must win next weekend, no excuses.

Doug

The whole “you can’t play Borna vs Celtic” narrative really gets to me as it is a totally one sided argument. Yes, Borna can be caught at the back post. Yes, sometimes he tucks in too much. If he was the world’s best defender he wouldn’t be in Scotland. Over his career though, he’s better more often than he’s not. More importantly, the narrative completely ignores that he is second in the squad for Goal Contributions vs Celtic. He’s had his moments vs them & easy could do again. Yilmaz is the future, especially for how we set up now. But Borna can still contribute this season. Indeed already has by setting up the League Cup winner.

Lewis

Absolute fear at the thought of Dessers taking a penalty against them!

C. J

We are wide open because Barisic covers straight lines and we’ve become used to Ridvan tucking in. Sterling filled that inverted role so well and showed how limiting Borna is. He’s simply too scared to take risks and move into spaces. We need Sterling in that inverted role to pack the midfield against them. We’d absolutely batter them with him in there.

KennyY

Agree that a win next week puts us in a really strong position but our recent record against Celtic hasn’t been great. We need our best performance of the season and old firm with no dodgy refereeing decisions. Announce Collum as the ref. He owes us a few decisions.

Pedro

Encroachment by attacking and defending players is a retake. 2 hibs players in first. Also worth pointing out given the slight margin it therfore isn't a clear and obvious error, so probably should have stood

Spoon

Good pod gents agree with most of what Kev said but time to drop the side swipes at Dessers. He now in effect has to score all the goals, convert every chance he gets and single handed run the attack or he’s gash. The boy has been playing well for months now and contributing despite injury, team selection roulette and the fuel gauge being on empty but every comment on him is backhanded. Clement keeps talking about the squad and the team it’s time we recognise he is doing his part. Weight played pretty well today and again gets similar. Thought Lundstrum by contrast to others was bang average, dropping back into defence and taking the ball from CBs and lots of slack passing. Just don’t get the bandwagon for him. A really good days work off a break for me, team as unit played well, few individuals were very good in flashes all did their part. Onwards.

Ross

I thought the guys were generous in their praise of Dessers. Nothing wrong with primarily giving him praise while acknowledging his limitations with a big game next weekend to consider. I’m still not convinced he’s the right guy to lead the line in an Old Firm but I’m happy for him to start games like yesterday. Re Lundstram, if there’s been a bandwagon it was the over the top negativity before Clement arrived when others deserved more criticism. Thankfully Phil is getting the best out of him and along with Tav he’s been our best outfield player this season, even the neutrals in Scottish football would acknowledge that.

Bob MacCallum

Re pen, it WAS. The defender didn't head it. It went way over his head. Then it was a forearm smash into Souttar's face! Anywhere else on the pitch, we're discussing if it should be a red!

Spoon

Couldn’t disagree more to be honest, every player in Scotland is limited that’s the point, we have no top level players with Tav being probably the closest to that level the rest are just average. We seem to feel the need to play down or over hype what we have constantly when the reality is somewhere in the middle. Think anytime you hear praise of Dessers from some quarters it’s barbed personally, the same happened last year with Colak when all we should be worrying about is output. You don’t get more points for ‘good goals’ or deductions for misses. Lundstrum has played about half the time he has been here, yes he’s had spells but his style is ponderous and safe and for me personally I just don’t rate him the way others do. 10 minutes in restated he’s playing passes with the CBs and dropping deeper than them, that’s always in his game and it seems hard wired, folk seem quite happy to just ignore that and heap on praise unlike with Dessers or others. The point is neither are perfect and in our market it’s unlikely we get that level but to my mind anyway some Made their mind up on Dessers early and can’t accept he’s played his way into being a proper contributor as the season goes on to us the Lundstrum analogy, Clement seems to be getting the best out of Dessers but to some he’s still a joke. I feel the focus on him missing chances, misses the point.

Billy Forrester

He is past his best, well past it and our left side was opened up with ease until he was replaced where Sterling looked far more solid at lb. It’s ok to have an opinion that borna is way below par now and still be thankful for his past efforts, he will go with best wishes however he simply cannot start against them as he is our weak spot in the team. Your argument to say if he was worlds best defender and wouldn’t be at rangers is just silly as that is same for every player and position in our team, borna is past his best and it’s unfortunately plain for all or the vast majority to see

Spoon

Wouldn’t give him a deal at all, there’s better out there and the negativity that he brings to the midfield vs guys like Cantwell and Lawrence holds us back. At ibrox dropping into CB to play 10 yard passes, if that’s magnificent it’s not how I scale things. I don’t dislike him I dont believe like you he’s vital, nobplayer we have is vital that’s my point. They are all of a level and he like others has flaws and limitations what we know is that he plays in spells and sometimes those last months, folk rightly criticised his play for huge parts of his career and to me currently he is being bf overhyped … others under hyped that’s my point.

Bob MacCallum

Dessers M of M. April Fool's Day is MONDAY, guys. Colin, scoring the 2nd goal in a 3-1 win isn't scoring " the winner"! Dessers missed 4 good chances, 2 when we were desperate for that 3rd goal. He was slightly better than normal but we're starting from a low bar here. He's a DUD so stop this revisionism and desperately hoping he'll turn out a gem just because you keep talking him up. You can be sure you won't be doing that after next Sunday.

Doug

“It's ok to have an opinion that borna is way below par now and still be thankful for his past efforts.” That precisely my point, very few seem to take that position. Opinions of him have morphed into this amorphous blend of him being a constant cowardly failure, who feigns injury all the time. This is simply not the case. Far from thankful, many seem desperate to see the back of him. I find this kind of revisionism particularly frustrating.

Ross

He was dropping in between the centre backs regularly yesterday but that’s clearly tactical instruction from Clement who we know doesn’t accept players not following instruction (he ruthlessly subbed Cantwell on more than one occasion for this reason earlier in the season) You could see Lundstram dropping deep and gesturing to the full backs to move higher or come inside, we didn’t do this for 90 minutes but it was done often…rightly or wrongly…to mix up how we attack. But that comes from the manager.

Spoon

It predates the manager in fairness and was part of the criticism he received previously. I’m sure the manager gives him direction but he will let him play his own way in that structure and as I say that’s just not something we need at Ibrox in particular. It’s an opinion and the whole point of forums surely ? Don’t deny anyone the right to their view at all but it doesn’t mean it’s shared unanimously or unchallengeable. For me we over and under hype guys too quickly, my view and respect others may see it different. As I say….good pod just don’t resonate with the Desser critique especially on recent form.

Colin

It’s getting tiresome Bob. In terms of a striker he is what we have at the moment. He has scored 17 goals, goals we wouldn’t be challenging for a treble without. Is he the long term answer? Probably not but will I get behind him in every match between now and the end of the season? Yes. When we win 56 he will absolutely have played his part and deserve his medal. Try supporting him and the team you might enjoy it more.

Bob MacCallum

2 of the most insulting comments I've ever had. Come back and tell me to "support " the team when like me, you've been doing that for 63 years! I always support the team. I never boo. I didn't even boo Dessers when the entire stadium was booing him. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that. I sit in the SJ rear and you should hear what the guys around me think of Dessers. He's a joke. Yes, he has scored goals but most strikers in our league would have done the same given the players around him. I'll try my best not to criticise any Gers players or the team in future as we are the best at everything and it's just not acceptable to cheerleaders with tunnel vision.

Ross

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. It is an understatement to say I’m not a fan of Dessers but you’ve got to acknowledge he’s made a contribution and I thought yesterday his all round game was good. You can acknowledge that on one hand, support him at games as Bob does and on the other give the view that he’s still not done enough for me to want to see him with us next season. Dessers has been woeful in both old firm games so far this season, truly awful, so despite his undeniable upturn in form it’s a valid view to question his selection next weekend. I don’t think these games will ever suit him.

Douglas Innes

Wonder if on reflection does the carpod agree with the penalty decsion and what followed ie should it have been retaken ?? Ps Dessers MOTM for me

Billy Forrester

Bob i get u don’t like Dessers and you think he is shite, lots of us know his limitations however when he plays well he deserves credit and that’s something u never can give him, yes he missed a couple of chances yesterday but so do all strikers, they don’t score every chance. Dessers is all we have at moment and the lad never hides, he tries his heart out for us and u know what, that will do for me for this season, is he long term answer, no, but he is giving us his all and so far is doing just fine, without his goals we wouldn’t be in this position. The fact also you have supported Rangers for 63 years and sit in the SJ rear is brilliant, it doesn’t make us any less supporters as we aren’t as old yet so haven’t notched up 63 years supporting our club, I’ve been going to Ibrox since I was 5 and I’m now 49 and sit in the club deck but it’s not a competition, we all love the club but just give the lad some credit when it’s due and yesterday it was due mate. If he scores the winner Sunday I’m sure u will still hate him however I will suck his boaby

Gary Staff

John Brown on RTV picked Dessers as MOTM. Thought it was fair, like Kev said it was one of those games where there were no stand outs but I thought he had a good game. I mean you go on about how you never boo the players or the team but here you are calling one of our players who’s scored 17 goals a DUD. I’m sorry Boab but that doesn’t sound like support to me.
