A Massively Momentous Week...

Simon invites Grant to discuss this past weekends 3-1 over Hibernian at Ibrox.

The guys discuss the contribution of Cyriel Dessers, the return of Abdallah Sima among others as well as a baffling refereeing performance.

Finally, they look ahead to this weekends game against the other half of the city and look at where the match can be won or lost.

Feel free to leave any comments. Thanks for listening

The encroachment decision was a nonsense. Impact doesn't come into it (I think it does from next season), both attacking and defending players were encroaching therefore it should have been a retake. Scottish referees are absolutely useless. On a side note, the Scottish version of VAR is crap, we need more cameras and better angles. We don't even have goal line technology!

Ideally the decision is fully explained on screen As a MINIMUM they need to have a summary on the SFA/SPFL website clarifying VAR decisions. That’s all it needs, the officials don’t need to do interviews or the like The problem is though that gives no hiding place if they just get it wrong (which was the case at the weekend)

Angus Mackay

Diomande as the 10/ on Macgregor for me. He offers a more disciplined press and also a treat from the edge of the box. Stopping Macgregor is key.

Colin Kennedy

Wasn’t getting the nervousness at all on Saturday 👌. I thought the crowd were excellent.

Rian Clark

I agree I don’t think cantwell has impressed in old firms when he has to stop macgregor

Grant Sneddon

There were parts especially in that 10 minute spell before HT and before the noise was ramped up about 70 mins where I felt it was subdued. However the last 20 minutes was superb with everyone right behind the team

Fraser Dobbie

Surprised nobody seems to want to start Silva up front. Cantwell as must for me, he’s a far superior player to Lawrence in the big moments. Really need Ridvan to be fit and if he’s not I think we’ll see Sterling at left back.

Rod

Standard rule is the ball goes to the keeper if the game is stopped while the ball is in the box. Nothing wrong with that, ref was following the rules.

Gregg

Grant’s team v them - please please no

Gregg

Na mate - if it was away it’s not a bad side. Midfield is far too negative - if Beale had picked that side folk would go mental. Wouldn’t be switching sima - if he starts - to play the other side given he’s only played the left hand side for us.

Grant Sneddon

Thats fair, it's a difficult one as that right side has a few different options and we want to try pin Taylor back so Sima for me is best option.

Gregg

If we are utilising our best outfield player this season to negate the prowess of Greg Fucking Taylor, it’s gonna be a long week 😂😂😂

Grant Sneddon

Yeah thats not came across how I wanted it too 🤣🤣 what I meant is that Simas skillset is the best to expose him rather than make sure he's not an attacking option

David Kiltie

That what I was thinking - Lundstram and Sterling as the two with Diomande on McGregor. Or is that too negative? Apropos Grant’s selection, has Sima ever played in the right for us?

Steven Harvey

Enjoyed the pod gents. One point, not sure I get the surprise about Balogan not being reintroduced. I thought after 15 mins at Parkhead he was a cert to give away a goal or get a red. He was woeful! I like the big man but in my opinion he’s finished as an option in the games against better teams and unfortunately we have to class them as one of them. 😬

Craig

Drop balls are all uncontested now. Changed a few seasons ago.

James Todd

They got the encroachment rule correct. Read the laws, would only have been retake if hibs player encroaching had touched it
