I’m convinced this game will never happen. Dundee promising a match is like George RR Martin promising Winds of Winter or Truman Capote promising Answered Prayers

SC81

I dont think the game will be on but if it is then the players will hopefully be fired up by the nonsense with the pitch

James Cameron

Why have PFA Scotland been silent on the issue regarding players safety on this pitch

John leitch

Agree entirely The media negativity from the usual suspects brings the game down

Ewan Christie

This just in, it rains in Scotland. Who’d have thought?

David Campbell

I've got tbh here am hoping this is off. I've got the fear with that pitch and the circumstances. Neutral venue next week please.

Craig McWhinnie

Wouldn’t be apposed to bringing in another GK but preferably not at the expense of super Jack

Bigticket

The driving people away narrative is entirely deliberate. This is the classic behaviour of narcissism, wear your target down so they leave. We need to learn to fight fire with fire otherwise they will literally win by diluting our numbers who leave fed up.

Jordan McKay

Love the song today. Ironically BfS is now considered classic pop-punk.

Nick

on the SC semi allocation, the cut off was 1454pts (50-somthing anyway), which isn't even all of silver. Going by the response I got from the club they didn't even get close to offering a ticket to all of "Priority Group 1", ST + CCCS + MyGers. If all that group can't purchase a ticket you've got 1000+ ST holders who will have at least purchased a ticket to every home cup game so far not being offered a ticket... absolute joke.

Graham Leatherbarrow

Having travelled 6 hours to the last farce at Dundees dens park with a 6 hour slog home for nowt, we waited until 1130 today and said sod that again. It was never going to be on at 1130, totally unfair to mess everyone about, player safety should be top priority.

Mark Sheen

That safari suit big game hunter line is an absolute belter haha stealing that

Scott Tolmie

Park is way worse than Dumbarton one that night. Game should be off and I wouldn’t risk playing on it as it def doesn’t benefit us.

Lynsey Roddy

It’s absolutely hammering down in Dundee now. I live 10 mins walk from Dens. It’s going to be an awful surface if it does go ahead & dangerous for our players to be playing on.

Allan

There's a perfectly acceptable playing surface 100 yards down the road! Can somebody not connect the dots?

Robert White

"Today's update is at the slightly later time of 9pm as we await the 4th pitch inspection...."

Bill Jones

I've said for a wee while now that we will not have Butland next season. With an impending call up to the England squad the EPL will come a calling. Hopefully we get a big return on him

Cairo

This is the one! I've really been digging "Getting Old Sucks (But everybody's doing it)" from them. 😂

Callum Gordon

2 scenarios, another inspection at 17.30 then called off or it just passes at 15.30 they let it ride until kick off ( where the covers are whipped off 5 minutes prior ) and the ref abandons the game at some point in the second half 😂

John Marshall

I don't watch any build up, half time or full time on Sky anymore because it drains the soul listening to false outrage and controversy. Sky are going for what I'd call 'American model' when it comes to Scottish football. Its awful. Time be fair It's the same set up the debate sections on UK daytime TV have where they have talking heads who will take whatever point of view the producers pay them to. Content and clicks is all they care about. No matter how crap it is.

Colin McL.

I'm been convinced for a while that Celtic fans don't actually enjoy football. Notwithstanding the reasons for it, they've had incredible domestic success in the last decade. As a football fan, I'd be wondering why my team hasn't progressed in Europe over these years. Instead that mob are creating conspiracy narratives about the domestic game... that they have dominated.

Martin Boyd

Fantastic summation of Scottish fitba David. Miserable bastards are ruining it and even if it costs teams 5-10% of their support most clubs wouldn’t survive that.

Stephen

Not sure about the ticket situation. Based on average attendance would Celtic be due to get 10%(?) more than us for the final?! Think hearts should have been given 2 weeks to sell tickets to whoever they want then hand the rest back to us.

Stephen

Yeah, it’s fascinating behaviour. Psychologists will study it in the future. Think they saw a chance to see us gone forever and when that didn’t happen it they couldn’t cope with the possibility of us challenging them again. Spend their whole lives looking over their shoulders instead of enjoying their achievements.

Paul Kerr

The manager showing his class with the loaded questions from the press as always. Awful pitches hinder the game and jeopardise players health and lively hood. The notion that they can just get on with it so Dundee can save a few quid is embarrassing. Everyone deserves a working environment that is as safe as possible.

Fraser86

Right David interesting view on average attendance, does thar mean that celtic get more tickets for the final,

Heart and Hand

No, I did say you try to get in as many regulars from both as possible so if both clubs have an average attendance higher than 21k (as Hearts and Aberdeen used to) you accommodate as many ST holders from each as possible.

Brian Auld

It’s a victim mentality that doesn’t suit being the premier team in the country. The sooner we take back over winning regularly the better for their sake.

Graham Leatherbarrow

Can Dundee guarantee it won’t rain on 17th April, an April shower and it’s game off again

Jim McCutcheon

Totally agree with your comments David you are spot on ,we can all see the comedy o errors, the sfa are consistently bad 👎

Monkspath Miko

Sorry David, I don’t often disagree with you but I do re the tickets situation. The whole point of a neutral venue is to not give one team an advantage. Immediately deciding that the bigger (supposed) team gets a bigger slice of the attendance just doesn’t sit well with me. I understand regulars then miss out and day trippers from the smaller teams get to attend, but I think it’s right Hearts get the chance to fill their half. If they don’t this time, and their board is on the hook for the cost then fine, I’m sure next time they might think twice before demanding the 50/50 split.

Granters

Scottish football is just hating itself to death.

Roderick Boyle

Moses on standby for next week in Dundee

douglas easton

Thanks for reading out email, interesting seeing the different takes on it. Oh, and if anyone happens to have a spare ticket, you know where to find me😂

Craig

Clement is not shy, great to hear him call them out.

Martin Davies

We should be asking where the other 8k tickets go if both clubs get 21k. Far too many dished out to diddy clubs and sponsors. On the split of tickets. If a club has an average of less than 21k, they get the average. Apply this to both teams. Then split the difference. Its ridiculous that people who plough money in to Scottish football week in week out don't get priority. Without these fans, professional football dies. Yet they are taken from granted. In general terms, Scottish football has been particularly poisonous and petty since 2012. The hatred of all things Rangers and the "always cheated" crowd make it a negative cesspit. Its almost become a self perpetuating race to the bottom.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

For me Silva is a diver and I hate that behaviour. Rangers players DON’T dive. Big Phil saying he talked to Silva about 2 incidents…..what incidents? The diving or something else.
