Just started listening, great win in the end, and great to hear Andy's voice back on the pods again.

Steven L

We’ve just got to be confident in our abilities. Decent today. 6 cup finals…….

Stace1ofthePeople

Buzzing 💙 not listened yet but my thoughts. Balogun should stay there for rest of season, his position from now on. Why was he RCB and sourar stayed LCb? Diomande made a huge difference in midfield and complimented lundstrum a bit more Sloppy at times but could see the hunger and desire . Need to keep positive at this moment and time and stick with PC amd the team to the very end. The team is who it is. No surrender watp. Sunday not ruined . Well done rangers . PS michael stewart GIRUY

Mark Rennie

Todd cantwell, diomande and balogun where excellent today. Very much improved team performance

Samuel Hammond

A lot of positives to take from today. Mainly that we were actively looking for opportunities to score. Diomande was a breath of fresh air today- I like Lawrence but I’m not sure he’s got the dynamism Mo does. Also thought Dessers led the line well too. Lastly, I haven’t been a huge lover of Sterling on the left (but understand that it has been a case of needs must)… but again, thought he was much stronger today!

Simon Botterill

Finally players back in position. Started with 9/11 in position, Sima coming off is not good but moved us to 10/11 players in position, actually finished with 11/11 players in position. Not a brilliant performance but a much more confident one as players feel more confident in the structure again. Recent poor form is a combination of historical failure/mentality but PC going against his previous method. The line ups don't lie in the analysis.

Stan Templeton

Maybe not brilliant mate, but very composed for the largest time. I certainly think that barring 1 slip from Souttar, the central defence was as good as we've seen for a long time.

Andrew Hind

Dessers reminds me of Ted McMinn

KennyY

Really enjoyed that today. Much more like us. Defence was solid, midfield stronger and Dessers had a really good performance. A week to recover before next Sunday. Oh and let’s hope it pisses down all week in Dundee.

Vanb bryceter

Balogun is the best centre half we have imo he keeps his place diomande made a huge difference for lundstram today with his movement. We are still in this taday gave us a toe hold lets make it a foothold next week. Time to reset and get a solid week training into us. Set plays were different today as well good to see.

Tom

Dessers has got the no surrender spirit back.

8luenose1872

Cantwell was my motm but I agree Dio back in the midfield made a huge difference to how we played. AND BALOGUN CANT BE DROPPED!!! he was our best defender before his short injury so should have came right back in imo.

Paul

I enjoyed that boys! I had a wee laugh at Andy bringing up the " massive pitch at Hampden" It's amazing how one of Scottish football's biggest myths just won't die! Every time we play there it gets mentioned.

Leslie Hibbert

McLean is a coward, the ultimate in giving the smaller teams a level up

CRAIG CASSELLS

My MOTM was Cantwell. Can't believe that not one of the three of you even included Todd among your nominees for MOTM. He was at his skillful best, had two assists and ran himself into the ground.

Roderick Boyle

Matondo is shocking , apart from Soutter making some errors I think it was a reasonable all round performance with a few very good performances .

Kirk Guthrie

Rangers finally back at it, gf finally over her rhinovirus, and I'm off work this week. I'm on top of the world lads, I'll be at the pub!!

David

The prematch was a disgrace with there negativity

Gary Christie

The difference with just doing basics better I.e winning 2nd balls and not just sitting off the game, passively. Winning a 2nd ball was the catalyst for our first goal

Luke

Balogun has to stay in the team from now on. I think Matondo should only come on from the bench, he is a one trick pony. The team seemed composed and confident of the win today. However to me, i always fancy rangers to beat hearts. Against Celtic, Rangers will have to go up a few levels in my opinion.

Spoon

Have to say didn’t see the errors from Souttar others did thought he was excellent and him and Balogoun were a proper partnership. Similarly didn’t think Cantwell was the standout for me it was Diomande who was excellent, positive and dynamic. Without being churlish, great to see the team rally but still doesn’t make up for two abhorrent performances from them, and still some players just not cutting it. Credit where it’s due on the day but it doesn’t excuse the last few weeks unless this is the first step to a late resurgence. Delighted for Dessers who people keep saying never does it in a big match or that his goals don’t matter as they come in games already won. He’s not the future but he’s a worker and never hides which is more than can be said for others. Can’t be unhappy with that result but we now need to finish the season strongly.

Heart and Hand

Think that’s previous biases coming through. You like Souttar and don’t rate Cantwell so it will colour your opinion. Souttar between 45 and 65 was a bombscare.

Stewart Robertson

Good to hear Andy B’s keeping well 🇬🇧🇮🇱

Gregg

💯 he was all over the place for a spell. He has that in him sadly

Doogz

Thought Cantwell and Diomande played well. People can say what they like about Dessers, but his first goal was sublime, and he could have had 4, no matter the slagging the big man takes he never hides or downs tools, unlike others who were lauded as heroes, and in the end shafted the support and the team.

Colin Gardner

We needed that today. Not just the result obviously but putting a decent performance in aswell. Thought Diomande ran the midfield. Just trying to decide if Lundstrum in there helps or hinders us at times. Agree with the boys about Matondo. Shite starter, superstar sub. Looking forward to the final against the scum just hope it's for the treble!😬

Paul

Haha I'll give you a pass then! Stay safe mate. Always enjoy hearing your thoughts on Rangers.

mark wyper

We follow on that's all we can do

CJT

Better. A bit to go but when you had the week we had all you can do is be better in the next game and so on to keep progressing back to when we need to be. Good on the gaffer. Balagoun and Diamonde made a difference. Not so much Matondo (impact player) but it was the call most wanted made and not all changes can work. A cup won, in the final of another and closer at this stage in the year than we’ve been in all but one season since we’ve been back. Desers make me laugh when we win, mad when we don’t. Laughing today thankfully. Onwards and upwards.

Spoon

Think that’s previous biases coming through? I guess that works for all of us, not the first time Souttar has been blamed by some while Goldson was admonished but like you guys. I call it as I see it. I like honest hard work more than flash so I naturally appreciate people who go about their job, take responsibility and when it goes wrong don’t look to blame others. I don’t dislike Cantwell I think he is over hyped like many in the squad and it seems players have to be amazing or crap these days and the middle ground is anathema. Just an opinion gents nothing more, we all have players we relate to or resonate with and others that we don’t. I am more than happy to acknowledge some excellent passages of play from Cantwell particularly setting up the goal but don’t feel the need to go OTT about him or likewise hammer Souttar for the odd bit he might have done better. We had Lundstrum spraying passes out of the park impressed and marking Butland at points and yet a few weeks ago to say anything about him made you unstaunch. Delighted to see the team get a result, delighted we more or less controlled the game and some guys like Dio shone in a tough match but surely it’s ok to see a game differently, I just don’t agree with him being a bomb scare, think he’s become another Scottish whipping boy for some while others glide about criticism free or contributing very little. Im ok with folk not agreeing but the idea it’s just a bias is lazy, if it’s only thumbs up comments allowed it’s not much of a forum.

Iain McGilvray

Cantwell, Balogun and Diomande were my top 3. A few nervy passes from Dio, but really grew into the game. Cantwell was brilliant in both ends of the park, snapping into tackles and being brave on the ball. Much better today

Alan

Great to go through, but the standard of the ref was unbelievable. How he never thought it was a foul on tav on the build up to our goal. For once I grateful for their ineptitude

Billy Forrester

Diomande man of match by miles, Cantwell brilliant, Balogun commanding, Dessers effective, clever and great finishing. I’m happy and something to build on 💙💪💙

Craig

Noticed for the first time today how much Matondo slows down when he actually has the ball at his feet.

CRAIG CASSELLS

I fully accept everyone is allowed their own opinion of MOTM. I was just surprised when asked to nominate their MOTM the 3 of you each mentioned 3 or 4 candidates and Todd wasn't one of them. Just goes to show we can all see the same game differently. Just glad Cantwell looks focused again. Diomande looks a gem. Now if we could get Raskin fulfilling his potential our midfield 3 could be sorted for next season.

Doug

Anyone else gets shades of Umar Sadiq from Silva’s comical trip?

Gregg

Souttar has had a lot of praise recently - he has been good since the winter break. He was shaky yesterday though. Overall - for me the jury is out on him, the fact he’s a regular for us and not picked for Scotland is telling given who is keeping him out.

Spoon

With the chaos Lundstrum causes, the form of Goldson, the fact he is a right footed CB being played at left CB I think he does fine and unlike many others in the team doesn’t look about for a scapegoat if he makes a mistake. His greatest game ? Possibly not, but a bomb scare or someone who put us at risk in the match, no not for me just didn’t see that. The manager constantly try talks about the team yet as a support we love to single out individuals and put things on them. From the summer some people have had Souttar as a squad guy and Goldson as a god, be interesting to see how the match stats look as it may well be I am totally wrong and he was crap, wasn’t my impression at the time however.

Gregg

You’re singling out lundstram and goldson then complaining about folk singling out souttar in the same post - get yourself a coffee. Agree to differ yesterday.

Dingus

Don’t often disagree with Andy but to say Matondo did ok and worked hard today isn’t what I witnessed. He’s a dreamer. He reacts 2 seconds late in attack and defence. Hearts were firing diagonals into our right wing and he was playing catch-up many times first half. A better full back would’ve created havoc with the space Matondo gave him.

Spoon

Think your seeing what you want to Greg as usual, I actually referenced about three or four different aspects. Instead of constantly telling people what to think why not just accept people don’t see it like you and that’s absolutely fine. I’m not looking for your permission to hold a view and I’m not interested in converting people to my view so you not agreeing doesn’t phase me. Could do without the smart comment though, my opinions as valid as anyone else’s and no need to get a coffee but thanks for your concern. Always happy to take on a view but the sneering is a bit much, I’m not here telling people how it is only how I see it, less enjoyable each day to be fair.

Gregg

I wasn’t sneering mate - sorry if that’s the way it came across. Perhaps should have added a smiley 😃 I think you, as we all do, make comment (positive and negative) on individual players. Souttar has been praised for his play this year - doesn’t make him immune to criticism.

Tom Smith

Balogun all day long. He was aggressive when needed, and clam at other times. He rarely let's us down.

Spoon

Greg I am the guy who constantly says we shouldn’t get too high and shouldn’t get to low when it comes to praising or slating guys. I think we overhype and slate people in equal measure as a support and there’s a more stable middle ground. Nobody in our team is immune to critique not even Butland or the manager however on this occasion, watching the match I just didn’t see the bomb scare others did that’s all, I didn’t think he was immense either but given the circumstances I thought him and Balogoun were a better pairing than we have seen recently. I also don’t think Goldson is the sacred cow others do in fairness. You know I’m not a fan of the flash guys, I didn’t rate Kent as others did and Cantwells personality isn’t as infectious for me as others find it but I absolutely acknowledge he had a decent game, for me however he is still a bit petulant and prone to get sidetracked with nonsense and niggling at players. I don’t like my players to do that, call it cold conservatism or whatever you like, even call me a dinosaur but it’s my view. For me the stand out was Diomande who again is getting lots of hype but I would urge a bit of caution just on the sample size we have seen. He’s exciting and hopefully kicks on but we have guys having him as a world beater and we haven’t even had him for half a season yet! Coulibally anyone ? There’s no harm no foul and I like the discourse but it can be a bit annoying to have your view sensationalised or derided simply as it’s not on message. I’m not in it for likes, I listen often to whole pods where guys are written off as gash who I think are honest pros and contributing but I accept that for some guys like Wright, Dessers or Tav can do no right, I don’t have to agree though. I will even give Lundstrum some credit, I thought half the game he was dross with his distribution but he came onto a game second half and made some excellent passes, these wee bits of play aren’t near enough for me to think we should keep him but neither do I think he is rubbish, I think he slows us down and doesn’t offer half as much as others were seeing. And that’s totally fine! Isn’t that the beauty of here ? Honest, frank exchange of views without the need to be right in the absolute sense? I have no issue with peoples assessment of the match on the pod or in comments they didn’t all match mine but that’s totally fine. We all have biases and different expectations but I certainly don’t think my views are anything but opinion, by the same token so are other peoples.

Graeme Homer

Balogun has been sorely missed, Goldson has struggled with Bomb scare Souttar beside him and even without Goldson today Souttar is still horrid, we’ve got play Goldson and Balogun going forward and the snide comment at the end about Tav playing better because Goldson wasn’t there is uncalled for and just wrong, Tav had cover today from two wide players willing to track back and Diomande actually being able to do both sides for the game. How you could praise Lundstram, I don’t know, he was howling too, miss passes everywhere, losing his runners and so much more and we wonder why the defence struggles with him covering them! Thankfully the Nigerian Nightmare was on our side today, the comments on his fitness at the start of the season, he wasn’t fit Beale was told this. All the press in Italy about Dessers after his Patella surgery was he wasn’t going to be fully fit until Christmas. Another clean sheet, Diomande back to help Cantwell make things work and a cup final to win on the treble chase. Keep believing!!

Gregg

Fair comments - I thought balogun was very good, nice and aggressive at nicking the ball when needed and added a calmness. I get why cantwell’s antics can annoy some - I think he plays better when he’s getting kicked and his dander is up, rather than retreat into his shell he can have a “I’ll show you” attitude. He’s got lovely hair as well.

Colin Wieland

So much better but my god, Soutter is an absolute bombscare.

Heart and Hand

I think Souttar gets away with a lot because the support focus on Goldson and people like the idea of a big Scottish CH so they’ve decided he is better than he is. The LCB thing doesn’t excuse his regular brain farts for me. He’s got talent but he’s way too error probe for a Rangers CH in my opinion.

Spoon

Respectfully disagree, you are right though I like the idea of a no nonsense Scottish spine through the team and for me like many other local talent there is an automatic downplaying of ability and focus on mistakes that others avoid. The talk around Shankland shows how polarising it can be, unsurprisingly I would take him in a heartbeat and don’t subscribe to the talk around his value being OTT for me it’s simply the going rate. One man’s excuse is another man’s rationale, every one of our players have flaws some deeper than others I guess it’s just about your viewpoint….. or bias 👀

Spoon

Can’t disagree on the hair Greg will give you that….not sure about that alice band though!

Spoon

Really can’t remember anything he did that specifically left us vulnerable or carved us open. Be interested to see the match stats and their chances, you may well be absolutely correct just wasn’t a thing for me watching it.

Gregg

One of the instances was diving in and getting turned on the touchline - he hauled the player back and it led to the chance where Tav slipped at the back. Hearts made an arse of it. Kinda challenge you don’t need to make so far up. Think he got booked for it - or he certainly should have.

Spoon

I get the sense the manager wants him to be the guy who engages the ball and makes the tackle with others supposed to cover him. I say that purely based on the belief if the manager didn’t like what he was doing, he would be out the team. Possibly he is only there as the options are so limited and things change in the summer though. Always feel for the guy who commits but gets skinned, it happens and it’s where you need the rest of the team to cover. Defend and attack as a unit when you get to single points of failure there’s a wider problem.

Gregg

It’s definitely an art - the whole knowing when to commit. Balogun was pretty good at it on Sunday. You should only do it when you have to or have cover though - and not in positions on the field where it’s not necessary. Not a dig at souttar that just a general point

Spoon

Same criticism was levelled, fairly, at Katic and you’re not wrong at all. That’s where the partnership comes in and Balogoun shows his quality, he makes the guy next to him better. Big man’s excellent at covering and his positional sense is excellent just a shame he’s the age he is. There were times he was being slated too not that long ago though.
