John Smith

How exactly is a year with Batman, Lethal Weapon 2, Karate Kid 3, Last Crusade, Ghostbusters 2, Little Mermaid, Back to the Future Part II and I could go on, not groundbreaking ? One of the best years of cinema ever

Alan Weir

Crimes and Misdemeanours: a masterpiece by the wee man.

Simon

Always suspicious of anyone who likes dead poets society.

John Smith

Cammy you’re the man. Frank Miller and Alan Moore both a couple of legends. Batman the animated series is the greatest cartoon show of all time

John Smith

Sure but they all expanded upon the lore of the first one and created new characters that stood on their own.

Bob McMillan

Less than 8 minutes and David wins with pick 1.....

Mark

"It says nothing to me about my life" "What did you study at Uni?" "Ahh... But..." 😃

Heart and Hand

Tbh I didn’t really understand that argument. I have danced before but don’t feel Dirty Dancing said much to me 😀

Gordon McCool

Poor Martyn, blissfully unaware that in a year or two he will be drowning in Disney.

David D

A lot of great films reviewed, the PR and impact of Batman was insane in 1989. Though my wild card would have been the Spike Lee masterpiece 'Do The Right Thing'

Simon

Massively important film culturally for me, not to mention the sound track. I'm away to listen to Fight The Power. RIP Radio

LD

It's a testament to how good "Back to the Future 2" is that I saw it before the first one, and could still follow it and enjoy it.

Bixby Snyder

Poor year for popular foreign movies but John Woo’s “The Killer” was definitely groundbreaking.

Bill Ramsay

David wins easily I'm afraid
