MARK DRIVER

Tough game to watch but 3 points and on to the next

Martin Boyd

If we had played like that with the same application against RC and Dundee we would still have the league in our hands. St Mirren are always tough there, they play long ball and with aggression and with the fragility in this team I was concerned.

Jim McCutcheon

Result is what really matters but the performance once again was a hard watch like too many before, we had a fair slice of luck today which you need butland was superb again, dessers comes up with the goods that guy is certainly unpredictable 🙃, we take the win thankfully but it ain't pretty 😬

James Macleod

Lundstrum is a man down now, no attacking play and really doesnt effect the defence. Misses chances to pass forward and always goes backwards. leaves Diomante to try and play midfield on his own.

Luke

Happy to get away with 3 points overall but my god the team is so poor. Lundstrum looks tired. Nothing to hit on the wings. Not much off the bench either.

Latimer

Silva should be left back. Left back at Ibrox with a brush.

Steven

Why so many flat footballs in the Scottish top flight. Smacks of a Mickey mouse league that we are trying to sell to the world.

Douglas Innes

Too many players have checked out

Douglas Gilligan

When we are missing Sima, Matondo and Cortes the only real ball carriers/creators we have are Tav and Cantwell. We lack creativity, fluidity and players who can beat a man thereby drawing someone out and creating space. To be where we are with this squad is quite incredible but it’s a hard watch at times.

Ryan Stewart

Important to get the three points in the end. Not sure I seen anything that makes me think there is a turnaround on the cards though if I’m honest. Does anyone think this team can to go Celtic park and win? Just can’t see it personally and probably more importantly, I don’t think the players believe they can

Vanb bryceter

Seen plenty of games like this in title run ins before. Pontless critisising performance or players. Clement has got us to here with one arm tied behind his back. The points are what matter now just win game by game and see where we are in May

Allan Swan

I had to double check I was listening to the correct pod. The negativity from David is awful. Cheer up man! On Fabio Silva if we ever get to play him in his no.10 position we will see a player come alive. How we are still in this league is all about the manager. Hands tied behind his back and blindfolded. Outstanding M. Clement.

Heart and Hand

I didn’t think I was that negative tbh! But given it’s our first league win in a month I think coming on raving would be a bit false.

Alastair McGeoch

Tough watch and getting a win is a relief. Just makes the performances against Ross County and Dundee even more frustrating.

Graham Hendry

Does anyone genuinely think this group can win the league?

Gordon Millar

The big questions for this team are 1. Do they believe that they can win the league? 2. Do they have enough faith in the squad/each other to win the league? I'm not convinced on either question.

Gregg

Could the refs maybe check them all pre match given it’s a thing

Billy Forrester

It wasn’t a great performance and we didn’t play particularly well however it’s a win and we gotta keep winning no matter what. Can this team win at the piggery, I’m not convinced but you just never know. Lundstrum looks particularly bad again and as if he wants away, I think it be best for us all if he was to leave as he brings nothing to us whatsoever at present. Job done and onto next Sunday where hopefully we will see a good performance and a few goals

Graham Jones

It’s three points, it’s a win and it’s a title race. Considering where we were six months ago I’ll take that. They aren’t what this manager would choose for a squad, but the fact is they’re coming through a dip in form. It’s two wins in a row so they build on that and move onto the next game. That’s all we can do. There are other hard fixtures for both sides to come, so we play one game at a time to win three points each time. It’s boring but that’s the job at this time of the season. It’s our first proper title race in too long, and we can’t grumble about the players we have. Talk can wait for the end about changes. It’s about the here and now, and we’re still punching.

Doogz

First half was dreadful, as has already been said we don’t look like a team going for the title, we looked as if we were running on empty. Suppose it is all about the 3 points but it’s hard to see this group lifting their performance to get the wins needed. Injuries to key players have really done us in.

David Innes

It’s no coincidence that our performance started to dip after Cortes got injured

Rod

Personally thought Butland could have done better at their goal tbh but he more than made up for it.

Scott Tolmie

I honestly thought diomande was very average today, hopefully it’s true about lundstrum leaving as I think the manager has got that wrong which is worrying, I’m very surprised how little opportunity raskin is getting as he’s another we need to make a decision on

Mike Sim

I don't think they even do - reeked of an end of season game with nothing on the line.

Hendi

Clearly a ploy to break up our Rythmn by making the game stop start. There weren't any burst balls when they were chasing a goal.

Stace1ofthePeople

Diomande and sterling in the middle. Mccausland RW, silva/Matondo LW. Bring lundstrum on to rest other players last 10/15 mins if we are winning comfortably

Russ

I'm sorry for saying this but I just don't see how this team goes to Parkhead and gets a win, because that's what we need. It's baffling watching us atm.

Spoon

Our players need to give themselves a proper shake and decide if they really want this or not. Terrible pace and pattern to most of the play and the usual suspects constantly looking for stupid short nothing passes which are usually square or back. Nobody can convince me we need midfielders dropping back constantly hiding next to centre backs. The number of times our players play junk passes just to put it back to where they got it, lump it aimlessly forward or worse turn it over is soul destroying. In the first ten minutes Lundstrum, Balglun and Tav went back and gave up the ball or put a teammate in trouble and we need to bin it. Bar Butland thought Cantwell and Dio again showed up well. Wish Cantwell would focus on the game than his own personal pity sometimes but he when he did he was good again this week, think he even fe out with the ref at one point which is a new angle. Though Dessers again worked well for the team despite being horrendously isolated and it really would be nice to see him in a two up front as I think he would feed well off a main striker. A win but can’t help feeling both the fans and the team need more to convince them the wheels aren’t about to come off at some point. If we keep this level up we might find ourselves turned over badly at their place which would make it all the worse to lose the league that way. Hope I am wrong and we save all our best play for that day but on today’s showing, recent form and recent history it’s hard to find much to rave about. Three points secured in fairness to the team and if they continue to grind that out who knows what could happen. Hopefully the barometer with Balogoun has been reset after last week where it seemed many forgot that he is better coming into the team than when he gets a run. Let’s hope Celemt finds a bag of coffee Stevie G left in his desk or something and the team get a jolt, be nice to see them play like they believed it was still on.

KMc

We’re a team on a downward curve slogging our way to the end of the season. The attitude of the team is very bizarre. I’d be absolutely stunned if we pull this off.

Scott King

Can’t believe I’ve been given a weeks ban on FF for saying Silva is an imposter I mean my evidence would stand up in any court in the land!

Stephen

Agree. On paper we are in a relatively good position but the players don’t seem to believe they can do it. No chance we are winning the league with the players in this state of mind.

ian laird

dessers has now scored more goals this year than alfie did in 4 of his 6 years with us.

Greig Chambers

Couple of things that bug me regarding recent performances. Firstly why do we persist with the same formation when it clearly means playing players out of position. Would we not be better trying a diamong midfield and 2 up top for instance as it would mean silva playing more centrally near dessers and sterling in centre mid which seems to suit him better. I realise its not ideal to change formation at this stage but surely its preferential to get guys playing in positions which suit them better and silva wide left clearly offers nothing. Think my only concern with the manager is that we persist with the same formation and tactics that others have sussed out and we're very one dimensional. Secondly, should we try dropping lundstram and getting sterling centre mid? Today for instance all he seemed to do was recycle the ball with no urgency or tempo. That he has no league goals this season highlights a glaring problem with Lundstram considering he plays every minute of every game. I'm actually bored of watching some of this team stuttering through games and i think there are only 4 or 5 i'd be sorry to lose. I guess this slightly contradicts my earlier point about the manager, who has, lets face it, worked miracles with these players this season. It's a bang average team sadly 😔

Greig Chambers

Thats the most annoying thing for me. They are dying to turn on their board and manager and our performances being so poor lets the pressure off. Convincing performances from us would put more pressure on.

George Smith

Has there been an eta update on Lowry?

jason hart

Spot on .. 3 of the last 4 games is like watching 2 eveningly matched teams playing terrible football The other thing and this pains me it's getting to the stage that your not excited about any of these players (butland excluded) and spend the full game screaming at them to get up and stop rolling around Gogic was head and shoulders the best on park .. our players were shit scared of him

jason hart

The problem is we won't win at the scumdome with this lot

Tamus

It's utterly baffling that the Silva continues to get a start

Bixby Snyder

Thought the Silva/Gogic incident should’ve been a penalty. It’s subtle but he leans forward into Silva blocking him. Also realize these are never given but I think the defender has to at least attempt to turn where the ball has gone and if Silva still runs into him then fair enough.

Gordon Watson

Great show, lads. Bang on the money.

Gary Brown

Agreed. I'd add that mhob have dropped & struggled more vs the teams in the top 6, who they've obviously to play again. Our dropped points have mainly been vs teams in the bottom 6 (& them!).

Gary Brown

Thanks for the pod guys. Time to can the doom & gloom and give the lads a boost, some encouragement to do well, back them to believe, tell them that we believe. If you don't believe why bother going? This team continually surprise. In Sept the league was over according to 'everybody' (!). Even now it still isn't. In the last OF everybody and definitely everybody this time thought 0-2 HT it was over. It wasn't. And again 2-3 with minutes to go it was over. It wasn't. Away to Betis & Benfica other examples. Home vs Hearts another. Very nearly got it back away at that mhob at New Year. They can do it. They have done it. The Gaffer reminds them (and us and the press) they've done it. Win! Pretty or not at this stage. When we've won countless back to back leagues and cups but by boring football there's a debate to be had about silky style and entertainment but not now.

Andy Gray

You can still go / watch the game and deep down not still believe in the team being able to get over the line - they are not mutually exclusive. As for believing in them, the fans were singing for best part of 2 months “WE’RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE” so if the players can’t take encouragement / confidence from that backing then maybe title races and pressure isn’t for them. Evidence since March suggests that is the case.

Robbie McCarroll

Wow forgot about him pretty much got a season ender at hearts we always find new ways to get big injuries
