Plastic pitches should never have been allowed in our top league.

Greg

If I could give rangers fans some advice it would be if you are easily annoyed by modern footballers and social media then don't fucking go looking at players Instagram accounts.

G Calder

It will be great if they ban these plastic pitches - it says it all when you cant play certain players on plastic pitches . It is without doubt an unfair advantage . I really hope this vote goes through .. Also good news if grass pitches are improved ..

Martin Boyd

Only good thing the B team is for at the moment is ffp. I know that’s not by design but it is just drifting along and has been for 2 seasons. Whereas I would rather it was there to provide first team players .

Glen Kane

It's hard to make a case for excluding artificial pitches when every other aspect of our league is Mickey Mouse.

Stephen

Great tune. That album doesn’t have a bad song on it.

Russ

There needs to be minimum expenditure on pitches as well as expulsion of the plastic turf. Not sure how that would work though, maybe it should come out of European earnings in some way?

Stephen

Could the reason for not sending B team players out on loan be the need for homegrown players to fill up our European squad? The

Colin Mathie

A years grace period regarding the removal of plastic pitches should be enough time.

Andrew Barrie

Saw Idlewild at Kentish town last year doing a Scottish Fiction anniversary show. They've still got it

DEREK DICKSON

Why does it need to be a vote? Our governing body are happy to let clubs drag down the standards of our game. There should be a minimum standard of pitch conditions. Fed up watching games getting played on diabolical pitches. It diminishes the product and allows clubs to use their pitches to act as a leveller when playing better teams. Down south has one of the best run leagues in the world and we seem adamant not to follow their example. The pitches are only the tip of the iceberg.

Spot on re social media use, read the room it's not difficult

JimGLW

Very good David. Agree with all of that on social media posts. If they want to do it then be smart enough to read a room.

JimGLW

I think people are more annoyed at constantly getting beefed by celtic and passing points away to dross.

David Kiltie

Yet another change at the Academy. I do think the club should persist with trying to make it better rather than be resigned to failure. Looking for positives - McCausland’s progress to the first team, the U18s winning the Youth Cup, our B team going the furthest in the SPFL Trust trophy of all the Premiership B teams. Slim pickings but better than nothing.

David Simpson

I hope that there is talk about the officials, because when was the last time we beat Celtic and there wasn't talk over the next month about refereeing conspiracies?!

Alastair McGeoch

I hope we are talking about the refereeing team on Saturday night as it would likely mean we had won the cup! I mean, refs are only the talk of Scotland when Rangers are winning games….😏

Douglas Innes

There's not a top league in Europe that has an artificial pitch the 5 leagues in England there is no artificial pitch .....they are not good for football , the ball doesn't roll as such it skips along the surface it doesn't " nestle " like a ball on a grass pitch does and anyone who has one there players take 2 touches and get rid

Andy Barnett

I think we’re annoyed with the constant defeats against Celtic, collapses in the league, winning very little, and seeing overpaid premadonas pretend like they give a fuck.

Robbie McCarroll

Killie have applied for a new training pitch with 500 seats to facilitate grass pitch upgrade. Council holding it up due to local traffic complaints but looks a goer. Huzzah !

I would take a year of honesty from the board and manager if we saw a real sea change in terms of signings, style and more youth integration next season. The options are we keep juggling jelly and then wonder why at some point we have a collapse each season. We need a total recalibration as a club and stumbling season to season trying to patch up as we go is a dereliction of custodianship by the board, any board. I refuse to accept we could t with our budget And the right coaching challenge for the league with a proper blueprint, reasonable scouting, willingness to buy local and giving manager (and players) time to settle into a system. We need to transition the B team players to the first team far quicker. Buying the best young talent from the EPL academy’s is one part of the model but playing them has to be the next part. Lovelace and Yfeko for example were excellent business but rarely feature, I get that Lovekace got injured but he was in the Millwall first team playing games but came up to stagnate up here and it won’t be attractive for these guys for long if we don’t give them a platform to come here. Far too often we call our home grown guys kids that need time while we import youngsters from abroad and slide them straight in, it’s a domestic market snobbery that just doesn’t work and it makes the B team pointless for me. We end up with guys at 22 who in football terms have missed about 5 years of proper first team exposure while provincial guys their age have 100 odd senior games in the legs. We can skirt around it but for a club our size it’s poor. As anyone knows I’m not a fan of Cantwell, over hyped, under performs, inconsistent but nothing says I’m Norwich level than posting goals when you only scored a handful al season and think your deserving of a free role in a team. Ironically the last few games I have actually been relatively impressed by some of Cantwells play but the mentality just isn’t there to be a Rangers player and we have to stop forgetting his past, this is why he doesnt stay in a managers plans. We could have just used Lowrie if we wanted a mop top guy wins ring his talent by playing the class clown and craving attention as to me they will have similar career arms if they don’t scree the nut. I have binned social media bar here so couldn’t care less what he does on instagram or twitter but whether you are on these platforms or not you hear about the players nonsense in fan or mainstream media and it’s just a distraction we don’t need. It just smacks of attention seeking and an immaturity that doesn’t suggest he will be reliable in the trenches when needed. Shame as he does have talent but the work ethic and focus just doesn’t seem to be there. If we get the right players in and we show we are making root and branch change I have real faith we can have a good season, I think Clement like Gio just needs backing and time to make change. If however we try and patch things again this cycle is doomed to repeat. Just my 2p worth and I know others won’t agree but we seem to have tried the broken guys, the past it stars, the exotics and we have chopped through managers all for little return and nothing that resembles a foundation to build on. There seems little point doing the same again, what have we got to lose going back to basics, shopping closer to home with the odd gem sprinkled in but focusing on robustness, work ethic and pace. Can’t be any worse than the last decade.

More Idlewild on the DU please Davie!

I've genuinely got the Fear about the game this Saturday and have Zero confidence in any one of our players pulling a shock against Them. I know the old saying "It's a Cup Final, anything can happen". I can honestly say that I had more confidence in the Team that put Them out of the 2015/16 Scots Cup in the Semi's, than I do for this Group of players today. It's a sad state of affairs as we have went so far backwards that we are now in a rebuilding phase which we all know takes time and while that's taking It's time, Them across the City will quite happily and easily stroll towards another 9IAR 🤢🤮🤧🤕 and make our tag of The Worlds Most Successful Club, a thing of the Past. Cantwell is talented but not the type of player can pull a win out the bag for his Club, he's more interested in his Stats and Social Media likes. Time to sell IMO. List of who I think needs to leave this Summer along with the Loanees and Out of Contract players: Goldson, Davies, Souttar Balogun (reluctantly as he's likeable but doesn't save his job) King and McCrorie (They are both wasted at Rangers) John McClaughlin Wright Cantwell (he just can't seem to hit that next level that we need) Raskin (overrated), Lawrence (too many injuries) Roofe (he's been done for 3 yrs) Dessers (22 goals but misses Way too many chances). There'll be more but based on what I've listed, it doesn't make for good reading.

John Palmer

Agreed, if we don't want to be seen as Tinpot, then don't have a Tinpot League. It's that simple.

Greg

Don't go seeking out social media posts then, it's very simple.

Paul

You don't have to follow them or go looking for them. I don't follow any player on social media. Yet I still saw the post. It was daft and fans can be pissed off, or not. That's their choice.
