Problem with Davies is he’s easily bullied,A bit powderpuff for our league,

David

I can't believe the Atalanta wage bill is less than ours. Wow!

Alan Weir

It’s unlikely, but it would be nice to see the Rangers support give new, young, dynamic players a fair chance rather than starting threads on FF saying they are useless/waste of a jersey/shitebags after the first dropping of points next season. And I agree, the workrate of those Atalanta players was absolutely central to their victory.

Jeb

Idlewild and Alice in Chains in the same week Davie!

William Mcdonald

In contrast to "Scott wright gets better the longer he's out" Ben Davies gets worse the longer he's out 🤣 is he really as bad as folk make out?

Jeb

Just need to sort Colin's Friday jukebox. 😉

Martin Boyd

No. Never has been but he isn’t Katic a kick your granny CB so folk don’t like him. I think he is fine , not great , cost too much which again goes against him.

Graeme McLeod

He's not awful, but he's also not particularly good. Which isn't acceptable given the fee we paid for him and the outlay on his wages. None of that is his fault, but he's been a poor signing.

Graeme McLeod

You never know about Cortes - Joselu got signed by them last year at 33. Bit different as he'd been on their books before, but seems like Real are open to signing veterans to do a job for a year or two these days. (Still very unlikely though, but still.)

Russ

I just think if you've got 'Big 6' teams down south blooding youngsters and winning with them in the team with the millions who watch those games then we've got no excuse at all in regards to pressure. Don't get me wrong, I'd shake on Ross McCausland being a good rotation option for us over the next 5 years and I think so would he. Having a couple of academy players play 2000 minutes a season isn't really that outlandish when a club plays 60 games a season.

Graeme McLeod

We also have produced young players with talent who the club haven't developed properly. The constant changing of managers hasn't helped, but players like Lowry, King and McKinnon haven't been developed properly. (I know Lowry's loan at Hearts didn't go well, but people need to keep in mind the young lad lost his mum last year and his manager seemed to be leaking to the press he had a "bad attitude.") Before that we were loaning players out to League Two teams down south managed by Gerrard's pals, which did nothing for us. McCausland has shown promise this season, and Devine showed promise on loan at Motherwell. But going forward we need a proper development plan for guys that show promise.

Scott Davidson

Very disheartening to hear Cortes already has his eyes on a move away from us 😞

Gregg

Doesn’t seem physically robust enough - sadly needed in this league. Interesting insight from the goldson interview recently where he talked about having to bulk up when he came here

Brett

Clarke is equating being in training to being fit, because he is a donkey in my opinion

Granters

I was at that Barras gig when Alice toured this album.

Robbie McCarroll

On Hagi I think he is very fast in regards to the assisting the assist type move. He moves the ball very fast I know that’s not the same as the dynamic press but I always wonder what a good manager could do with Hagi. Admittedly this may be my heart speaking as I am a big Hagi fan, he has a great attitude, can pass and shoot there must be a spot for him in my opinion.

Gregg

I like him too - takes all sorts to make a team, that said I don’t think he’ll be back with us. Hopefully he has a good Euros

Gordon Millar

On the Atalanta win last night..... totally agree and said that to my friends and family last night, the organization, aggression not to mention a fair sprinkling of workrate & skill......I'd love a Rangers team like that....spot on Sir!

Dave Fleming

If Jefte is Brazilian then is his name not pronounced with a J (Portuguese style) rather than an H (Spanish)?

JimGLW

Spot on about Hagi, David. He's become a bit of a myth.

Martin Sutherland

The club are largely to blame on the youth front. King clearly needed a loan and nothing was done, McKinnon could be like McCausland and be a squad player and Lowry was sent on a loan to a team with a style that didn’t suit his. Right now the academy should be binned, unless something dramatic changes.

I came to the conclusion years ago ,that optimum fitness is a prerequisite to cause an upset against better opponents . Along with many other Rangers supporters, it has been notable , the lethargy that has been evident throughout the first team . With the exception of the Europa final season. I wholeheartedly agree , that the performance of Atlanta ,removes the idea that teams based on financial supremacy are beyond us. Most elite clubs , have elite fitness . We need to be ready to exceed their components of fitness on any given day. Optimum physical fitness is essential to allow our full technical quality to be illuminated in any match too. Let’s hope we recruit accordingly in this regard .

John McTrusty

David, We have not been able to execute a high press since Scott Arfield triggered the press. As his legs ran out of steam, his contribution was as a high energy impact player. Scott has a sharp mind and reacts quickly. By comparison, Ryan Jack is slow of thought, ponderous and is never fit. He has been part of the problem you highlight in our style of play. Slow, side to side and dull. How we chose to keep him ahead of Scott Arfield still.has me shaking my head. Also, dismiss Hagi if you will, and I agree he is not the fastest, but he is two moves ahead in his brain than most of our current group of players

Mr J K Murray

your mavellous insights on pace have made me go for prematch sqigs' of fanta (Fanta originated from the German word Fantastisch, meaning fantastic,America change to fanta,It still has sugar content twice that amount of Classic Coca-Cola at 11g per 100m,not comnent on the colour of different dyes in fanta, started in Germany 1941,hic,Italy has 3 times amount of sugar than UK Fanta & must have drank it last night),any truth to rumours SG will make bids to move our squad along to the changes we all see needed than just having assets like our young players, why put both UK cup games on at the same time,by law it is free to air but its not as they clash, our injuries are beyond belief in silver wear games, all in blue sir,

Gary Brown

Agreed. He's quick in the mind too and contributed a decent number of goals and assists at Rangers. Important goals too. His impetus is good, impactful, a different thing to raw pace! I don't think the Gaffer would just move on such a 'free' asset without giving him a closer look first. We need something different middle to front and Lundstrum has been just far too pedestrian; in the head, ball control, vision & then passing on. It's always the 'trying to break down the low block' problem in regular league business, much harder to do when our centre mid gives them all the time they need to settle and it's where we've failed time after time since 55. Not a traditional #8 but Hagi is progressive, attack minded & technically solid. He was studying the #8 role when injured, often said he reckoned his future could be in the centre mid (quarterbacking) role. Let's face it - as of now everyone has Beale down as a clueless twat and it was him who put Hagi out on loan in the first place.
