Rumours of Lundstrum taking cortisone injections for last 6 weeks.

mark wyper

Should be looking forward to this as loads of other teams would love to be in the final but I can't wait till it's done and then we can get rid of the players that have been here to long and the start of hopefully a successful new era.

Gary Smith

Would be tempted to play Dowell at left back if Yilmaz doesn’t make it. Allows Sterling to play in midfield where we need his physicality.

Chris Scott

Lads, Tav at CB? Jack at RB? Mon...

CJT

Lundstrum will play. Lost count of the number of players who’ve lost the head in an old firm game and let us down. Happens. His piss poor form is more of a problem. Lack of match fit alternatives will decide it though. Same across the team. It’ll be who’s fit. What those guys do off the ball is really key. Choke the path to the more dangerous players and they’ll get frustrated. Then if we can take the chances we’ll be given we’ll be ok. Don’t do either it’ll be familiar story.

Stephen Fraser

That news on Ridvan has just taken any dregs of enthusiasm I had, away. Not that I think he’s critical to a win, just the fact it’s happened again. Absolutely hoping for a miracle. No idea what to expect

Stace1ofthePeople

Similar feeling to everyone. Bit deflated considering we are in a cup final. Expecting a shit show, same mistakes and missing sitters. The fitness and injuries of the team is actually appalling and alarming to say the least. It's bordering on unprofessional for a club like rangers. Fucking sick of hearing players are injured. Can't go the distance with half a squad. We would be better off with players who aren't as good but work hard and stay fit than some of the players we have.

JimGLW

Us continually losing goals from defensive laspes from full backs isn't anything to do with the Rangers support being "obsessed" and the amount of times we lose them can't be excused as just one of those things given how often it happens.

Ronald Fraser

We just can’t let Tav try keep up with Maeda again… it won’t work. I’d put Sterling on him, move Tav 1 up into midfield. We are short of players … so Lunny kinda has to start.

David P

Can’t believe anyone thinks Jack is anywhere near match fit to start against Maeda in a cup final Yes we have a lot of defensive players injured but Jack is never starting at RB

David Kiltie

If Ridvan doesn’t make it that is a major blow. Is Barisic fit? With Forrest in great form we can’t take risks in the left back area. If Borna is out then maybe go with Sterling there. This might mean Lundstram in midfield as part of a tight three with Raskin or Diomande. Alternatively we could take the riskier option of Cantwell as the 10. With McCausland in good form we can probably do without Sterling wide right. The other major decision - Dessers or Silva leading the line. If it’s Silva then there’s the vacancy wide left. Sima won’t last 90 minutes so Scott Wright may have to start. Or a curveball - Cantwell wide left, which would allow us to retain the tight midfield three. Big Phil must feel he is playing Jenga. If only we could clone Sterling and play him in four different positions!

Al Robert

I had to rewind when I heard this as thought I must have got it wrong. Then I thought dropping Tav was ambitious but to play him at centre half in an old firm is even wilder.

David Angus

Totally agree mate. The positioning argument doesn't wash with me either. It's like a snooker player saying he keeps getting the white in the correct position and missing the pot. This was gonna be my point and all I was going to add was either Raskin or Lundstrum don't fill me with confidence at all.

Graeme Duncan

Thanks guys, appreciate all your pods this season and hope to hear you back next season.

Andrew Lees

Thanks for all the hard work guys. Excellent pods throughout the season and much appreciated

LAURENCE MACRAE

Thanks for the previews all season Gents, really enjoyed them

Granters

Not a chance with a contract about to expire and a new one to find.

Granters

Sad to say it but the only thing i’m really looking forward to about this final is the fact it’s bringing the curtain down on some of these players. Just scunnered with this season. Scunnered with the constant injuries and players who are just not up to it and who should never have been signed in the first place.

stevan castrissios

Iain ramping up the battle fever for me. Let’s go. Tav winning goal.

Martin Davies

Thanks for the preview shows this season lads, can't have been easy at times. We've been underdog in these games before and triumphed so here's hoping.

Ranger1972

Excellent analogy. Tiresome argument this on these pods by Alex that any time we as fans criticise something fairly obvious we are obsessed. We continually concede goals at the back post on both sides and have done for years. It can’t be anything other than the fault of our full backs.

Douglas Innes

Late team news screwing up a pod is just a knock on from what's happend on the park it's a far reaching malaise 🤣🤣, until i listened to this pod i was more for atanding ip to them as i feel we afford them way too much space to dictate the game id much prefer man for man and win your individual battles, love the previews and the insight so thanks for the season all of you

Scott Farquhar

100% on Cantwell and Silva, why some fans are intent on driving our best talent away is beyond me!

Spoon

Enjoyed the pods all year gents, some wild takes and great food for thought in equal measure but always entertaining. Given the mood in the camp and the fact that we all have our heroes and villains set in our minds regardless of logic my final thoughts on the team more than the selection would be: Lundstum shouldn’t play again, I could live with Dowell better than I could him coming back in, zero upside in Lundstrum and just haven’t ever seen what others do in him, of the imposters we have he’s the biggest for me. Cantwell just isn’t either my type of player or person. A guy who can’t put in a full games effort and to my eyes is an individual and not a team player. I would choose graft over flair every day, wouldn’t play him. Silva did indeed play well last game but was anonymous the previous game and his diving and antics are utterly me embrassing, to use Alex phrase to curb discussion…and I don’t care what anyone says to the contrary. Given we aren’t full of hope, given it is bare bones and a punt why not use the young boy at left back. As has been discussed elsewhere if we can’t use our youth why have them ? He isn’t a kid, other guys in other leagues are playing games at his age and it’s time we either put them in or shut it down for a B team. The personnel doesn’t concern me near as much as the attitude we go in with and the controlled aggression we are willing to show. They aren’t that good, if we are brave, and on the front foot when we have possession we can hurt them. I would like to see us get people far closer to Dessers who I think was excellent last time out and despite all the critics who had until then been slating his lack of goals vs them still being unable to give him and credit I think he will score again if given supply. We will all know within 10-15 minutes how the day will pan out. For me it’s simple, if we take the game to them and win our battles the longer they don’t score the stronger we will get. If we give them a start then have to chase it we will struggle. 0-0 or even 1-0 either team into the second half we have a chance, we just can’t give that 2-0 start we have in the last. Thanks again for your time lads.

Eric Brownlie

Loved the preview pods this season so thanks to all the guys involved. Don’t always agree with everything said but that’s healthy and it’s good to hear different perspectives. Hope you can get all 4 of you on at times again next season.

David Gilhooly
