Jim McCutcheon

Don't want him stroll on cordoba, but this is going to be a very difficult time for the club and fans, the pressure on PC to get this right is huge 😐

Ryan Stewart

Certainly not an ideal start to the window. Cordoba was clearly a priority target and we’ve not got him even after having him in the building. We move on though, hopefully there is other deals in progress as well incase this happened Does pose a question of how attractive we are to these up and coming players from abroad? It’s not as if we can point to a list of players and say look at what these guys have went on to after signing for Rangers. For these guys without an emotional connection to club who have other options this is going to form part of their thinking

Simon H&H

Would rather see Hagi get a crack than the current number 10s we have 😃

Heart and Hand

It absolutely is, unfortunately. More and more players choose a league ahead of a particular club. To use a recent example, that brilliant PSV midfielder who left a great team playing well and in the CL to sign for Nottingham Forest.

Craig McWhinnie

Tbh I know nothing about Cardoba past whats been spoken about past month or so but still really disappointing, aye you have a short list or should do of players and aye you don’t always get your main target but losing out on players because of the standard of other teams in the league is a sickener. Plus Cardoba’s reasons for wanting to go there aside the embarrassment of losing out on a player to Norwich is just another stick for Celtic fans to hit us with

Lewis Wardrope

Seeing some things on twitter saying that Jack might be getting a new deal. Surely not?

Craig McWhinnie

On Hagi, everyone has had a clean slate with Clement so I don’t see why he should be treated any differently especially if he has a somewhat decent euros

Heart and Hand

For me it’s simply because he doesn’t fit what we need to be doing. We have skilful but slow no 10s.

David Smart

Out of all the dodgy decision in old firms this season and there was an actual cover up with one of them (by our now head of refereeing). The one that got the most publicity was the penalty we were awarded for a clear foul on silva. That’s why we need people in the media out pushing our narrative.

Alan Weir

Slowly but surely Hagi’s star is rising the longer he is away. No pace before his injury, what’s he going to be like now? And his first missed match through an injury, “Why did we give him a squad spot?” will be the deafening cry.

David Innes

Wouldn’t shock me if he gees another year - low wages and counts as home grown

Alan Weir

These tweets weren’t alongside the sure-to-come “What are Morelos and Kent doing now?” tweets.

Lewis Wardrope

I understand that we need to have a certain amount of homegrown players, but we’d be as well signing a jobber from an SPFL team who would at least be fit for most of the season. Clement can’t complain about the fitness levels and players who are constantly injured, then give somebody who played 11 leagues games this season a new deal. But I’m with you, I wouldn’t be shocked. Same reason Scott Wright won’t be moved on this summer

Ryan Stewart

Aye Sangare, cracking player. Don’t think he even played all that much for Forest either It’s unfortunate, but if your a player and your goal is to make it to a top 5 league. Current evidence shows you are more likely to achieve that from the Championship than you are Rangers

Scott Kerr

Going to be a long summer, thankfully I have the download festival to keep my mind off it all 🤘🤘🤘

Stevie lawson

In all honesty,I’m not bothered we’ve missed out on cordoba,If he doesn’t want to be here we move on,I’m quite sure we’ve got a list of players to go back on if a certain target wishes not come,

Scott Kerr

Friday Queens of stone age, Saturday Fall out boy Sunday Avenged sevenfold. Have seen better over the years but this is our 10th time going over the years. Not many left as getting too old 😞

Scott Kerr

I am getting that way, but still do far too many gigs per year. Wife goes nuts about the tickets I buy. Got vended tonight at the cathouse ...then 30 Seconds to mars before download and green day when we get back 😂🤘

Graham Roy

On the basis I know nothing about cordoba then not going to get upset! Hopefully we can get some players in over the next few weeks!

Andrew Rennie

David, i haven't listened to today's update yet so you may have already said though unlikely. Was there not murmurings that we got barron on a pre contract from Aberdeen a few months ago. Do you think there was anything in them

Scott Kerr

Seen Weezer and smashing pumpkins before and Big Country about 20 years ago....

Graham Jones

It’s good to see a kid with his head screwed on deciding to stay put and work on his game. It’s a big decision, but if he makes it here he’ll still have people beating down his door to sign him, and we’ll make a good return on him. EPL and MLS were throwing money at him apparently, so a big win. It’s going to be a long summer for the transfer market, what with the Euro’s and all, so strap in. I knew absolutely nothing about Cordoba so no big deal. So long as we don’t get another load of Championship failures. The most over rated league in the world.

Robbie McCarroll

I’d take Rice, McKinnon or any other youth player over Jack, that’s maybe 10 games that could go towards finding a new talent . Even at low wages that’s still money for nothing…

Lynsey Roddy

I read & took a screenshot of a post on ‘X’ saying the deal for Cordoba wasn’t happening because Koppen had totally buggered it up by underestimating his transfer fee. The post was 2 days ago. I thought nothing of it then but it’s fallen through as it said. Coincidence……

James McSween

Full time referees should be number 1 priority. I would also like to see foreign referees for OF games with the announcement held off until night before game.

Andrew Hind

Once an English team come in for a player we want they just blow us out of water unfortunately

Andrew Carter

David , you not doing Glasgow Big City ? Mogwai , Nadine Shah , Slowdive etc , a one day event at Queens Park

DEREK DICKSON

With regards to professional referees. It wouldn't be feasible to have our own pool of professional refs as a tin pot association like ours would never be able to afford or manage such a scenario. Could we bin our amateur refs from our top flight and hire 6 professional refs each week from the pool of refs down south?? Seems okay for refs to referee games outwith their associations for eufa and fifa competitions, why not tap into an already created group of better standard referees??

Hendi

Professional refs wouldn't make a difference. They already get very well recompensed, let off their work continually and get awarded UEFA/FIFA matches, so they obviously don't see an issue with their quality, so wouldn't expect any improvement from being Full Time. I've never celebrated a goal more than Lundstram against Leipzig and the "equaliser" against them in April (that was ironically chopped off) wasn't too far off that celebration either. If there was no VAR we would have had 3? Penalties awarded all season! For that reason it's well worth keeping.

Alphabeat

Katic effect? More like the Charlie Telfer effect - Remember those days, when it seemed, that every RFC fan were losing their head when Dundee Hibernian were about to sign him from us, even though we had seen very little of him! BTW, Telfer plays for Airdrieonians now! Apologies, for rekindling some bad memories!

Andrew Hillis

Who the hell chooses Norwich over Rangers FFS?😱😱🤬 not a great start given the likely time and effort we have spent putting the deal together! However if he doesn’t want to come despite our European involvement and performances in recent years then get tae! 🤣

Colin Hutchison

Have the club pulled the plug on the Cordoba deal or has he chose Norwich?

Mark

I think for all the talk about pathways to the first team for young players we don't talk enough about the player developing enough or earning the opportunity. Very rarely do we see a player who didn't get that chance, leave and prove us wrong

Derek Stevenson

Galdames is playing right now for his club in the Cup and playing very well. At left back.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David & Cammy. Pro refs? Well unless it's set up as a completely independent body providing a service to the clubs, with service level agreements on performance it'll only mean more salary for those giving us the shitshow we see now. Needs started from scratch. Refs applying for a job like in any other new company. Needs separated from the SFA to get away from the bowling club mentality, corrupted & controlled by that mhob. Sadly will never happen. Costs money. No desire to change, too many snouts in the trough. Pro refs great idea, like VAR. But once it gets the Jockanese treatment ie buy the tech off Temu and drawing lines with a crayon & ruler on a screen with certain 'minded' people calling the shots, it's worse than useless. As things stand we as a support need to radically change the way we watch matches, especially at Ibrox. We can all agree there's more than a fair share of toxicity during games. Most of it towards our own. That has got to be turned toward the officials who are, and who have previously, wronged us. That mhob have InTIMidation, we need to make it unBEARable for refs to apply a different standard to us. Turn the frustration and toxicity towards the officials. But that's not 'The Rangers Way' I hear you cry. 100% right but the world isn't run that way anymore, 2024 not 1924! The Rangers Way isn't working or winning this battle. Dignified silence and a resolve to try harder to overcome isn't winning. I've been going for almost 50yrs. Seen good and bad teams on both sides of the OF. Been on top, seen them on top. Rightfully. Just whatever team being stronger at the time. Groaned about poor ref decisions going against us, chuckled about ones against them. I've always given officials their due though, they can have poor games like players. Welcomed the benefits of VAR, we get some and some go against - resultant on what has actually happened! But for the first time ever, this season I'm looking at the game and not seeing poor performance, I'm seeing 'bent'! Rewind as far back until they get a foul to award to rule our goal out? Only considering (and showing) one of the 5 or 6 pushes in the SCF? Etc, etc. That's not officiating the game, that's directing it to a pre-determined outcome! I'm NOT suggesting we cheat like they do. We are looking for equality and we're going to have to scream and shout to get it.

I was on community work yesterday and listening to a playlist I made called ‘inoffensive 90s Americana’ you know Pearl Jam, Gin blossoms, counting crows, proper flannel shirt friends soundtrack stuff, when I flipped onto the update the Green Day intro led to confusion on my part
