That’s a bop Colin

Good stuff as ever Col and top quality start. "Close" season. None of this ridiculous "Off" season nonsense that has crept in over the last few years. Well done.

Great pod. My fear with the South American market is can the player hack it here with our winter

Gordon Rae

Someone who would rattle cages at the SFA/SPFL would be Simon Jordon. Footballing background and multi-million pound business experience

Billy Forrester

My Gers does not generate 19 million per season, cannot be that as it’s 40 a head and if u say 50,000 my Gers members that’s 2 million so where ur getting 19 million a year alone from My Gers I think u are very much mistaken Colin unless we have half a million my Gers members each season

John Myles

There’s only one that I want as the new ceo and that’s Andy Smillie

Tamus

Colin £19,000,000 from Mygers means 475,000 signed up members

Tamus

All these partners and still couldn't buy a striker in winter As much use as an ashtray on a motorbike

Graham Jones

My Gers is a loyalty scheme, and that’s why it made money. They don’t have a membership scheme, because they are open to everyone, no matter where they live in the world. Membership scheme would’ve probably made more money, but My Gers was aimed at the local market, and the season ticket holders in particular. I still think Bisgrove didn’t do anything spectacular, because any normal marketing exec would’ve done the same as him. Trying to make us play on a Celtic marketing tour was naive in the extremeGlad to see the back of plastic pitches. They have no place in the top league. Two season is generous to allow people to adapt, so there can be no excuses.

Colin

Yeah that’s not came across properly when I’ve been going through it. Apologies. £19m in total was MyGers, hospitality, merchandising and RTV. I believe MyGers is about £2m a year of that.

Just to avoid any confusion I don’t think I’ve been clear / I’ve misspoke when going through the MyGers figures. £19m in total was MyGers, hospitality, merchandising and RTV. I believe MyGers is about £2m a year of that. Apologies for any confusion.

We'd be lucky to have Davie Weir in any capacity

A lot of the positive stuff Bisgrove did was in his previous role. Not really sure we know if he did a good job as CEO or not.

Rangers are playing in top level later stages of European club competition. I think the SPFL undersells the product , in spite of the debacles this season, so for these reasons I think we should be ambitious and confident to obtain much improved elite sponsorship. If we accept paltry finance , because SPFL is shit , we would be as well getting the local Aldi management team to apply as the new CEO. I happen to think Rangers must be smarter , in providing the right environment for elite business to associate with the club. One way we can do this, is to stop allowing SME to use our shirt for advertising , for derisory financial returns for the club. Colin is correct to highlight that serious football sponsors are selective with their branding, they desire exclusivity ,and think long and hard about negative association, and dilution of brand image , with multiple imaging on a jersey. I think this would prohibit the investment in the club, that we need, a lot more than the geography or reputation of our league. So with the greatest respect , I think bisgrove’s commercial legacy , is not quite as impressive , as being expressed, by some of the observers of his tenure . He did provide incremental financial improvements , whilst adopting unorthodox business practice with supporters , that were not mutually beneficial , his achievements were from a very low base , in our clubs history . Our club deserves a whole lot better , to progress as we all want.

These South Americans are not living up to their stereotypes at all are they.😂😂

Michael Gray

All comes down to the individual. So many of our EFL recruits can’t hack it, regardless of time of year

Very informative pod Colin. Thanks 👍
