Colin the half Christmas thing is interesting I used to manage a pub in Aberdeen; just along from Pittodrie in amongst a good number of tenements (so lots of regulars!) I had a Christmas party on June 25th and a shirts n shades beach party at Christmas For the June I’ve I phoned a local party hire shop to rent a Santa suit and when I explained why they sold me boxes of Christmas crackers cheap to get rid of them. I got all sorts of abuse when I started planning it but the locals were still talking about it years later.

Today is the Bo’ness Fair Day. Every school participates and it’s built around a Queen being crowned on a huge stage then decorated floats drive hundreds of kids around the town. Its huge. My husband (English) couldn’t believe it when I first took him. He thought it was akin to The Wickerman gone wild.
