Last weekend, Hoggy was in Glasgow and went to Ibrox and see Walter's statue for the first time with his youngest son. Wee Lewis asked questions about Walter and the great man becomes the focus for today - we haven't celebrated Walter's statue unveiling given the unveiling dates!

So – Hoggy is back with your favourite Walter memories and stories so that Saturday kicks off with YOUR stories of (for many of us) OUR gaffer.

Walked through from the living room to the kitchen as Hoggy read out the comment from Sir Duncan, “The night a team was born”. Unconsciously gritting my teeth and pumping my fist. The good lady just gives me that look n shakes her head. 😂 You either get it or you don’t. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Walter Smith’s blue and white army! Brilliant listen. Thousands of memories and a truly unique man.

Mr Rangers. I feel honoured to have grown up supporting our club during the great man’s tenure. He made me feel ‘safe’, I always knew our club was in safe hands. God bless the gaffer 💙 PS wonderful pod Hoggy, thank you.

There’s not much more I can say about the great man than what many have said before. I’ve not been over to see him but a mate sent me a photo and said the location wasn’t great as there was a whole load of cars parked behind him. I kind of agree albeit I’ve not been over and what do others think of the location? I know our fans have become super critical over the last while and please understand this isn’t one of these posts. I’ve also deliberately stayed off every social media post about the new top as I know what’s there but was there no other location more deserving unless there’s plans to pedestrianise the section behind Walter.

Great show, and what fantastic memories. My biggest wish is that the Rangers generation to come has a manager as successful and as iconic to tell their children about.

Wonderful pod for a wonderful man. Uncle Walter with his knitted waistcoat. I love that Gerrard took the League trophy for him to see before he passed and he knew we were back at the top. 💙

Going down to see the statue next week when I visit the museum for the first time. This show has got me buzzing even more! 👏

George Millar

A great great man. The happiness and joy he brought to us all. (The Copland Nutter - Another great memory of that time).

Scott Wright (Not That One)

Great Pod and could listen to Walter stories/memories all day long. He gave us so much it’s just unbelievable! I was lucky enough to have the great man himself along with Ally and Durrant come play golf at the course I worked on at the time and anytime they were there they would take the time from their game to take photos and have a wee chat and laugh despite holding up other golfers plus us staff were meant to be working but who’s going to tell Sir Walter to get a move on! Was in sheer awe of the man and feels like a dream looking back but I still have the photos so I still check them just to confirm it actually happened. Great Rangers man but overall just a great man! Never will there be another like him.

Brilliant memories. Thanks Hoggy and everyone who shared memories. Need to go wipe these tears away now 💙

Calum Robertson

The image of Walter Smith running along the touch line arms raised roaring at the enclosure celebrating Erik Bo Andersen scoring… And of course just as I’m typing this that is just what you are talking about

Cameron McIver

Brilliant tributes to the great man. Best memories for me are that night in Florence and the 2011 league cup final versus the other lot - vintage Walter.

Gregg

Great show Hoggy - enjoyed that
