Hello we are recording the next few weeks of RBR tomorrow due to Andy going away on holiday to Millport for a fortnight next week.

So can you tell us your examples of things considered the norm but really aren’t these days.

Examples like:

We don’t really need cash anymore, people kick off about keeping it but it doesn’t matter

Job interviews, sitting answering ridiculous questions for something you are clearly capable of doing

Exams at school don’t mean anything now. No point in learning certain skills to the nth degree anymore as we have such powerful computers, language models etc

Give us all your thoughts, sensible and wild!

Thanks

Jack Shaw

OTT delivery charges from Evri etc

Richard McLuckie

Buying a house is normal where most of the world, renting is very much the norm

Tookey

Shagging on the first date.

Craig Burrows

Italy are better than Switzerland at football

Danny McHugh

Your barber holding up a mirror to the back of your head after your haircut. You’re never telling him he’s made an arse of it. He could be holding up a picture of him riding your Mrs and yer still saying “perfect”, giving him a tip and leaving without a word!

Dean Anderson

Used to be the narrative that if you didn't drink alcohol you where a weirdo/one for the watching when in reality there's far more (especially younger) people ditching the drink/party lifestyle now in search of a healthier lifestyle

james whyte

Going to Millport on Holiday

Jack smith

Booster seats in cars for children that are taller than their Grannys but are a certain age do my fuckin nut in. Make absolutely no difference to fuckin anything.

James McConnachie

1) Manners. Everyone is such a rude c**t. 2) Going down the pub. Now it’s just sad divorced dads, raging jakeballs and groups of predatory middle-aged wimmin. Cheaper to buy a 4 pack and watch Prime. 3) Reading a book. Learning in general.

Kenny Dean

Dangerous ground, and I don't do it myself, but smacking your kids on the arse

Jack smith

Price of child care and kids clubs in general during summer holidays for summer camps weans end up having to get up earlier than normal sometimes and its the maws that fall for this crap just tell the weans to go out and play

Kenny Park

Suggestion, inspired by the “there’s no need for it” remark about cash. Why don’t you do a show about things that have become the new norm/just accepted that there is no need for…? Examples might be WOKE culture, recycling shit to the nth degree so your council doesn’t need to - therefore complicating your life, having to subscribe to 5 providers to watch football on TV, widespread personal abuse on social media… the list is endless…

Graeme McG

People being so open about their political views and letting them dictate every facet of their lives. Have a day off you absolute bores

Rona Bluebell

Having a television is apparently not the norm anymore and, to quote my 18 year old “like, really, like, old fashioned and, like, no one like does it”. Also constructing a coherent sentence without using the word ‘like’. 🙄

Martin Mcinnes

Everything is "Oh its a cost o living crisis" it's not, it's a cost of spending and wanting more than you can afford, looking over at what somebody else has or can afford and assuming you should have it and because you don't it's somebody fault, work harder, get a promotion or just accept you can't get a takeaway Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Paul Beckett

Travel agents. In 1990 I get it, today not in the slightest.

Stephen

Ten pin bowling shoes. Think they have started to be phased out in recent years but it shouldn’t have taken so long…

Rona Bluebell

Working 9 to 5. The world has moved on and people do 35 hours flexibly with core hours and evening hours to fit around their lives. Much more productive

Dylan Brand

Having to go into the office, where you can actually do the same work at home.

Alan Weir

The acceptance that dentists are the only method of getting our teeth checked needs to be questioned. They are, to a man and woman, six-monthly robbers who charge exorbitant fees for minimal medical care. Helpful comparison: your local doctor can clear up your heavy dose of gonorrhoea for less than a tenner*, whereas a dentist won’t fill a wee hole in your tooth for less than an arm and a leg. (*I’m told)

Jack

TV debates for elections. Figures show basically no one watches them and they make next to no difference (especially when the euros are on).

Gordon Mac

Shirt and tie, what is the point? Now I like getting the suit on for the odd occasion, hospitality at Ibrox, a wedding etc but day to day? I've done the same job for 20 years, used to be shirt and tie, then the tie went, and now I'm just in a t-shirt and black jeans

Gregg

Ties were designed to keep a shirt together before buttons. Should have been binned years ago

Gregor Anderson

Going into the town to get 'stuff'. High street becoming a thing of the past?

Gregg

All the twee shite that surrounds new year - absolute crap. Like the days off though

Gregg

Also - bagpipes. Seeing all the punters marching about with them at the euros - I work on the royal mile and it makes my ears bleed when I hear them. Up there with the recorder for shite musical instruments. When do you ever hear folk listening to them in their daily lives. Absolute nonsense

Mr J K Murray

tattoo's and earrings were seen as sissy, drain pipe & flared trousers were for oddies, females not covering their hair in church anymore & males not standing when a female enters the room, no longer bus ques,or ques in london just a boat crossing assembly, postage stamps being illegal & lack of ty at post offices, refuse collectors dressed as ninjas or mix & match military uniforms,

Gregg

Add in all the fucking leaflets - has anyone ever read one and thought, wait, I might change my mind

Kieran

The whole shite surrounding rules and price changes during covid. 99% of barbers were walk ins until lockdown. A haircut was a lot cheaper. And don’t even get me started on the bagels getting took off the McDonald’s breakfast menu during then and never coming back

Andy McGowan

Everybody you ever buy from or use a service from, asking for a review the day after. Ask me in a year's time!

Jack smith

4th officials holding there hand out when a sub is coming on and checking boots no onr has ever seen a 4th official find a problem with boots

Chris McFadyen

Calling your parents Ma/Da Mum/Dad not fucking Bruh' like my 9yr old calls both of us these days 😂

Graeme Robb

Walking round to your friend’s house after school and then going to play in the fields behind penciled road. Used to be the norm but now kids are driven to pre-approved play dates with agreed agendas

John Johnston

The honours system basically giving out knighthoods in recognition of basically doing their jobs. Should be only given to people eg volunteers in the local community who give up their time. Andy should get one for the Rangers accounts he does once a year on here.

Jamie Low

Rangers players used to walk across the road into the main entrance of ibrox, taking photos with supporters, signing autographs. They need to be protected by fences now…

Graham Twycross

Having a ....... awareness day/week. Used to be a big thing, now I'm celebrating weeks with with nothing on. Ripped the arse out it.

FINLAY CAMERON

Indicators on Cars, bastards in Audi's have proven that they are not required and therefore should be made obsolete 😆

Rob Cunninghame

Seems to be the fucking norm to wear those bam Nike shorts in all weathers now

Alan Weir

I tend to like your content, Gregg, but this is sacrilege. I listen to bagpipe music regularly and attend the World Championships at Glasgow Green every year. The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band are one of the greatest collection of musicians you’ll ever hear. Obviously anything connected to the Tartan Army and their parochial pantomime should be condemned in the strongest terms.

Gregg

Fair comment Alan - I just find it a bit cringe how we want to show off to the outside world as bagpipes and buckfast.

Tamus

"Th" isn't required anymore when you can just use "F"

Jack smith

The money folk happily waste at Christmas
