David Innes

Good player. Just not a good Rangers player. All the best Sam

Tom

Hallelujah!

Andrew Hillis

He might have been decent if played as a striker. But clearly has the heart of a mouse! Decent money - all the best Sam’

Andy Barnett

Good luck Sam. Given 9 minutes in his natural position in a Rangers shirt. Another Beale masterclass.

KennyY

Best of luck to the boy

Spoon

Hopefully that’s the Shankland money 👀

David Clapperton

Fee said to be £2.5m with add ons potentially rising to 4m but realistically we should be paying them for taking the useless bastard af oor hands. Good luck n all that. 👋🏻

David Kiltie

Good luck to him at Twente. I hope he finds his niche there after a nomadic career to date. Rangers was just not the right club for him. At least the club is getting things moving with player sales. If deals for Hagi, Goldson, Tavernier and Cantwell can be concluded then that’s the wage bill hugely reduced, the amortization charge on players’ contracts lower and plenty of cash in the door. The last 2 summers have seen major rebuilds which produced very poor returns. 3 years of poor squad management since 55 are now really hitting home. Maybe we just have to accept a fallow period whilst we undergo major surgery.

Graham Jones

Yeah, maybe they can get more players in now. Koppen seems to have made deals work now, but this has been a real slog this pre-season.

Heart and Hand

He's one of those players who suits a certain league but anywhere else is just not up to it. Eredivisie is right move for him.

Derek MacMillan

Good fee, all things considered. At least we're starting to see things moving now

Stewart Robertson

Hope it goes well for you big man. 🔴⚪️🔵

Craig

Gotta respect him if he’s taking a wage cut…? No hard feelings, and I have to give kudos to him for his mental fortitude after some of the stick he got at Ibrox. Have a smoke and pancake on me Sam 👌

Craig

I thought about this today and as mad as it may seem - I don’t think the weather and a mediocre Euros has helped either 🤷‍♂️ ‘Rip it up and start again…’

Tbf.....6 mths ago we never projected £2.5m with add ons.....unless we were paying it. Good luck to the boy was not to be.

Billy Forrester

Good luck to Sam, he didn’t want to fail and be shit with us and he obviously has talent, good deal for us as long as we now use that fee to get Shankland, who would guarantee goals in the SPL, who would be happy with 15,000 a week, more than triple his current wage at hearts whilst saving 15,000 a week on the wages we were reportedly paying Lammers, it’s a no brainer

Tamus

Good luck fella

Baz

Gifted player but Rangers just wasn’t the place for him unfortunately. Good luck yo him.

David Baillie

His poor record in the previous 3 years was there for all to see and yet we still signed him. This has to go down to Beale and Bisgrove. Well done to Kloppen for pulling this one out the fire.

Calum Robertson

Helps plug another leak in our wages. Hopefully Rangers learn from this experience

Gregg

Right fuck it - I’m in. All aboard the Shankland bus

Graeme McLeod

There's something to be said for this. I understand some leagues are of a higher standard than others, but there's also certain traits in different leagues. Some players struggle in certain leagues not because "it's too good a league," but because the pace, physicality etc of other leagues doesn't suit their game. It's not uncommon to see players from The Netherlands move abroad and struggle to adapt because of the differences. Overall we were pretty fortunate in the past in that most of our signings from the Dutch league adapted. Anyway, best of luck to him. Don't blame him for the contract we gave him and he was entitled to stick it out for the money, but respect that he's prioritised playing and actually enjoying his football.

Spoon

It’s a great point David and it works both ways, we should be looking to use that same logic when looking at domestic talent. It’s a weird intense, relentless league with huge physical demands, bringing in guys who we have seen can handle that at other SPFL clubs should be a higher priority for us. Not just Scottish born talent, rather talent that is suited to and flourishing in Scotland!

John Smith

We will always have Dundee

Graham Miller

It’s 2.5m more than we thought we’d get back in December last year. Now let’s cash in on Dessers and Cantwell Tav and Goldson

Kris

Seeeebo!!! MarkII
