If you take away pens, In the last 20 years only 2 rangers players have scored more than dessers, Morelos and Boyd, that will do me, it’s about time folk give this guy a break

Christopher Todd

Not a single transfer rumour to discuss. What worries me is Bennett will be delighted we got out with a draw last night and hoping we can just get by with dessers.

Jim McCutcheon

Yes a good performance which set's up the 2nd leg nicely, but we still require strengthening an hopefully that's going to happen soon, maybe this is the spark to better things 🤔, thanks again David 👍

Brian Auld

I just can’t understand the doom and gloom surrounding us. We’ve said we needed a clear out and now it’s happening. It’s going to take time and that’s just life. We’ve not played great but it’s not been all bad. We did well last night and have players still to come in with more to follow in and out. A few months ago Rodgers was under immense pressure and we looked good for the title. Now after a big disappointment it’s back to everyone at Rangers is terrible and we will never catch that lot. The board needs replaced, the team needs replaced - It just looks weak and pathetic really. With patience I believe it will come.

Fraser Ferguson

he's not a winning you the league striker tho and fails to bring other players in due to a poor first touch, particularly with his back to goal. Alfie & Boyd could do that.

Scott Tolmie

There’s plenty in that team not winning you a league but you add another striker who can score same amount of goals you don’t get rid of one.

Graham Roy

For what he is paid we are entitled to want a more rounded player. Yes others aren’t good enough and as a team we don’t score enough goals but there are better players than dessers. Even when peak Alfie didn’t score he created chances and worked the defence to give others room. Dessers doesn’t do that and his hold up play is awful at times.

Graham Roy

Any news on the elite court case? Appreciate you won’t have all the details but interested to see if this settlement will affect transfer budget?

KennyY

Absolutely agree. We have some really negative folk in our support, all doom and gloom. We have strengthened, and they haven’t. We lost the league last year from a position of strength. I have full confidence in the manager and recruitment team to deliver us the title this year

KennyY

100% but the naysayers won’t have their minds changed on him and will continue with their agendas. Couldn’t care less about them to be honest and thankfully neither does big Dessers.

stephen

I honestly want him to be the next Kris Boyd. He's possibly the most likeable player we've had in a long time. Doesn't let anything phase him and always keeps going.

John Breen

Good question. I thought that would have been addressed today. It’s big news

Jordan McKay

I’d be amazed if the club hadn’t already set money aside for the case. But then again, knowing our board…

Heart and Hand

Trying to find out more about it but as it's a closed settlement it's hard to get people to talk. Will discuss tomorrow.

Ryan Stewart

And the success we’ve had in the last 20 years has come when we’ve had the likes of Miller, Jelavic and Morelos upfront. Forwards whose games are about more than simply scoring goals. Dessers all around play is nowhere near good enough and that’s fine, but if all you are bringing to the team is goals and nothing outside of that I want 40 goals a season not 20

Scott Tolmie

Maybe take a look at dessers assists because he’s done more than score goals, if he was hitting pens he would have been well into the 30s and the guys you named all played with another striker who got goals, that’s our problem, 1 guy doing it isn’t enough

Ryan Stewart

I’ve watched him with my eyes for the last 12 months. Great big guy and can certainly contribute but we aren’t winning a league title with him as our number 1 ST I’m afraid

Graham Roy

Thanks David I appreciate you won’t get everything but just curious if it’s going to affect us on the field. Strikes me as another screw up by the board but I accept I’m coming at it from a negative view of them currently!

Graham Roy

We haven’t strengthened enough yet. We are currently weaker than last season however still a few weeks of window left for that to change.

Heart and Hand

Yeah, the mood music is positive about it from them but obviously until/if we know the details it's tough to judge.

Brian Auld

Agreed, I do remember many fans saying “best window in years” when we signed Lammers and co but then were frothing at the mouth wanting rid of them all not long after. Clearly we need quality not quantity but do have gaps to be filled. I also think others will improve.

Scott Tolmie

We aren’t winning the league with one guy scoring goals period, no matter who that one guy is, you need others chipping in and that’s the bigger issue.

Billy Forrester

Lot more upbeat and positive today than I have been in months. I love young Barron in that midfield role, full of grit and hard work and he will improve with us, we have a huge player on our hands, I’d love sterling in beside him in midfield, that’s a strong duo who won’t take prisoners and I’d play Diomande in front of them as I like him too. I still think we need to add a quality striker who does more than Dessers although fair play to Dessers, he played very well last night and I’d be happy to keep him as a back up but not the regular 9. I’d like to see Lovelace given a real run as last season before he got injured he showed up really well and looked strong and powerful with a good touch. Sort that defence out and we could be in business lads, optimism has returned 💙

David Baillie

Great shout David. For a while now my two biggest complaints with the team have been 1: We never seem to have anyone attacking the front post. 2: Our full backs seem to be completely incapable of stopping crosses coming in to our box.

Spoon

Graham in only two of the season he was with us did Morelos out score Dessers last year, on both those occasions he had 3 assists. The season he did get the same assist number as Dessers last year he scored 17 goals that season and folk were complaining he was dropping too deep and wasn’t in the box. He also played in teams that were far far better quality than this. I get you don’t like Dessers but his rerun is more than decent, if there are better out there in our budget why arent we burning them in ? I’m not sure there are better, bar possibly Shankland in our market. Danillo cost half as much again as Dessers and we have no idea if he is any good at the moment or if he will resume being able to play.

KennyY

Agree that we haven’t strengthened enough yet but for me Jefte, Propper, Nsiala, Barron, Diamande, Cerny are all upgrades on what we had last season. Believe Igumane will also be a positive signing when given a chance. Each to their own opinion though. Time will tell.

Graham Morrison

Great pod David, on point as usual.Couple of good results and we will be up and running! 👍⚽️
