Join Hoggy for the 299th edition of Hoggy's Hamper!

A draw and lots of negativity from Tynecastle (however, first game and a clean sheet) to a draw in Poland against Dynamo Kyiv / Kiev - a draw that certainly raised spirits after the announcement of the starting line up.

It's fair to say it's been a strange summer so far - but with more outgoing rumours and players starting to show (including Dessers' run and finish), so are things looking up?

Well..... you lot have your say. Enjoy!

Just got a feeling Clement will deliver if we stay calm. Safe journey home.

Listening to hoggy and how we are short on the wings and up top - what’s the latest with sima as he can play either side and up top if needed. The perfect type player we should be aiming for instead of buying 2/3 players for those positions

Opening comments spot on Hoggy. What’s the point of a forum if people don’t make their case, post their feelings and maybe even try to offer a different view or perspective. This season feels like a culmination of more than last season’s frustration. There have been a lot of false starts in the last decade or so, there have been bad choices on and off the field and unfortunately for me it feels a bit like we keep hearing the same message from the club that this season will be different, but it’s not. The fear I think many have is this has the same feel about it, which is probably unfair on Clement but the reality of where we are. What the pods can’t do is push group think, ignore problems and pretend it’s all ok. The honesty through the years the pod has been running, particularly in the dark days, was some of the most genuine content and comment on Rangers we could find. The fans aren’t daft, they know what they are seeing. We know what a successful team looks and feels like and what feels fragile or short of winning a title. Negativity comes from our investment in the club and team, the love we have for Rangers and the hope that we aren’t let down by them again. Build a solid off field, show us we are working towards an effective squad that can properly challenge and ultimately start winning and the mood quickly changes. Great comment bud.

Great show Hoggy

If we sold a centre forward and made the money back or a profit, then brought in someone new, I would sell Danilo, he is an unknown quantity, really. I want him to do well after the injury obviously, etc. Dessers is improving and for me, I would keep him this season. We need a clinical striker. I wonder what PC will do before September.

I didn't hear the recent pods that you allude to at the outset, Hoggy, but honestly the negativity on a lot of network shows has been really wearing for the past while. TBH, I've been listening less and less over the summer. I know that the club is in a bad place and that people are frustrated with the mistakes that have put us there, but I really feel that we need to put that behind us for the sake of those who are trying to fix the problems and take the club forwards. Fan media is still a relatively new phenomenon, but it is changing things and I do think we collectively need to be careful. A pod may be just like chatting to your pals in a pub, but it is different because it has a much broader influence. I stress, that I'm not singling any pod - or even podcasting - here but this summer has just felt like a feedback loop of recrimination and angst which has really amplified one of the most toxic atmospheres I can remember as a fan. We're not in a great place, but honestly the atmosphere is worse than where we are. Overall, it feels very self defeating right now. Without being at all happy clappy (i'm too presbyterian for that kind of thing), I believe we need to put the mistakes of Park/ Wilson/ Beale behind us and just get behind the manager and the team right now, because he in particular has a mountain to climb and needs all the support he can get. I get that the stadium farce and the deeper issues with the executive governance at the club complicates that, but again we need to try and get over that. Please understand that all of this is written from the point of view of someone who is right behind the network, as well as the team. They're just my observations in an effort to be be constructive. I really appreciate the network and the work that a lot of people put into it.

Nice intro re negativity in the support followed by the majority of questions bashing players or being negative.
