Barron a standout again and its clear he wants to be a success and is desperate to win. Then theres Tav who cant be arsed even attempting to block a cross for their goal. The differing levels of effort across our squad are clear to see and we need everyone giving their all. Those who aren't are going to be a big issue if the manager keeps relying on them.

Sandy

We need to score more goals celic have a commanding lead already with easy teams rolling over for them they will score a barrow load against hibs tomorrow

Martin Boyd

What a desperately Jekyll and Hyde football team. If the manager had hair he would be pulling it out.

Jim Milne

How can we expect Danilo to get fit if we don't even put him on for 15 mins?

I get what you boys are saying but I genuinely don't think there's been a professional team that's played the game who've performed for 90 minutes week in week out for a season. Game state is a real thing and so is the schedule, that's pretty much the same XI bar one or two that's started the last 3 after pre season, it's no surprise they were leggy in the second half. If we are excellent for 30 minutes and manage the rest of the game like we did today (but better please! FFS!) for the rest of the season we'll probably win the league. It's not proactive though and that's our issue, we SHOULD strive for 90 minute excellence every game..it's just that in the 60 game era that's unrealistic.

Really enjoyed first half. Second half shows we need better attacking options off the bench. Dessers must be shattered having to play every minute.

Have to say don’t get the Cerny is the only one of the front four comment from Adam. Lots I agree with but the front line played well for the majority of the first half including Wright who was very unlucky not to get his goal. Dessers hold up was decent and what you saw as the game went on was him more and more isolated with less support as legs and heads went, by the end he was up front alone again. The boy put in another 90 minutes with very little support and he got his goal he can’t do it singlehanded. Cerny looks decent but it’s early and we need to see how he kicks on and not pressure him. One thing I do totally agree with that Adam said is that we need consistency of selection we aren’t helping players chopping and changing. I would also agree on the midfield of Sterling, Dio and Barron that seems the best fit for all. Good three points on the board and you just never know what tomorrow brings.

Good start but fell away drastically 2nd half, hopefully thing's will improve 🤷‍♂️

Billy Forrester

Barron man of match today by a mile, love his energy and enthusiasm. Good first half, not so good 2nd but 3 points and we will keep improving 👍

Desperately need the outgoings transfers moved on and get the reinforcements in the squad. The last 30 minutes was nerve wracking and the quality and composure to kill games off has been missing for years now. Different manager but largely the same issues , same squad.

Barron's sense of responsibility is a breath of fresh air. And really good to see the smart forward play from Cerny.

I thought tav was ok today and his defending in the 2nd half definitely improved but that ambling out and letting that cross in for their goal was pathetic, no excuse considering the amount of goals we have conceded from exactly that.

Baz

He’d be better getting some game time with the B team to get the match fitness up

Early days but Barron is the type of midfielder we’ve needed for years. He’s MOBILE, covers lots of ground and has a range of different passing. Hits it into feet with purpose. We’ve been cursed with these midfielders that just shuttle around being tidy. Hate to say it but we’ve needed a player like McGregor for them.

Gordon Watson

Cerny has guile. I wish a few more of our players demonstrated exactly the same. It’s one thing to possess quality as a player, it’s completely something else knowing how to harness it, instead of mindlessly running or thoughtlessly turning over possession. 🙄

Mark Harvey

Nobody is rolling over for Celtic. They just know how to play for more than half an hour at a time. Until we can start putting together 90 minutes of football we won't lay a glove on them.

Graham Roy

Dessers is same as last year but his hold up play is awful at times. He needs to do that to allow midfield to support. Wright and Lawrence are not good enough for us now and will show the odd bit of brilliance then disappear for most of the game. I think the comment was pretty fair. If we had a decent left winger and a mobile number 10 then would have been an easier afternoon.

Spoon

Don’t agree at all with the narrative Dessers hold up is awful. It’s not perfect but if it was he wouldn’t be in Scotland. Perhaps if we didn’t keep shelling long balls to a lone striker we wouldn’t have to rely on hold up and we could play through, all the success at the weekend came from quick pass and move middle to front which both Wright and Lawrence were part of.

The referee changed the game and cost us progressing into the next round. That was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a referee and think of the ground that covers. The difference in cards and fouls between the two teams was ridiculous. We're nothing startling no doubt, but I felt we would have finished stronger and would have won.
