After seeing some of the pictures that were posted on the weekend, some by Colin I feel even though it's late, etc.........and the project was a shitshow, I proud of what our club has done for disabled fans. The facilities for those who need them are first class. I've given the board and the club a lot of shit in the last 6 months, but the final result is splendid. Thankful after many years our fans who need those facilities are no longer left out in the rain and elements.

John Gilligan comes across as a nice guy but to me he’s in the mould of D Park and Bennet. All three are dinosaurs and they are no longer the sharp mind we need to take us forward especially in the leadership roles. It’s actually frightening that the board are now saying investment is there but there was no risk return to get us the cash from the CL Groups. They failed us that bad we couldn’t even make it to the play offs and the little cash that would have brought.

I used to work with big Eck’s brother Iain years ago on the rigs and he was a cool guy aswell.

Top song choice today

From reading Follow Follow and comments on here I get the impression Graeme Park is a moron

I think Gilligan is different in the sense he doesn’t want this role but sees it as duty rather than his own needs. He has already shown his willingness to speak to the fans directly by doing the press conference. He has acknowledged the CEO should run the club and addressed investment incoming. So I think as a support we have to acknowledge he has answered some of our concerns. If he is still in the same role come the new year and nothing has changed then fair enough but he does deserve some time to start the change required.

Head in the sand stuff from Gilligan, sadly

@bluebeans

‘What exactly is he saying is not good’ - honestly, it’s insulting.

Ando

Fantastic daily tale. 💙

SM Eden

Another title handed to them before the end of September … and worse is the fact that the board are clueless.. 55 year old and this lot are as bad as any I’ve seen ..

Andy Barnett

Fair play to John Gilligan for fronting up. But the remaining protective of his predecessors and cleverly ‘answering’ the accountability question you asked clearly displays he will offer much the same as they did. Is this timed similarly to Bennetts interview from 2 years ago? Couple of months before the AGM where they hope results will improve and take the sting out of what could (and in my humble opinion should) happen. Not saying that Dave King is the answer - but it’s rich of Gilligan to question his motives and plan, when neither he nor anyone in the current regime have shown they have one.

Michael

Question regarding our young players. We heard great things about bailey rice, gave fraser a contract and lovelace looked a right good player. Why are none of these boys getting any minutes at all? How can we except to produce players when we have a manager who wont give them minutes when we are 3-0 up in a cup game?

Heart and Hand

Gilligan isn’t going to turn Rangers around in a couple months, anyone expecting him to is on to a disappointment. His job is to put the blocks in place to allow us to start moving forward, because they aren’t there currently. But the team is still going to be what it is, there are no miracle cures. We need to hire the right people and start working towards where we need to be. But nobody, not Gilligan, not King, can do it overnight.

Scott Hamilton

Talk of more investment in the club does absolutely nothing for me given the track record on what, and how money has been spent over recent years. Recruitment of players, managers and exec's has hardly been a strong point Did Gilligan mention young players coming through as a positive? If so, who?

Michael

Is this something you could ask the manager at a presser? Completely get am not here to get you to ask the manager questions 🤣 but id imagine alot of people like me are genuinely curious why these boy are getting no minutes whatsoever. Surely now more than ever when the squads in the state its in, its a great chance to see what theyve got. By all accounts rice was a better player than lennon miller when coming through and look at the difference now.

Heart and Hand

He’s been asked before, says Fraser and Mckinnon have been used and he won’t use youngsters unless they deserve it. Truthfully I’m not sure he rates Rice as highly as Beale did

Colin Mathie

We don't thank Dungcaster and his sidekick for anything, get a grip Gilligan!

Billy Forrester

How is a title handed to them by end of sept? We are 5 points behind having played them at piggery, win all our games until the new year game, beat them at Ibrox and its 2 points, it’s hardly handing them title stuff mate

Billy Forrester

I hope Mr Gilligan doesn’t come out and speak to us fans anymore as he is getting pelters already, not worth the hassle Mr G as our fans are fucking impossible to keep happy and can find fault in anything. I honestly despair. The man is in place to steady the ship and help out until we appoint the long term CEO and a permanent chairman, give him a break ffs 🤦‍♂️

SM Eden

I wish I was with you on that Billy but unless they fall apart the team have aren’t capable of beating them .. and they are the worst Celtic team I have seen .. still better than us

David

Rangers v Celtic woman’s game is on the same night as the Rangers v Lyon game. It’s a bit of a strange time and the attendance won’t be as good. If anything they could outnumber us (although they do like to watch our games). I can’t make Ibrox so I’ll have to seat sub my ticket so it’ll be a rangers double header on the TV for me.

Billy Forrester

I believe we have a young progressive team and do not think we are anywhere near as bad as some make out, I think if we are patient and give them time to grow we will be just fine

Andrew Meldrum

I keep seeing stuff on social media about the view from the back of the Copland being restricted (to put it kindly). My sense is, given I could see the wheelchair viewpoint from the back of the Broomloan upper tier, that it's all a bit nonsense - that the view from the wheelchair platform is fine sitting down, and the view from the main seats are fine, but can anyone confirm? One account on twitter was very angry!

Heart and Hand

It's not true Andrew. Look at the quote tweets, you'll see a lot of Bears sitting in there (some of whom are Patrons here) saying the guy was at it.

Derek Stevenson

Great tune & good tale. Hope all is ok now David, good to hear your dulcet tones back on the update.

Graham Jones

I’m not sure what that press conference wasn’t about, but it wasn’t for the benefit of communicating with the fans. It felt like it served a purpose regarding sending a very public rebuke to King, but perhaps I’m reading it wrong. John spoke about not doing things publicly as a shareholder, but if he thinks the club has been run fine over the past few seasons then he’s in a group of one. Our failures have been very public for consumption, because the results on the pitch are there for all to see. The less he listens to certain individuals whispering in his sear the better. We can only watching and see what decisions they make next, because it will tell us a lot of how is making decisions there and whether they are good or bad ones.

Graeme McLeod

That's exactly why we aren't winning the league - we're already at the "win every game and beat them" stage. And we haven't laid a glove on then under Clement, and nothing about the performances suggests we will.

John Palmer

Yeah. If you look at England's WSL, they get decent ko times and mainly try avoid days/dates where the Men's Team are in action regardless of the size of the fixture. SFA could really be doing with a review of the Womens game and try accommodate it better so it has a better chance of better attendances and a chance to grow. We all know the Men's game will always overshadowed the Womens game purely because of the length of time both habe been running for and for when were created/promoted.

John Palmer

I don't think they're the worst we've seen. They're better than every team in Scotland inclusive of us and they've started the Champions League with a Bang. Past Teams looked like they could lose at any moment but sadly, this lot don't look at all shaky. Sad times ahead

John Smith

Massive respect to John Gilligan for having some bottle and facing up to the questions. I just continue to have a bad gut feeling about what is going on at the moment. I’m desperate to be wrong.

@bluebeans

Shows how low the bar is when progress is a guy doing something his predecessors should have but never….and I’m sorry, not doing it very well at all. He’s challenged Dave King to show him what’s wrong at the club, how can anyone take any sort of comfort in that?

Graham Roy

Expecting the SFA to do anything is how low the bar is! For me it’s down to the club to complain about the fixtures in the media unless they are happy with the timing!

Alan Riddell

Good update. Any impending news on Copland rear for Sunday please ? This is ridiculous it’s taken until now and we still don’t know. (Yes I know it’s not your fault).

HammerHead

Love big eck a true gentleman and a great rangers manager.
