Jeez that's a wild take on lack of control of the game by Martyn, so easily pleased 🤷‍♂️

Jim McCutcheon

Very disjointed performance overall, didn't feel like a win the crowd unrest was merited imo🤷‍♂️, thanks guys

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

David, see Sky gave Butland MOTM?! Trolling surely 🤦‍♂️

I get the ‘clean sheet’ but we gave them 18 shots against us with 4 on target and a penalty. Barron and Nico playing the same role with Lawrence too far away from them causing a massive gap right down the middle. Glad Hibs aren’t a good team as that performance was nothing like Thursday night. Should we mention Dessers header?

We dont ever seem to win enough 50-50 duels in midfield and out wide

I said at the time if we are going by the rules of recent weeks then it’s not a pen, we really need some consistency on this.

Vanb bryceter

We go again we will have games like this after Europe until we get a better squad depth in January imo

Latimer

Just the one free header and bits and pieces comment as if the result was never in doubt. We were all over the place in the 2nd half but I've listened to the whole pod now and understand where you're coming from.

Martyn Ramsay

Yeah I didn’t think we ever really had control of the 2nd half but did feel they lost the strong momentum they had after 70

Jim Milne

IMO it's a penalty. If that happens at the other end Ibrox is screaming for it.

Dire 2nd half, Barron only man in midfield,Cerny slow and predictable, main thing was 3 points, wasn’t expecting a sparkling performance after Thursday but it was really poor, against a mediocre Hibs team. Glad see Butland finally save a pen, but from where I am in WE it looked a tame effort, few days to get prepared for Lyon .

I don’t particularly disagree with the comments on the match, I don’t think it was a good performance or especially bad. My issue with where we are isn’t that the manager is struggling for a plan or that his signings are dire it’s that for a long time we have been working towards delivering various visions that I never quite believed even if we got the recruitment, fitness or application right actually worked in Scotland to deliver in our league. That’s the issue that remains for me. Clements plan delivered midweek and I suspect will deliver again this week in Europe where the teams come to play football. As the podders mentioned the expectation was Hibs might try a bit of that today but they didn’t until they went a bit more gung ho at the end. My worry is this talk of a few more windows to get his ideal team still isnt what we need for trophies in Scotland regardless of how it might shine in Europe. I will hold my hands up and admit I wasn’t impressed with Jefte when we signed him, I didn’t really think Proper started well and I’m not really sold on the Igmane or Cerny hype. I still question if these are the right profiles for players we need. In recent games however Proper has settled well and Jefte looks better each run out so clearly the manager can spot a talent. I would take issue with a comment Martin made around better rangers teams than this having games like this in a season, yes that’s true but their base level or average performance was much much higher. We are currently fluctuating wildly been pretty poor and pretty good we need to shift the whole and higher and keep pushing for better. I can see this team gelling, I can see the style of play he wants to get across but I’m still worried we are going to invest for another 4 windows or so only to produce a really compact and slick thing that doesn’t actually deliver. Time will tell, it’s not a case of moving the manager on and I feel we are getting more from the squad in terms of effort, there’s still a niggle though saying this team will play better in one off matches and won’t be able to grind out a league campaign against teams hunkered in and challenging us to break them down. We still don’t seem to be the best at properly carving people open. Hope I’m wrong.

And he skirted dangerously close to bio mechanics there…..not a good look

Agree with most but I can't agree regarding their penalty. The manager is spot on with his opinion and more importantly, his reasoning as it has been well documented prior to the start of the season. Souttar was in mid air and a yard away from the ball with his leg outstretched. Just where was he meant to put his arms? I'm glad he's calling it out as well as the post Euro 12pm KO that's cost us massively over the years.

HammerHead

Hate 12 o'clock kick offs .

Graham Roy

We have complained for years that the other side put pressure on refs and we stay quiet. Whilst I think it was a penalty I think manager has done it correctly call out decisions that aren’t black or white and put pressure on the refs in our favour! For too long we have stayed quiet and allowed some shocking decisions to go with no fight!

When Martyn said “we’re not elite athletes” that was your opportunity David to say “speak for yourself.”
