The pyro thing has to stop. I know a lot of people think it looks good or whatever but when it’s leading to stuff like this it’s not even worth it. If people still use pyro after what the chairman has said, they’re a liability to the club as far as I’m concerned

Charlie Nicolson

A "conflagration" is, indeed, an interesting choice of word😃

Heart and Hand

Absolute stone cold classic. Once saw them play live where they came on naked and played a cover of This Charming Man for obvious reasons lyrically 😂

chris smith

My wife’s fav track … :-))) now avid listener (for this pod at least)

Martin Mcinnes

The best pyro that has been done was when the Clyde was lit up, it was different unique and shared round the world. UB/fan groups need to play it smart, tifos in the ground flares outside, a night game with the team bus driving up Edmiston drive with flares a blaze, would be a good start and give the team an additional lift

JimGLW

Really good to see the Chairman doing the basics and having some regular comms. Very welcome.

James McSween

Said for ages we should have disco lights, especially for European games. Also the match announcer should be doing more at start of game and when we score to get fans involved more.

Martin Boyd

No thanks , copying that lot is not required and I know they were not the first club to have flashing lights but they were in Scotland. And they have been a laughing stock for it . If the fans can’t get up for a Euro game then that’s on them. Trying to manufacture excitement is so Yank or plastic.

Martin Boyd

Be careful what you wish for re FCSB’s U16 side remember what happened when Sparta Praha sent their U16 team to play Celtic , dicked the monsters 4-1.

John Hood

So spend a fortune on facilities for disabled fans in Copland then move UB to that stand and allow them fire off pyrotechnics and fireworks in front of them. Couldnae make it up! What a farce!

James McSween

Most teams have them in Europe now. We need to do everything we can to improve our atmosphere as it’s mostly silent unless the Ultras make noise and the subway loyal leaving with 20 mins to go. The Tifo’s would look even better with a light show.

james whyte

David. Is it Davie or Davey you prefer?

Heart and Hand

It’s a nice idea but it’s the type of thing to do when we’re winning. Right now money is tight and needs to be focused on the first team imo.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Just going to say it. Some of the ultras are *%^* and are a law upon themselves. They don’t care 🤷‍♂️

Billy McCormack

Whats the fucking point in having VAR if they are not looking at the blatant foul on dessers and not telling the ref, just for gollum to come out afterwards to say they all got it wrong, in other words we saw it but because its Rangers we don't want to give it, plus Rangers don't try and kill us the way septic pedos do.

James McSween

Davie it should have been done after 55. Definitely need a winning team first and foremost but it should be in the works to be done especially when they do the Broomloan cantilever next summer.

David Campbell

With the high winds & that pitch at rugby park this match gives me a little fear tbh. Just win Rangers please

JimGLW

Disco lights are for the disco. As the old saying goes...

Hendi

The definition of "Ultra" in the Oxford dictionary is, "an extremist". Participation in a risk assessed, safety compliant, organised display at the side of a park doesn't really fit the ethos..😄

Gordon Affleck

Very meely mouthed response to the stupidity of pyrotechnics David. Disappointing

Heart and Hand

I’m sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately as I can’t always repeat back to you what you think - for the simple reason I don’t think the same thing - then it’s probably going to happen again. I don’t hate pyro, and given I’ve shared photos etc of displays over the years it would be disingenuous and a lie to pretend I do. Or would you prefer I lied to you?

Stewart Robertson

Let’s be honest, it looked cool as fuck at the Ali Sami Yen - Welcome to Hell. Trouble is, we can’t afford it these days.

Derek Stevenson

On a lighter note, I’m currently on the Antalya coast. My barman tonight is from Trabzon. Comedy gold this. Lundstram is a “shit tractor” and Borna “ghost invisible”. €100k per month for both in a country where it’s averaging €500 a month is causing my man Mehmet much concern.

Heart and Hand

Exactly Stewart. So the reality is to ditch it. But if I started ranting about it after being in the crowd in Dundee and thinking 'holy shit this is amazing' I'd be a hypocrite!

Derek Stevenson

No mate he’s not even a tractor, he’s a shit tractor!! Brilliance. I’ll come back in 2026 when Trabzonspor have signed Tav & Dessers… 😀

Tommy

In terms of pyro, we don’t box clever. Majority of Italian ultras don’t use pyro in Europe, they save it for the domestic matches where compulsory fines don’t happen. That’s smart, that’s showing they can work with the club and for the best interests of the club. If they can’t do this then they risk losing all their privileges which is hard to argue with

Allister

Surely Scott has to make a special guest appearance at next weeks game against FCSB?

Graham Jones

Here’s the thing, I only want to hear from the board when things are not going right so they need to keep us up to date on things, like right now, or if there’s something important to say. I don’t need to hear from them all the time, but right now we do need regular updates. The club have been very accommodating with those who let off the fireworks. They went out of their way to let them take over peoples seats in the Copeland Road Stand, and this is how they replay them. They need to knock it on the head or there are going to be actions taken against the club, and that will force the club to take actions against them, because I don’t believe for a minute the club don’t know who they are. The club should’ve hauled their leaders in and told them to knock it on the head, and maybe they should still do that. Frankly, I couldn’t care about Becali, because he’s just another Triump figure who talks a load of push. I appreciate he gave you a lot of material, but he’s just trying it on in public. We better win next week because we should be winning at home against clubs like that. The wrong decisions against us are starting to rack up again this season, and it’s becoming a pattern. It tells me that there is still a huge issue regarding the officials who clearly are in fear of giving us anything and giving anything against that other lot. The club has to adopt a strategy to deal with this over the long term pr we are going to lose close title races because of it.

Bob MacCallum

Gilligan should have said if it happens again, at the FCSB game that whole U.B. section will have season tickets taken away ( as in the rules given in the club's info re this) and the U.B. will not be allowed tickets again and certainly not as a group in a designated, privileged section. Never mind the UEFA fines, it's the closing of that stand we should fear. It could happen for the Spurs game. Imagine the devastating effect of that. The U.B. would be among the fans locked out of course and would no doubt be moaning and lambasting UEFA with a banner in the next game incurring another fine for the club. This should be their only warning. Most fans would applaud the club if they're banned, if it happens again. Maybe instead of pyrotechnics this group could ditch the boring black outfits and wear colourful, if not RANGERS, outfits, with flags etc to enhance the atmosphere.

Rose Mcloughlin

Same as you I love to see the displays then hate the effect it has once the smoke curls under the roof and starts hitting you..my friend is partial sighted and her eyes start nipping and she cant see...I prefer if it happens outside the stadium or like when players arrive...the tifo are brilliant and all the flags...just cut out the fireworks.
