Alastair Thomson Mills

It’s time. We need a manager who actually understands Scottish football.

John Smith

I’d like to take this opportunity to cordially invite you boys to become Muscateers 🇦🇺

Andy MacArthur

Clement has lost the fans now, it’s a question of when he goes not if. There is no way back for him barring a miracle. I hate the see another change after October. Ineffectual leadership on and off the park has led to this. I will be surprised if we finish 2nd this season, it’s abysmal!

Stewart Robertson

“There is still a long way to go and like I said, I EXPECT TO SEE THE BEST RANGERS IN OCTOBER, NOVEMBER” Phillipe Clement 27/08/24

Graeme Glennie

Time to go. Along with james tavernier. A fraud of the highest order. Never a rangers captain in any shape or form.

Ewan Christie

Saw it coming a mile off. Manager under serious pressure now…

Graham Leatherbarrow

No desire, all going through motions without attempting to impact the game, all failing to move forward but go backwards.

Scott

That's the game that's fully turned me off Clement, done with him now.

Alan Black

Should’ve been done well before this, he’s no better than Beale, Warburton , Pedro.

Scott Thomson

Don’t think I’m ready for this!

David Hanlon

Lost all faith in both the Manager and team. If you can't raise your game when you get a chance after they drop 2 points you shouldn't be at Rangers. Never looked like scoring.

Michael

1 goal scored away from home this season in the league. We were told we would see the best rangers team in October/November, near enough 10 million quid spent on cortes, diomande and igamane and all contributing absolutely 0. We have somehow ended up in a position again where the manager is in control of everything. Off the park a shambles, on the park just as bad. We havent scored from a corner this season which to me is unbelievable, anytime we come up against a physical team guys like dessers, souttar and propper are constantly bullied. No pace, no physicality and no cutting edge, what a mess.

Graham Leatherbarrow

I have zero idea what our game plan was throughout, I’d prefer 442, what were Lawrence and Cherny doing all game, Lawrence doesn’t get Rangers if he plays in green boots, wake up

James Cameron

Well done on actually doing this lads, I won't be listening mind - was an absolute nonsense of a performance.

David Innes

If we go 9 points behind Aberdeen (which is very likely) then I don’t think there’s any way he can survive. I don’t want to be locked into the endless cycle of binning managers at this time of the season but theres also no point sticking with someone once the fans have made up their mind. I don’t know if we need a manager who understands Scottish football but we do need someone who is prepared to be pragmatic and can make a team greater than and sum of its parts - that isn’t Clement

Greg Archibald

Performance was the same as all the other games this season in my opinion. Result just finally matched how bad we play. I've been Clement out for a while but I think this will be the death knell for most of the support. Matter of time

Billy McCormack

Well done guys on doing this, but I won't be listening, still hurting and Clement is Clueless.

Ranger1972

Genuine can’t even listens to the podcast any more. Just want a break from us inbetween every game. Cant wait for next international break.

chris smith

The end of the beginning of the end for Clement. An utter disgrace of a performance. A shitshow. End of.

GlasgowBear

I’d love to know what we work on during these international breaks. It’s the same rubbish constantly. Slow. Uninspiring. Muck around at the back then lump a big diagonal to a winger that has zero support. A striker that contributes but isn’t good enough. A midfield that’s “tidy” at best. And a defence that seems to have at least one goal-conceding brain fart every game. Oh and a captain that can never seem to drive the team forward. Completely fed up with the same nonsense. Constantly outfought and outworked.

Andrew Hillis

Had enough of Clement - we have gone back the way big time! That today was scandalous! What does Alex Rae think of that gutless performance? 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Kirk Guthrie

Had the earpod in listening to the game at work and everyone's asking why I look sad today 🙄🙄

That UFO Podcast

I think we are marching towards another new manager.

Simon

Persisting with Dessers has killed our season.

Charles McIntyre

I feared the weather was going to beat us today but by the end we beat ourselves with that performance.

John Jamieson

Can’t get rid of Clement and start the rebuild all over again but Clement will need to start changing the way we play whether that is formation or what have you to get some sort of backing from the support what we are doing now doesn’t say he can be the one to change it.

Gary Shaw

I said months ago “Where was the evidence “ that we had a “Proper Manager” and was lambasted as being the most negative guy on here…..we’re a year on and there has been zero improvement,in fact we’ve got worse….This group of players wouldn’t look out of place in a Warburton/Murty side….His time was up weeks ago but he needs to be out the door tomorrow and get someone in whilst it’s not insurmountable.

mark wyper

I don't think he'll last much longer as we all know that rangers fans vote with their feet as soon as those attendances drop that's it for him .

Greg

Yeh butland wasn't motm, he's been a complete liability since the motherwell defeat.

Calum Robertson

Absolutely zero urgency from us today, chance to gain 2 points on the leaders and we put in that gutless showing and end up further behind than what we started the day on

Gary Shaw

That performance isn’t even a one off….thats a standard Rangers performance now….We get away with it more often than not because of who we are but take they blue strips off them and that could quite easily be a Dundee or St Johnstone you’re watching

David Innes

If (when) he does go we need a temporary appointment until the end of the season this time

Luke

No idea how to get more out of this team, it just looks slow and laboured. Poor players that lacks pace all round. I would like bajrami as a 10 that hold his position in the future.

Spoon

Where is the ability assess an opponent and set us up to combat them. Where is the coaching and development of players. I have said before and will say again, he might not currently have the players to implement his system but the bigger issue is does the system even work here in Scotland.

Leslie White

Mr Edgar’s Jinx strikes, 12 o’clock kick off where we get the results that David keeps on going on, so in short I’m blaming David lol! All joking aside (your not to blame David) the Scum buy Forwards we sign midfielders/defenders, we sign forwards that couldn’t hit a dartboard from six inches. Let’s turn up to watch, slow laborious passing, and for Gods sake don’t shoot, Dessers says enough!

james whyte

Since Mwell defeat last season we have been in decline and the manager hasn't managed to do anything to halt the slide. Todays performamce is the normal. Beyond scunnered.

Robert White

I was one of those Gary. My sincere apologies. We are the lowest scoring team away from home in Scotland. That's a first for baldy Belgian beale

Mike Sim

I don’t recognise my team any more. Clement has to go.

Ally Mair

At this moment we are an average spfl team , no leaders on the park , a bombscare at the back , nothing in midfield and the less said about the attack the better , also what is our style of play , we don’t press high we’re slow in build up , I really worry for us this season and as a club in general, totally depressing

Delgers

Time for him to go. Nothing positive from him in my opinion. Takes off our best player in midfield. Shuffles the pack to keep tav on for 90 mins. Appears absolutely clueless from the outside

Elaine Campbell

No Rangers team should ever be out worked by ANYONE. Ever. Thats a non negotiable for me. Unfortunately we have somehow arrived at a place where it's something that we know will happen in every game. And not only do we see it happen, we see it being accepted within the club. I genuinely fear for us.

William Hughes

No heart. A given for any Rangers team.

Stephen

I just feel so disconnected with it all now. I was more optimistic even in the days before Gerrard than I am now! Maybe just realising now that it’s almost impossible to fix this. The constant sacking managers and getting new players is digging us deeper into a hole but once again it looks like we have no option.

Gary Shaw

Apology accepted Robert😂…..All joking aside,I genuinely can’t think of many games we’ve been in control (even when we win)….Some of his comments in the last year just aren’t befitting of a “proper manager “…..not laid a glove on the other mob in his time here, third in the league at the end of October and 1 goal scored away from home….He can’t survive that but my fear is he will die to be given a contract extension, another absolutely baffling decision made by this mess of a football club

Glyn Davies

Bit late now but the team selection was odd, Lawrence looked miles off it, could we not of played Kasinwirjo at LB & moved Jefte up one to use his pace to get behind Killie & that mives Bajrami into the middle where he shoud be playing?.........

Jim Milne

Rinse and repeat from Gio and Beale. If I could see something in this squad the way I could when Gerrard took over a rebuild I'd accept results like this, but results like this have become the norm. Clement will be gone by Christmas, and if he isn't the fans most certainly will be. They've had enough, I know I have.

Paul Black

We are so, so easy to play against and with that sussed out far too easily. I cannot for the life of me understand how every single Rangers fan, and opposition team, see the flaws in the formation, but Clement simply cannot

Jim Milne

Been saying this for months. He's one dimensional, stubborn and hasn't improved a single player in his 12 months here.

James

If we had a decent striker we would be within 3 points of top, and possibly even closer, regardless of how poor the rest of the team and manager are perceived to be.

Jim McCutcheon

He looked a man resigned to his fate in the after match interview imo

William George Bell

I could be wrong but I seriously think we are in takeover territory which would be welcome but I wouldn’t trust the current incumbents to sell to the right people. Maybe it is time for Dave King again. On the football side am I the only one who can’t see what the manager see in Tom Lawrence? He boils my piss with his lack of desire and casual trotting around.

Alex Oliver

Until we get a proper sporting / footballing structure in place then we are going to continually be in the same position over and over again. There’s quite a lot that we need to get in place… and until issues at the boardroom are sorted, then I’m not overly optimistic about the path ahead!

Spoon

It’s worrying Jim, I liked the early stuff we saw from him in terms of set up and aggression in the team but that looks more and more like it was a bit of dead cat bounce. I liked the guy but I am struggling to accept the same platitudes over and over again when on the field it’s a bin fire.

Jim Milne

A lot of us have taken a lot of heat for calling out Clement months ago. Certain players he refuses to drop, plays the same tactics whether Kilmarnock or Lyon, hasn't improved a single player and spent just as much as Beale. I hate to say this and I'm almost embarrassed admitting this but I checked out weeks ago. I'm in Canada and I didn't even get up at 7am to watch this game. To get 55 then Seville to this is unforgivable. I'd say we need a clear out off the pitch but we don't have anyone to clear out

James

Why Muscat? Is he the only manager on earth? We had a shortlist of two, our choice is now failing so we want to go to the man who didn’t get the job? ⁉️

Roderick Boyle

David , I think you are quite correct in that this squad of players are not capable of playing at the high standard that is required to win anything , the odd good performance maybe , but certainly not good enough to win a League .

John Smith

In all seriousness James I sadly think he’s now out of our reach. He’s flying with Shanghai and he’ll be on good money in China

Simon H&H

I’d have him out tonight, but we need these executive roles filled then sack him and get their own man. I hope

Steven L

We spend thousands every year on season tickets, European tickets, cup games home and away, away league games, merchandise from tops, balls and fucking rubber ducks and that’s the best they can muster. Glasgow rangers are a joke from top to bottom

Jim Milne

I'd have him out tonight with a caretaker til the summer while we fill the positions. We simply can't let him waste more money in January. I'd bring Steven Davis back. He might have been temporary but he had the balls to drop Dessers for Lovelace.

Gary Shaw

I’m not saying I’m the only guy in the full fanbase that said it Jim but I was definitely in the minority on here and I took some spiky comments for my opinion and the guys on here know who they are…..I take no joy in it,I wish I was on here today holding my hands up that I got it wrong….Don’t be embarrassed mate, that’s what this Rangers team do to you….I couldn’t be bothered watching it at 12 o’clock never mind 7 😂

littleboyblu

You could see how off it we were in the first 10mins. Cerny jogging about the park, Dessers not holding a single ball up all day. Second to every ball all over the pitch. The lack of quality, physicality and leadership is scary. The whole club is a shambles from top to bottom. I’m done with it. I’ve had a season ticket now for 44 years and never felt so low and disconnected with the club.

Bryan Watson

I think its the beginning of the end for Clement, its like Beale after Celtic, next bad result hes done. Clement started like a train but since that Motherwell game at Ibrox it has declined rapidly in the main. I really wanted him to succeed and I still want him to succeed but the same things keep happening. We do not look a well coached or well drilled side which is the least you expect no matter the level of quality. His excuse for Lyon was the budgets etc but our budget dwarves Kilmarnock and they've out played and out fought us at Rugby Park (again). It can't go on like this but who replaces him? We are in a multi-layered, complex shit show that is stuck in this endless doom loop. I wanted Muscat last year because I thought his style and philosophy would dominate Scotland as proven by Postecoglou however, I don't think Muscat would be able to get off the ground because that squad we have simply cannot play that style of football. Its genuinely looking like Del would be the best option and he is probably honestly better staying at Killie, because we are a shambles. Ultimately though we are totally rudderless. No Chairman, no CEO, no director of football, no head of academy. Those that are there are, as much as they are "Rangers men", woefully incompetent. They are more interested in cutting about in Rangers ties and sampling the sandwhiches and padded seats across Scotland and Europe. I don't see how it gets better no matter what we do.

Alastair McMillan

The end of PC is getting closer unless he starts to change things. Just appears to have no plan, no pace, no idea, and can’t change all that when it’s not working. I would give McCoist a short term contract and play him ahead of Dessers.

Tamus

I long for the Halcion days of Dessers scoring two goals at home vs Ross County and buying 3 cunts a haircut and all the dafty millennials spunking in the pants thinking he's Gerd Muller

Leslie White

Colin, I normally think the same as yourself, however to nominate Butland, sorry at times he could be compared to Dessers, in so much, good, so so, passable, boo boos, the simple answer is no one was MOTM!

Jamiedinho

Jack Butland MOTM? Christ, he's part of the problem, he's as bad as McGregor was in his last season

Martin Sutherland

You disagreed with my suggestion of a caretaker on the Q&A the other week. I don’t think we any other option. We can’t make a permanent appointment until the boardroom is sorted. McInnes is the only credible option

Simon H&H

McInnes imo would get more out of this current lot and make us much more compact and hard to beat. Flip of the coin how this goes. I wouldn’t have him as caretaker. He wouldn’t accept such a role. If we believe he is the man, go get him

Jojn cunningham

Clement has got to go, no improvement since he came in. Talks a good game but I for one don't know what the tactics are from game to game.

William George Bell

We’re weak and open to some undesirable taking us over. That is my biggest fear. Maybe time for Dave King again.

Gary Shaw

The perfect example of “stats are like miniskirts”…..In terms of what he cost and how long he gets on the park then he’s got to be considered as one of the worst CFs I’ve seen in a Rangers jersey

Alastair Thomson Mills

Kevin Thomson in with Steven Davis as his assistant league is not lost, but as a team, we most certainly are. There is absolutely zero style of play. He doesn't allow players to express themselves. Thomson will put every effort into securing some shred of respectability left in the league with a possibility of 1/2 European results. He also won't be demanding a stupid, hefty salary

Tolmie

Could say so much but I’ll keep it simple, clement your time is up son

Dick The Trick

We’ve gave Clement a new deal with years still to go ok current deal. Sterling an extension on current deal who can’t stay fit. Would not be surprised if after today we announce Dessers extended deal. Scunnered

John leitch

Our tactics seem to be the same every game,no variety Why not switch to 4 4 2 or 5 3 2 ? At least give some variation

Billy Forrester

Sick of this team and we are not even in November. We are Shite, we are Ultra Shite. Too slow and too weak, the vast majority are oxygen thief’s. The Manager is stubbornly persisting with this system that we don’t have the players to play it, he is a stubborn cunt who is gonna get the sack, I’m sick of him and cannot see him turning us into a winning side. What a state we are in and at this rate be lucky to get 3rd Fucking fannies

KAD87

Calls for manager to go are ridiculous tbh. Part of the problem is the decision making we have made and the fact we have lost 3 managers in 3 years in Oct/Nov. Who do you trust above him to get the decision right if we have to replace him? The problem is we have no CEO, no DoF and no chairman. What you gonna do? Call for him to go then complain your way through another “rebuild”. It’s absolute nonsense.

KAD87

People seem to accept that it’s a ‘transition’ season but can’t accept the fact we don’t win every game. Which one is it?

Scott Macrae

Clement in August “I am 200 per cent sure we are going to be much better in October, November and December and the months after.” Wow.

Billy Forrester

Nonsense is sticking with a system that clearly doesn’t work and persisting with it. Clement is a dud

Jim Milne

McInnes turns us down again. What manager takes a job with a club that has 75% vacancies in club off-field positions?

Jim Milne

Gerrard's first season was transitional but you could see what he was trying to do. I don't with Clement and unfortunately I'd say I'm in the majority. I don't want to continually sack managers but I don't want to watch this shite

Scott Macrae

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perseverance with this system with players incapable of playing it will end Clements tenure.

Revan1872

I get there was no good options but Butland man of the match when he was one of the major faults for the goal is an odd choice

KAD87

Nonsense is doing the same thing and expecting different results. But yet you are saying we should sack the manager for the 4th year in a row pre-Christmas? lol

Simon Botterill

No character at the club. Can't keep saying it, Tav should have been moved on as captain two + seasons ago (RB is a woeful strategic position for a captain), you need people with character and standards of what is required in SCOTLAND and at RANGERS around the set up (KT, Ferguson, whoever) and you need the appropriate professional standards at the club. The state of Ibrox is indicative of our standards on and off. When fans have more skills than those in charge you know you have a major problem.

Bob MacCallum

Correct. We'll win nothing this season playing Tav at the back and Dessers up front. If the manager can't see that, he should get the chop. If he doesn't have the guts to drop our has-been captain...correction..it doesn't take GUTS, as every fan will be cheering that move, it takes football nous. He has to realise it's Tav or himself.

Scott Kerr

Clement is useless. Time the board showed balls and sacked him. This is only going to get worse!!!

Revan1872

It's Scottish football it's hardly difficult to understand. Bring someone in who can play good attacking football that isn't a chore to watch

Doogz

Would go for him now, and start signing players that can cope in this league for a kick off and start rebuilding from there

JimGLW

"This isn't a one off" David sums it up as ever

Doogz

Clement knows his tea is out, his press conferences have been pretty wild for a while

Craig Holmes

I thought butland was pretty poor all game, some really mad decisions from him today

Colin Carstairs

League goals away from home this season: Celtic 13 Aberdeen 7 Dun U 6 M’well 6 St J 6 Killie 5 Dundee 5 Hearts 5 St M 4 Hibs 3 Ross C 1 Rangers 1 Won’t take a genius to work out how we aren’t winning any league any time soon.

Revan1872

He's been poor overall since April really. Given he's one of the big earners in the squad he should be moved on in the next couple windows and his wages can be spent on improving the attack

Billy Forrester

Yes why should we persist with someone when we can all see it won’t work, better to get rid now and try salvage something from the season or we will be 3rd and they will canter to a treble But hey, we can’t sack a manager again can we lol

Stephen

For me it's all about that absolute tube up front. We are relying on him to hold the ball up, burst a gut to get into the box and he must be pinching himself to be getting paid for having a kick about in a half empty ground on a absolute joke of a pitch.

Neil Wilson

I don't think hammerthrower football would be popular with the fan base. He would be a disaster in European football as well, especially considering that's a vital revenue stream.

Andrew Meldrum

Overrun in midfield - and the problems start there. 4231 relies on the 3 helping out when we don't have the ball, and none of them (apart from wee Ross) do that. We have up the midfield today, and that's why we aren't creating chances. It's not just the forward players who are lacking when it comes to scoring goals either. Think I am right in saying that a penalty from Tav is the only goal we have all season scored by a defender or DM. Overall the unit isn't working, the whole is less than the sum of the parts. That's down to the manager and coaches to sort.

Alan Baxter

Cant even motivate myself to listen to this, it’s the same turgid stuff on the park and nothing we can do about it. Sack another manager, what’s the point. Needs some life injected into the club and there’s nobody out there able to do it as they would need to buy out the old mans club currently running the show

David Innes

It’s difficult to identify players who both suit the physicality of Scottish football and have the mentality to play for a club where 2nd is nothing - we have failed miserably on that front recently. It shouldn’t however be difficult to build a team who can regularly beat sides who have a fraction of your budget though

John Breen

I think Bullard has checked out. He’ll be looking for the door

Colin Gardner

Stephen I said that this time last year that we won't win anything with him leading the line.He is fukin hopeless and the frustrating thing is he thinks he is doing OK. Run about like a headless chicken and take me off after 60mins.Job done!I'd rather we persevered with Igamane than watch him every week.

Craig Brown

We are an utter shambles from top to bottom at the club. The manager has no clue in how to set us up to control games, especially in the midfield which we lose control of in every game against half decent opposition and in any other game where the they show any sort of urgency or intensity. We are months down the line of watching the same set up and tactics and expecting different results. He comes out after the game and says they made it hard for us and they work hard. 10 of the 11 away venues we play at is the same situation and we still do the same things. Set up to be weak in the middle of the park and go long to a guy incapable of holding the ball up and bringing others into play. Who is time and time again up against big physical defenders who love when the game is played like that. We have no pace, no energy,no creativity and no intensity on or off the ball, players all over the park jogging about, sauntering out to shut balls down. Any team that can do the basics right cause us problems and our manager has no clue on how to combat that. He needs to go but unfortunately I have no faith on who ever is making the decisions getting the right person in and what decent manager in their right mind take the job just now. We need wholesale change for things to turn round on and off the park and I don't see that happening. So we are stuck in whatever mess this is and it is one hell of a mess.

Colin Wieland

Lads, I tip my hat to you for still going through with the pod after that shockingly abysmal performance. If that shower of shite had an ounce of the professionalism that you three have shown here, we would be in a far better place. But they don't.

Roy Donlon

Christ, good point, 1 goal in 4 domestic away games is outrageous, appalling

Paul Kerr

Unless the manager has a radical rethink he's done, contract extension or not the pressure will build.

Stuart Sheils

Tough shift for you lads tonight. Yeah butland the only motm candidate. I think it’s over- it’s now at the ‘see I told you it would go wrong’ stage whenever the next disappointing result comes (probably pittodrie) I can accept being beaten by better teams but if we genuinely can’t beat 10/11 teams in this league away from home with our vastly bigger resources than them, it’s on us.

Rona Bluebell

What if McInnes turns out to have been the answer all along? This is the stuff I torture myself with.

Billy Paterson

Don't disagree with much that was said but giving Butland motm is just blowing smoke imo. He flapped in the 1st half that nearly cost us a goal and he was more than culpable at their winner. Should have stayed on his line or nearer his goal.

stuart wood

But all we have to aim for is short termism. Cup competitions and a 38 game season. That's what our club is measured against. Europe is a pipe dream that might come around once every decade but we need to compete in the SPL and do that every season. Fair enough taking the odd competitive defeat from Celtic is acceptable but utter dung against the likes of Killie and Ross County is completely unacceptable given our prestige and wage structure.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Manager is done You don’t all of a sudden transform this shite squad into a fluid side They have no stomach for the fight and they will get plenty of it up in Aberdeen end of month Scary

Ryan Stewart

Anytime a manager fails, there’s always a game you can pinpoint and say, yeah that’s where the fans turned. Thats today with Clement for me. And when they turn, it’s when not if. He could win the next 8 games, draw the 9th and we’d be right back here again. He will survive because the club above him is a complete bin fire and the board will probably be happy that he’s taking the heat off of them.

Angus Mackay

Today was utter dogshit , it’s hard to watch football when it’s played as badly as that , big Phil needs to get more out that team or we’ll struggle to get into Europe

Scott Hamilton

Mediocrity is the only consistent thing at the club right now

Iain Dunleavy

There has never been a successful team at Rangers without a core of scottish players/manager. Year after year we persist with foreign imports who don't understand the league/Rangers. Signing experiments for millions Dessers/Danilo/Cerny/Barjami all not good enough or have talent but no desire to win. Time to get back to basics signing good scottish talent with a good work ethics sprinkled with a bit of talent from abroad. We might not achieve much in Europe however I am sure we would do a lot better domestically. The other lot across the city do it. They have a manager who supports the club with a scottish captain and at least 10 scottish players throughout the squad who contribute.

SC81

Today was the tipping point for me with Clement. If it was part of a coherent rebuild then we would see a system that just needed tweaked or 2/3 better players. I see none of that. Muscat would be the next on my list. He seems to have a style of play. Something we haven't had for fucking years. Depressing as fuck.

Adam Williamson

Just a copy and paste from there last season. We are so deeply diseased as a football club, and our team embodies that. I feel nothing for these players or manager, just as they clearly feel nothing for us. We’re losing the essence of what it is to be Rangers - winning.

Brian Rae

It really was negligence going into this season with Dessers, Roofe MK2 and an unproven player that needed 2 months to get his fitness to a standard just to be able to sit on our bench. Ronald de Boer really was spot on in his assessment of Dessers. In the summer, We needed experience and quality all over the pitch, especially the spine of the team and we simply didn't get anywhere near it. Our midfield isn't any better than that of Aberdeen and compared to 3 seasons ago, it's miles off where we were. The regression and general situation at the club is so bad that it looks deliberate. John Bennet has taken a vehicle with many problems and simply ran it into the ground. What a mess he's left. We are totally fucked and the depressing thing is, there's no quick fix with this unless there's total boardroom change and the manager is either backed properly or sacked. We can't go on like this.

Bixby Snyder

MOTM was the away fans today. Sang right up until the goal. No pyro. And yet a clear message to the board to show that their following is not blind.

C. J

Time to go. Clement has been a massive failure. Cut our losses & start again. Sad to say it but the wrong man in the job for any longer will be catastrophic.

C. J

This is enough to have ANY manager sacked at Rangers. Boot him. Now.

Alan Ferguson

I’ve wanted Phil to come good again but he seems lost. Remember when he took over he spoke about building strength across the four pillars - tactical, technical, mental and physical - piss poor on all four I’m sad to say. Can’t see club sacking him until the summer, buckle up for a boring as fuck and hugely disappointing season

G Calder

Anyone that thinks we can catch the other mob is deluded.. Sadly a better result for us yesterday would have been a Celtc win .. its the sheep we need to catch up with for 2nd place . Brutal truth im afraid .

Tolmie

Diomande btw, wouldn’t get 1m for him, I don’t know what you see in him Dave but I’ve never seen anything

Darren Todd

I saw the goal go in on livescore before on the actual telly. I didn’t even flinch because I was already in the ‘see I told you’ mode. The lack of emotion watching this team is worrying.

Ayden Bell

Would’ve been much easier to get Clement out the door if we hadn’t extended his deal into the bargain. Not sure there’s a comparable mis-management of a football club anywhere else to what we’ve got at the minute. Squad is horrendous, manager looks more and more useless and we’ve got nearly every senior position above him empty or with an interim appointment. Going to be a long long season!

John Davidson

The only thing worse than keeping the manager would be sacking the manager. Sadly, that's where are as a club.

Rose Mcloughlin

Thanks guys...I did listen to the end...probably because I am avoiding people who try to cheer me up...I know you would be as sickened as I am....but I am still proud to be a blue nose...so forever hopefull...or I can go and watch when we were magic....thanks for the pod...feel heartbroken for my brother in Canada who would not have went to bed but instead headed out at 2am his time to drive hours to reach his Rangers sup.club to watch the game and coverage at 5am. A big big shout out to all our Blue noses Abroad...well done guys and hope our fans from across the water are safe getting home in this weather.

I disagree. I think there is a lot of easy wins in the job for whoever were to take over. Particularly in relation to organisation, structure and game-plan. The bigger issue is given the boards track record, do we trust them to make the appointment?

Andrew Whiteside

Today was unacceptable and we should be rightly concerned. Under no circumstances should we talking about the manager going.

JimGLW

Under no circumstances? Absolute garbage. If we lose 10-0 the next 5 matches? This devout, "under no circumstances " has devoured people and rotted their minds.

Steven Harvey

Manager is a disaster. Talks more nonsense than Beale. The pushing Tav up one was the end for me. Is that where we’re at? Tav up and bring on Dowell. Most of his signings don’t suit the league. We’re gonna ruin Barron under PC. Jefte is decent but his final ball/decision making is atrocious. I would sack him tonight but when he wins one game (St Mirren) in the next 4 or 5 he’ll need to go…

Steven Harvey

Clement’s had two windows to sign a striker and chose to bring in Silva in January and an untested, raw, young lad in Igamane in the summer. Baffling.

Lee

The majority of that team have been signed under him no? Also a managers job is to get the best out of a team. You can't possibly say he doesn't have a better quality of player/budget of Killie etc. His team (& tactics) have managed 1 goal away from home in the league so far. That's ridiculous.

KAD87

100% worst thing we could do is sack the manager. We have no CEO We have no DoF We have no chairman We have a very limited transfer budget Are people wanting a magic wand?

Bill Ramsay

I think the worst part of this is the complete sense of resignation apparent in all 3 of you. This was not unexpected, it wasn't a shock result. A generally poor Kilmarnock team and we can't beat them. Unless there is a significant regime change I can't see there being anything to make us optimistic it will bet any better.

Ecky G

So easy to play against, what a shambles.

KMc

I get your point to an extent but it is two separate issues (to a point) re the board nonsense. The manager can only control what is within his remit. It’s not the lack of CEO or chairman that is responsible for us persevering with a rigid style of play or all round lack of organisation. There are clubs in our league working within tighter margins than us that appear to be coached and organised to a higher standard than we are - surely it doesn’t take a magic wand to instil such basic principles?

Fraser T8

It’s the absolute pissing against the wall of 55 and Seville. Criminal negligence by a succession of board members. Is it time to go back to basics of Scottish manager and a core team of the best of the rest from other spfl teams? For instance Diomande or Lennon Miller? Clement shows a continued inability to get the best out of players. I suspect the new contract handcuffs the club but today’s shit show followed by defeat at Pittodrie? Will match the levels of toxicity last season at the end of Beale’s time. All joy has been removed.

David McCallum

Whole club is a shambles from top to bottom. Rudderless.

Andrew Whiteside

I think we have players not signed by the manager in key positions who are not good enough and through limitations in the squad does not have much option to change it. We have a mix of young players, new players who are inexperienced in our football with very average experienced players. So for me it will take time before the manager gets a competitive and consistent side on the park.

jason hart

Couldn't agree more gents Dessers what can we say that hasn't been said .. good record but you would expect that as first choice rangers striker due to chances .. what really hit home for me was Aberdeen's first against them think it was sokler that scored when he got put thro you just knew he would score.. run touch and finish was superb .. I immediately thought of dessers and I'm certain he would have missed that .. it also really jumps out in European nights when you watch the highlights of other games these strikers get one chance and score Style or play formation manager ... I'm unsure on all 3 .. Davie you mentioned we don't have the players to play IT I just don't know what it is .. I can't see any style or plan in our game .. same players same formation week in week out .. limited talent and boring to watch .. 110% get 3 at the back .. this 1 up top and 2 DCMs should never be deployed domestically why would you need 2 DCMs against say Ross county at ibrox !!!! Diomande ?? Posted missing most weeks when he first came it was a goal threat .. seen nothing in months .. maybe a raskin barron in DCM (if PC isn't gonna change) and dio #10 ?? PC I agree and think we can't change managers again but he has to adapt . I was screaming for us to sign him and not muscat but maybe in hindsight we actually need a tough manager that maybe has a little bit of old schoo .. we've falling so far the last few years that tactics or lack of is the least of our worries .. we need the foundamentald .. fight heart and mental toughness to even compete domestically now Like all you bears I'm now broken.. results terrible horrible to watch and the stricture of the club is falling apart

Craig Galt

Style of play seems to be, knock the ball about a wee bit whilst the opposition is is set in their shape, centre halves eventually go long to a striker where nothing sticks. If that doesn't work then we go wide and chuck a few aimless balls into the box or cut inside where nobody goes past an opposition player and we inevitably go backwards. Rinse and repeat, it's GVB all over again where the football is tragic to watch and those scrappy wins will start to turn to dropped points like today. This only ends one way.

Lee

Power to you mate, you are clearly a very patient chap. I've been fully supportive of the manager, but we are regressing the longer he is in charge and the more of 'his' players we get IMO. I will be amazed if he turns this round.

Graeme McLeod

One of the issues in appointing foreigners manager and head of recruitment - or whatever his title is. We've brought in two Belgian pals who have no knowledge of the league, no knowledge of what it takes to succeed at Rangers and their only real experience with British football in general was Clement's brief stint with Coventry as a player. There seems an arrogance within the club about domestic football. And it's completely unearned given our lack of domestic success.

stuart Campbell

Without doubt one of the worst Rangers teams av seen 5 points behind our nearest rivals to visit them next Tuesday and only scored 1 away goal away from home anything but 3 points next Tuesday surely a regime change must be required as the last 12 months have been shambolic under any pressure

Mark

FF today seems more resigned than angry. That's a very telling sign.

Douglas Innes

Sorry but it's Souttars achilles heel when it comes to decsion making he invariably does nothing ....... he shouldve went shoulder to shoulder with Watkins and physically make sure Watkins has no further part in the outcome.......

Alex Hood

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. The league campaign always had a high chance of playing out this way given how our pre-season and transfer window went. Lack of funds to secure top targets. CEO position vacant. Stadium debacle. What do we actually expect?

David Baillie

All thoughts and observations spot on lads. It reminds me of the state of the club in the early 80’s when it took David Holmes to come in and completely clear the decks. Maybe only a takeover will sort this out. Might I suggest a tune for your Daily Update David? The Lemonheads, Rudderless. Keep the faith lads your output is invaluable.

Andy sawers

Not wanting to sound like one of them, but if we drop points to aberdeen and don't make it past motherwell can we afford to sack Clement after a new contract and what was a glaring lack of funds during the transfer window?

Ryan Stewart

Spot on Bill. Unless there’s significant change at boardroom/investor level I fear this is what we are now. The odd good season when some of the shit we throw at the wall sticks or Celtic implode, surrounded by years of failure and mediocrity.

Graeme Guthrie

We can't keep sacking manager csnt be used as a reason to prevent us sacking a manager who is clearly failing and underperforming

KAD87

We have no CEO We have no budget We have no Chairman We have no DoF And you want us to have no manager either? Who do you suggest 1. Makes the decision on replacement 2. Wants to take that job?

Martin Sutherland

Butland is a solid keeper but the fact he is the leader in that dressing room says it all. He hasn’t won anything in his career, doesn’t have a clue how to lead a winning side.

Jim Milne

I seriously think McInnis says no again, depending when and if Clement is fired. If it's before we have the odd field positions filled no chance he accepts. Plus if Clement leaves I'd expect koppen to leave also.

Alastair McGeoch

We are now a mediocre team/squad led by what has sadly become clear is (another) mediocre manager. As a club we are in a really poor state at all levels, with something clearly wrong at the heart of it. Without something significant changing at the club it’s hard to see how we break out of this cycle.

Bryan Watson

I think the apathy is in the fact we have never really got going from preseason outside of Ross County and Malmo. We haven't really had anything above meh at best outside of those 2 games. I mind watching the Birmingham City friendly and thinking we are in real bother here potentially and it has transpired that way which is gutting. Personally feel stuck in a paradox. I said yesterday that I think Clement is done and unfortunately I still think that. Heard rumours he does alot of his tactics and set up purely on video analysis and whilst I can't verify whether that's true or not, from what I'm seeing on the park it looks that way. We are not a well drilled or well coached side where everyone has a job and they know it which is so odd because I distinctly remember Clement bringing that in his first 6-8 weeks. He sounds absolutely unrecognisable to the guy who rocked up last year genuinely cannot understand it. We will win games unconvincingly but next bad domestic result he will be gone. Scuddings in UEL won't let this side build any momentum either. But then where do we go? What manager in their right mind takes this job, we are a basket case. You'd look at respected coaches with a history of winning trophies in similar level leagues (Gio and Clement) getting emptied after a year and smell something rotten. We need a manager who plays quick, forward thinking football on and off the ball, demands his players work their absolute arse off every second. The Muscat ship has sailed, who else is coming? And beyond that look above Clement, who is making the decision to 1) bullet him and 2) appoint his replacement? Ranting a bit here but genuinely struggle to wrap my head around how much of a midden we are in at near enough every level.
