I really didn’t like the way Clement reacted to Stevie’s question. I get that he wants to needle reporters sometimes but he also needs to understand that specific members of the media are directly representing tens of thousands of Rangers fans.

John Smith

That presser was really uncomfortable to watch. Manager looked seriously rattled. Was quite rude to Stevie I thought.

Jordan McKay

In fact, I’d like to ask this as a question for a future update: Are fan media representatives known to players/managers and, if you are, have you ever noticed that you’ve been answered differently to other members of the media who have asked similar questions?

Chris Scott

A very frustrating time at the club. I don’t disagree with the sentiment that we can’t keep up this 1 year hiring and firing cycle, changing key staff, changing style etc. However, if the appointment itself is wrong, then it’s wrong. Sadly, it appears no one at the club knows how to make a good decision. I fear it’s going to get worse before it gets any better

John Smith

Me and Colin share a birthday

Graeme Homer

Some of them are known given the access they’ve been given before plus what platform they’re from is either said by themselves or the press officer. It’s not cause they’re asking a question but how they say it or if they’re repeating it Gerrard didn’t like it nor did Gio or Beale. So being sharp is new to Clement

Heart and Hand

That’s a tough one to answer. I couldn’t say for sure that they do or don’t. What I’ve found is that if they do, they expect fans to be more supportive of them personally. A lot of people who work for football clubs see criticism of them as criticism of the club itself, whereas as supporters we don’t. Secondly, every football manager I’ve seen in pressers hate when amateurs - ie non-football professionals - question their tactics.

Angus Mackay

Happy birthday, Colin. It’s all downhill now, I’m afraid. 🤣 Thanks, Davie. I agree that hearing about guys just in the door is getting boring, but I believe the reason the manager persists with it is to try and get through to people that this is a time of transition. Much of the comment on-line is treating this season like any other in terms of expectation, and that, sadly, isn’t realistic for now. I’m encouraged by the fact that he’s sticking to both his plan and his messaging, because Beale was all over the place on both long before him at this stage. I hope that the people standing behind him are just as disciplined, because having started this they absolutely need to see it through. Let’s hope the upturn in performances and results comes soon - preferably tonight.

Would love PC to be bold & go 3, 5, 2 or 3, 4, 3.......with injuries (Rabbi, Cortez, Dani, Propper) & certain players out of form/not eligible (Hagi, Dessers, Cerny Lawrence) could we go with something like Kasinwirjo, Soutar, Balogun.....Tav, Dio, Barron & Jefte.....Lovelace, Bajrami & Igamane...

Glen Kane

Great tune. 👍

Jim Milne

Says a lot about "professionals" when's amateurs can see the flaws and lack of style & tactics in a manager's plan.

Colin

Anyone want my ticket for tonight in Club Deck? I can't make it.

Vanb bryceter

Would a victory tonight turn the tide?. I seriously doubt it. I can and would accept inconsistency in results so long as I could see a semblance of a performance, you know passing with pace powerful running 🏃‍♂️ an organised defensive block players who are robust in a one on one. Sadly I'm not seeing any of that and unless Harry Potter pulls his wand out and magics a performance this will be 1 more cut towards the thousand needed for the inevitable end of clements tenure 😢

Iain Gunn

Clinging onto that Malmo result, too infrequent for fans to not be concerned with form in other games

Lee Stewart

I agree that this Rangers team isn’t easy on the eye, a lot of that can be overlooked if we’re getting the results, but we’re not away from home. I don’t mind sideways stuff or long ball tactics, just can’t stand the slow passive nature of this team. No tempo or aggression whatsoever and that is dire!

Heart and Hand

Not really, if it’s something he’s heard then I have no reason to doubt he believes it to be genuine but as to whether it is, I couldn’t say. What I will say though is that things like that are often visible in performances.

Vanb bryceter

Cheers 🍻 I agree that's what's concerning me. I can't believe after a clear out there are potentially still malingerers in there. Surely to God Clement isn't stupid enough to keep playing them if its true. I'm eagerly anticipating the team news tonight could be telling....or not😅 Thanks for your reply 👍

John leitch

I think big Phil will have to tweak the system If plan A doesn’t work there needs to be alternatives

Jim Milne

I can't stand that Tav still takes every set piece and walks like a tortoise to take corners and throw ins. What pissed me off more is when he walks over slowly and takes the ball from a teammate. Been like that for years, allows teams to setup and it's a farce at this level.

John Breen

If he starts Tavernier it’s going to be the same old shit we see every weekend. Caught out of position and the centre backs pulled to cover the space leaving holes all over. If he plays him he’s not got a clue and I look forward to him going

Graham Jones

I just thunk the fans were expecting more at this point from the team, but there have been so many setbacks that we need to revise where we should be under all the circumstances. I think it’s a miracle the manager didn’t walk after the summer he had to o put up with, because let’s be honest, here, the club has been in chaos. Sunday was a total fuck up and that was on the players. That’s attitude and the players need to shoulder most of the blame for that sorry excuse for a performance. But they have a chance to correct things tonight, and they have to take it. I’d take any sort of win, because it’s about getting as many points as we can.

Angus Mackay

I don’t understand the furore over the answer to that question. The wording of the question was confusing and once he understood what Stevie was trying to ask the manager agreed with him.

Billy McCormack

Can someone explain how Lovelace can feature tonight and Hagi isn't, because Lovelace hadn't featured for the first at all this season so far?

Heart and Hand

Hagi isn't in the European squad. As a homegrown player u-21 Zak ounts as one of the unlimited options. You don't need to name boys who qualify for that in the Euro squad but can still use them.

Graeme McLeod

Need to actually win a game that matters, in my opinion. It's no different to Beale last year at this point. Beating teams that we're expected to beat isn't something Clement and this team deserve a pat on the back for - they ultimately need to prove they can beat Celtic. Going on a winning run then losing the League Cup Final to them and/or the next meeting at Ibrox is the acid test. At present there's no reason to believe that this manager or team are capable of doing that and no amount of victories over St. Mirren etc will change that.

Vanb bryceter

I couldn't agree more far to many false dawns.its crazy to think the squad on the whole has been shredded yet we are still watching this boring shit brand of football

Vanb bryceter

Does the teams performance revolve around whether Tavernier plays or not whether he is playing shit or not. I'd argue he was better than most on Sunday although still miles off it

Tamus

My self My beautiful selfish ♥️

John Breen

Yes I 100% do believe because every attack comes down his side. Other players have to fill in cause he’s never at RB. And he’s a terrible defender

Dave Fleming

Good tune! Did you go to the academy gig in the end?

Graeme Smith

Probably being pedantic here but Stevie Clifford’s question at the presser, whilst good to be direct with the manger on style/poor performance, was a missed opportunity in my opinion. He asked about the long ball tactic. Not sure many fans were suggesting that was the issue? Intensity, tempo, desire, passion, particularly given their result on the Saturday, but long ball? Pedantic loyal

Lee

He clings on to one off games to avoid the shite we see game after game. It's getting pathetic. I would also hardly say the team is much better now than it was in August

Grant

What a band 👏

Martin Whitelaw

Happy Birthday 40th Colin, hope the team gets a win for you 💙

Ian Rutherford

Happy Birthday Colin take note of the cracking tunes David plays

Danny Clark

Happy 40th Colin. It’s probably time that you added the school years on too, you’re not kidding anyone😂😂

Steve23

Happy 40th Colin, all the very best mate. H&H’s premier podder

Colin R

Whatever happened to the ‘long form’ interview? Has Clement ever sat down for an hour one-on-one for a broad discussion on strategy, tactics, everything… the press conference format and softball RTV interviews don’t really offer the opportunity for detailed, deep discussion.

Colin R

PS Happy 40th, other Colin. Sadly, every hangover from now on lasts for two days and parts of your body will randomly fail. Enjoy!
