Graeme Glennie

2:10 I can physically feel your pain in reading that quote 😂

Andy sawers

Who was the jurno that countered Clement about the offside with the penalty and hitting the post? Funny he never mentioned XG last night.

Latimer

Kasanwirjo has played 3 of the back 4 positions in two games. The guy is clueless.

David Hanlon

The Manager is talking shit.

Jordan Grant

Was so sure todays song would be Libertines - Horror Show

John Smith

He’s a Walloon Waffler

james whyte

Players are pish. The manager won't change system and talks pish. The boardroom is also full of pish. It's all pish. Couldn't be arsed trying to convey my feelings any better than that. Pish.

Ryan Jardine

Gerrard and Dave King outside Ibrox the mawra with their massive hairy baws oot, Rodgers head on a stick and burning the grey and green hoops

Tolmie

Davie see when clement came in we got a draw in surer it was at Aberdeen and in the after match interview he was delighted, this was right at the start, that was the day I said he’s at the wrong club

John Smith

If there is any possibility of getting a certain magnificent Aussie bastard, I really hope the board make the right call this time

Jim McCutcheon

💯 David, investment must come and a clear out necessary, won't be easy but we must rise from all this we are rfc as fans we deserve much better this can't continue 🤷‍♂️, thathanks David

John Smith

Flemish Phil won’t resign though and that’s the biggest stumbling block

Jim Milne

I don't know that we need a full clear out. Definitely Propper, Matondo, Tavernier and Dessers. The rest are decent players who don't look like they've been coached properly. I don't think bar a few we've made terrible signings. Most are a good base to add too they just don't look like they've been given roles for their strengths. It's one thing asking a player to play out of position in one or a couple games, but Clement is doing it every game. Things are bad right now, but I don't believe the squad minus the 4 names up too are as bad as results suggest. Any decent manager coming in should be able to coach them to play at a much higher quality than they currently are.

John Smith

This is the last time I’ll mention this I promise (unless of course stuff starts heating up) but not getting Kevin Muscat will be remembered as a cataclysmic mistake in this clubs history. People seemed to not want him based on his playing career and the fact he was a student of Ange. Well look where it got us. And sadly I do feel he is now well out of reach

John Smith

I’d be more than happy to have Stevie G come back but if not, I certainly would be open to Derek McInnes. There’s a lot more to why he never took the job than people think in my opinion. Let’s not be childish and not even consider it because of something that happened 7 years ago under very different circumstances

Jim Milne

Gerrard won't come back. Firstly he's just made £15m in the last 12 months. Secondly, he took us from a shite position before and made us respectable. Not a chance he wants to come back to an even bigger shitshow with even less resources and no board. We need to get away from thinking past servants can solve this problem. Just my 2 cents.

chris smith

I said this time last season that an interim manager was the best way to go in the circumstances

John leitch

Theme tune reflects the feeling today

Ecky G

If there was boardroom change how much investment can be spent on the team ? And how much would we require to jettison the manager and backroom staff and then appoint the replacements ?

Spoon

Would very much hope we get a UK based and UK experienced manager in next time, sick of us conducting foreign experiments only to then be shocked when it doesn’t work. If we go through the same rigmarole and buy into another concept manager I’m done with it. My hope is we return to a Scottish (or at least UK) focus and bin this obsession that imports are intrinsically better somehow. Our history doesn’t suggest that bar Advocaat who got a blank cheque out mad little league needs over complicated tactics or exotic imports as the core, fine to add some sparkle of course.

Scott Corral

The big sigh says it all David. The manager is a hard man to agree with at the moment but to say Aberdeen were lethal is a stretch considering they missed a penalty.

Michael

The biggest problem is the lack of physicality. Let's build the team starting with Baron, Radkin, and sterling. I'm diveded on the best way forward. We have brought in good players. What is missing is steel . Lots of decent players but we need bite. WATP

Seumais Simpson

Shocking that Sakala and Colak were forced out for not cutting the mustard, and we have spent the amount of cash that we have to bring in considerably worse players is laughable.

Simon H&H

Hallmarks of the PLG 6 months. Weak all over the park. Manager should be removed from position today

Heart and Hand

If he got it and King comes back like you want he’d be out the door that morning. So you can’t have both.

G

Kevin Thomson and Barry Ferguson in until the summer. Would have Stevie G back in a heartbeat.

David Conway

Can’t argue with any of David’s comments. We as a club are probably the worst run club in Britain, we are farcical. 8/9 months to appoint a CEO that can run a football club…..its actually pathetic and we as a support are getting taken for mugs. If we sack the manager and btw he should have been sacked after kille never mind last night, I wouldn’t trust these charlatans to actually pick the right manager to replace him, I wouldn’t trust them to pick my lottery numbers. What a mess

Paul Leitch

I thought nothing could have been worse than 2012. How wrong was I, at lest then as a support we had a fire in us which this board had done everything in their power to put out.

William Donaghy

I was nodding in agreement with every word . The only possible positive from last night, it might trigger change throughout the club a whole lot quicker. But I shall not hold my breath

Daniel Ward

The manager has to be relieved of his duties he is hopeless but who sacks him. Also the point about being so far behind them and being years away from competing is and isn’t true, Scottish football has a massive ceiling on it which will make sure that no team ever goes to an un catchable position. But having this current boardroom making the decisions will ensure we stay years away from competing.

Stuart MacKenzie

And another thing - are we not the world’s worst team for ineffective efforts at piling on the pressure against weaker opposition when we are down? Every time this happens the last ten minutes can be written off in a mess of stupid fouls, arguments with the referee and aimless punts into the crowd. good sides tend to manage to rain down pressure/shots on target in those situations

Stewart Thomson

All I would say to big Phil is, away and don't talk a lotta shite. We've scored 2 goals away from home all season. Watch the 1st time Propper gets the ball against St Mirren, the trigger for their press was so obvious, that's coaching, analysing what we do and then attacking it. We don't look coached at all, in fact we've been out coached most of the games this season. Nothing will change while he's still here. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm running out of energy following this team

Colin Carstairs

Absolutely spot on David & I would add we don’t & haven’t had a presence on nor off the field for a very long time. Aberdeen Manager has had less money but has his team a lot more organised will caveat that with they don’t have Europe but still no Rangers manager should be pleased with almost grabbing a point . Rot starts up at the top.

Scott Kerr

Clement is so far out his depth.

Bill McCairns

I hate to say it, but I think you’re spot on. This is a long job. We need decent people at board level. We also need a Manager in who can stop the rot, giving us 2 good years then another one who can move us forward. I hate to say it, but this looks very similar to the situation in the East of Glasgow before Ferguson McCann bought them.

Doogz

Gerrard had his time in Scottish football it’s over we look forward.

Robert Atkinson

It doesn’t look like the players practice any predefined movements. All individuals. To score we need a moment of magic from a front player, yet we rarely lose goals that way. We lose goals because other teams grind us down relentlessly. How often do we grind teams down with interplay and aggression?

Stuart Borland

Saying how we all feel like today david. He has to go! (manager not David)

Jim Milne

Another positive is we doubled the amount of away goals scored all season. 🙄

Alexander Laird

David, thank you for saying all the things I want say for me. Respect 👍. As far as the SG situation - in my best thoughts - he comes back in DoF roll. The shit will hit the fan. Standards will be understood by all, implemented and no prisoners taken.

Alan Cowan

David What effect, if any , do you think the boardroom clusterfuck is having on Clement and the players. Not giving Clement an excuse for his ineptitude and his Bealesk press interviews but maybe the pressure is too much for him and his mental health is being tested. I'm sure the expectation from being at Rangers pales into insignificance when managing in Belgium and France

Damien Stubbs

It breaks me when you don’t say I hope you’re all well and having a good day 😂😂😂

Collin Gartshore

Unsatisfied indeed!! Great tune and band though.

KennyY

A daily update full of the emotion that we are all feeling right now David. 100% agree with you on the forwards. I was a big defender of Dessers for a while but can admit that I was wrong. Igumane offers nothing, Danilo is worse and Barjani getting played out of position. It’s so frustrating

Damien Stubbs

I’ve avoided that press conference as I knew it would be bad. But f*ck me man. Can’t believe you read that with a straight face.

Heart and Hand

It’s difficult and I wouldn’t deny that…but that’s not the reason the team looks disorganised and half-arsed.

David Campbell

He is absolutely deluded he genuinely sees something completely different to what we see. Is it a language barrier I dunno but we hardly made Aberdeens keeper make a save. Yet he says we made all these chances in their box I didn't see that tbh. It's time for a change but it won't happen until the structure sorted above.

greg sutherland

You've nailed it again. The "he will do a job for now" thought process is missing. Clement has a system and that system doesn't work for a guy like Dessers. He should have found someone from his list of contacts to fill that role at least temporarily

Damien Stubbs

😂😂 You aswell mate. Particularly enjoyed “this isn’t f*cking rocket science” that made me more well

Graham Roy

Oh well time to dive back into the looking glass which is following Rangers!

Ewan Christie

He’s going on about how a draw would have given a different perspective. Wrong! A draw still isn’t good enough, and that’s why he isn’t a rangers manager.

Callum Gordon

Thought today’s tune might have been a Moody Blues classic Go Now but suspect it’s been used sadly before .

Paul Kerr

Cheers David. The manager is keen to quote stats that suit him, but it's the ones he avoids, the win rate and goal tally away from home that don't lie. The temp managerial solution you've 'mooted' (🤭sorry I couldn't resist) makes a lot of sense. Suppose it depends who's interested. I don't see a McLeish style turnaround in many of these players. They don't have the quality or the heart.

Tom

It's the hope that kills you, f#©k the hope!

Charles McIntyre

PC clearly after last night just doesn't get what being a Rangers Manager is all about.

Paul Kerr

DoF not the worst call. A lot been said about ex-players, less commuting. He'd run a tight ship if that's a move he wanted to make.

CRAIG CASSELLS

I don't believe the SG is the answer, he was perfect guy for that specific time. The great thing about him was he had standards and demanded that every part of the football club raised theirs to match his. Sad to say these standards have gone, we are a shambles both on and off the pitch. I followed Rangers throughout the dreadful 80's and I fear a return to the apathy of those days. The fans are sick and tired of the crap we have had to endure ( EL final excepted) since SG's departure. Another wrong turn and ST renewals in the summer could hit the floor

William Hughes

The Dutch club that Dessers came from must still be pissin themselves they managed to get shot of him for that sort of money. I can't watch the guy anymore. He's hiding. A Rangers No.9? Aye right.

Colin Carstairs

One thing I will add this core group of players are now so comfortable seeing off yet another manager when PC does eventually get the tin tack.

David Clapperton

See tbh that probably was one of our better 15/20 minute spells this season, at the start of the 2nd half…. And we still never looked like winning. So that just speak about how bad the rest of the performances have been.

Alexander Laird

As Director of Football though was what I meant. Aye, in real life probably won't happen but we need to be looking at that level. I keep saying it like a broken record but we are not just another football club. At this point we need what's left of the board to act with the ambition and dignity that's becoming of Rangers.

JimGLW

Thanks David. Sadly spot on.

CRAIG CASSELLS

As an older Bear this is the dreadful 80's prior to Holmes appointing Souness. Rangers then were genuinely the 4th or 5th best team in the country and drastic action was necessary to stop the rot. Anyone watching You Tube highlights from the time can't fail to see the sparse crowds which were very much the norm. Souness's appointment immediately lifted the club and fans - we need something similar to inject some excitement as well as hope moving forward

Leslie White

David I understand your anger, to me this is us taking back to the shit show of John Greig/Davy White and Stiens real nine. We’ve came through dark times how long digits going to take which looks worse?

Neil 55

Well said David you put my thoughts into words.👍

Calum Robertson

One of our better performances of the season, Jesus that’s a low bar

Colin Ferguson

What a shit night and shit day at work. I think you call it banter, but it felt like the final nail into the coffin.. But I have to give it to you David, that incredulous pause on 2min 15 secs... says it all fir me and it me smile. Which has been hrad lately.. Through the Good, the bad and the ugly, you and the lads never let us down... I probably speak for everyone when I say this... It's much appreciated, evenn on bad days like today 👏

John Gow

I keep hearing people say we can’t afford to sack Clement. We can’t afford to keep him. Any competent manager will get us second but he won’t. He’s already finished so just get rid for his sake and ours because he’s eventually going to be hounded out at Ibrox.

John Hood

Thanks David. At least someone (you) is talking sense. Loving your therapeutic sessions.

Iain Shaw

Couldn't agree more David. Particularly the part about this not being rocket science, which I think a lot of people have lost sight of. Competing in this league should be a case of winning the vast majority of games against the rest, allowing for the inevitable occasional dropped points, then seeing what we can do against Celtic. We should go into every game against Celtic capable of running them close: Aberdeen have taken a point at Parkhead this season, ok not a win but still; Killie and Hearts each beat them twice last season. If those teams can turn up, why is it beyond us? The money we have spent over the past three summers may be small potatoes compared to Man City or Real Madrid, but let's not kid ourselves: For fees of £3-5m we should be getting players who are more than capable challenging for titles, not faltering at Rugby Park and Pittodrie or grinding out one-goal wins against the rest of the SPL.

Graeme McLeod

If anything he's benefited from the boardroom being a shambles - he somehow managed to get a contract extension out of them.

Jon

Gerrard in as dof

Big Ian

If that's our sides maximum, we're fucked 🙄😳

Rona Bluebell

David, I have every faith you could be an astronaut. Well articulated on behalf of all of us though.

Scott Christian

Agree something else has to be tried now. I’ve always thought it a bit backwards to limit the search to a Scottish manager (unless the right one available of course), but right now I feel this is the way the club must go. We’ve had too many who talk the talk about Rangers must win, etc but provide little evidence in walking the walk when it comes to setting up a team to win. All the trips to the likes of Ross County, Livingston, et al with a team set up not to lose rather than win shows that too many managers have taken their toll and the players have that attitude embedded in their psyche. But who do we go for? McCabe? Can’t see the club asking McInnes which is effectively going cap in hand to someone who previously turned the job down and that’s too much of a climb down even for this inept board. We’re all so scunnered and I don’t think many people know the answer, but the starting point at least is getting the CEO over the line, and the right one at that and then rebuilding the structure right from the foundations. It’s downright embarrassing to look across the city and see competence. That lot have their player trading and scouting systems on a different planet let alone level to us. When they signed McCowan it reminded me of us in the 90s. A talented core squad with additional competent, slightly above average domestic players who will take care of business against the rest of the pile. And they even seem to have understood to change their approach in European competition. The flagship discussed apathy a couple of weeks back, and for anyone who remembers the early 80s then there seems a very real danger we’re closer than ever to those days of vast spaces in the stands. Why would you spend your hard earned on watching this mob right now? I’ll still try to get up for games every now and then but it’s getting harder and harder to justify.

William George Bell

I’m fed up with his talk of players in the building out of the building and using it as an excuse all the time.

Ryan laird

Well said today. Bravo. Spoken like how we all feel

Graeme Burns

Yep - build something and be patient - stop “swinging for fences” - do better with what we have; develop our players and help them reach their potential - sacking PC is a carbon copy of sacking GVB and you can’t say that worked. Hard work required from talented people.

Spoon

Agree with 99% of your comment bud, not sure I agree with waiting on a manager though. The issue, for me at least, isn’t we have done the same thing in terms of timing it’s that we have brought in continental coaches with the wrong vision or ethos. I’m sure our board loved all the sky spots analysis chat from recent applicants talking about how they would impose a style and continue the Euro nights but what we probably actually needed was a down to earth gritty, slide tackle your own gran to win the ball, Scottish type manager who gets the league and how teams play against us domestically. I buy into all the other stuff you say but knowing how tight the end of the season is to how quick we need to be ready to go again, organised and with our players settled and not getting visas or building ikea furniture etc I would have the manager in ASAP and be working on coaching, working on a system and setting a foundation. I don’t agree on the bounce being a bad thing. My logic is if it’s the right guy doing the right things the bounce doesn’t need to end, it’s quite fatalistic to suggest it has to. If the new guys going to fail he’s going to fail initially, short / medium or long terms as he’s not adapting and growing. If he is the right guy giving him time is essential, for me you do no less harm rushing him into a new season half prepared. The cycle has to stop but to me it’s the quality and fit element that needs to be better, probably not just letting a shareholder pick the guy he likes would be a start, the timing isn’t the deciding factor for me. Respect your view but don’t share it.

Heart and Hand

He hid last night. At one point we broke up the park and I looked to see where he was. he was lying twenty yards back complaining to the ref.

Billy McCormack

That was a heavy sigh David when you read out Clements presser.

Brian Cairney

These owners won’t leave of their own accord. They need hounded!

Heart and Hand

Most of them live abroad. And if you hound the Parks, ask anyone who knows/has ever had dealings with them, they will tell you the same - they will just dig their heels in further.

Spoon

Possibly but if the person you want is available I would have them in asap, I don’t think it’s inevitable someone has to bounce then stall, particularly if they are the right fit. I can see the general point but just think when most of the manager talk about the time needed to implement ideas and transition teams to their style the sooner you start the sooner you make progress IF your doing it right. Delaying a start means delaying the fix. I totally agree we haven’t done it right, the argument could be made we might not do it right again, but the timing to me isn’t the point of failure it’s the stuff around it. I take your point and respect the view just don’t think it’s impossible to get someone in that’s good (even if you need to pay to get them) and stop the rot and start the healing. If the board aren’t backing the new guy he could be Mourinho and still not turn it around on his own!

William Hughes

Know the break you're mentioning. Said before the game, wouldn't it be nice if he just has a decent game and not moaning to the ref constantly. That lasted 5 minutes. It's not just him although being our No.9 he sticks out. Nothing sticks, no front post runs, have no confidence one on one. Tearing my hair out watching him. Give the young lad Lovelace his chance. He certainly can't be any worse unfortunately.

Joe Ward

This is what the players want. "The players know they will see off the manager" this is the 3rd manager in 3 years were the season is pretty much over come halloween. When was the last time there was soo many tickets flying about for European matches and the semi final and it's only going to get worse. He has too go but whoever replaces him must come in and drop players like tav, dessers etc would rather develop our youth than play players that can't be arsed doing the basics

Mark Harvey

I've never been closer to chucking my season ticket. Being a Rangers fan is an endless expense with little joy. Absolutely scunnered with the whole scenario and re-evaluating how I spend my hard earned money and more importantly my time.

Ross

Feel like I have Deja vu

Alastair Thomson Mills

Aberdeen have tried various managers and have found Thelin. Let’s throw the dice again.

Alastair Thomson Mills

Well said David. Is it going to take us losing on Sunday for PC to be sacked?

Jason

Cracking podcast, and probably one of the best I've heard you do. Absolutely hit the nail on the head, and don't disagree with anything you said on the state of the club just now.

Ross Sinton

The manager has to go now, I think that’s clear for everyone. The biggest problem is what’s above that position at the moment with exec team etc, No leadership or expertise in how to guide a club. I would have clement go on Gardening leave now and sort out upstairs. Give yourself time to do this by getting a temp in till the summer. The current board talk about the player trading model but every game that is played under Clement will only further depreciate players value. Get someone in with clear style and identidy and some of these guys who are getting written off may prove a few wrong and actually turn into a sellable asset.

Colin Gardner

His pressers are brain damage. I can't even listen to him now. Any Manager who continues to play Dessers and McCausland then there is only one outcome!

Robbie McCarroll

The arrogance of managers thinking multi million pound players will stroll our league. I’m surprised clement has fallen prey to this as he has evidence of past managers and he even quoted we need to be stronger / fitter then disregards it. Getting basics wrong at the back is criminal managerial 101 ! We need to sign a couple big ugly bastards and a few athletes feels like a quick win to start.

Greig Neilson

What a tune Davie, never heard that before. Album on now.

CAMPBELL DAVIDSON

Best physical, mental, tactical, technical team was the promise. And yet we are miles off it in every factor. Weak, fragile, aimless, devoid of the basics.

Spoon

Only difference is that GVB got no players, no backing despite far more success and stabbed in the back by the board. PC has shown he wanted and signed the wrong players so far on the evidence we have. His system also looks like it won’t work no matter what players he gets so not sure it’s exactly the same but I do agree GVB was wrongly sacked.

CJT

Wish it wasn’t like that, but hard to argue either any of that.

Thomas Blair

I’m not one for hot takes or shock reactions but Clement must go. Bring in Kevin Thomson or similar, Get the CEO&SD appointed and give them time to appoint the right manager (Potter?). Focus on getting Jefte Ridvan Raskin Cortes Dio Igamane Danilo playing every week. Make Rice Nsiala Lovelace Curtis and anyone else promising permanent members of first team match squads. It won’t be perfect but it’ll be a start

Spoon

We should have signed Shankland, he was the “do a job” guy right in front of us. Physical, robust, has dig and could have been 9 or 10 with a partner. The pearl clutching around the price tag, his perceived euro limitations and Clements disinterest was incredible at the time and looks worse now. All ifs and buts but a few in like him or McLean and I suspect last season and this go differently.

Stewart Robertson

Regarding gardening leave is that what happened with Gio and Beale and when they get a job do they stop paying them?

Ian Bone

Great pod David, very cathartic. You summed up how I'm feeling about it all but in a much more eloquent manner. I think PC is done, and there is no coming back with the support, his post-match comments have sealed his fate for me. I also agree about the gap not being insurmountable. That is basically the same Aberdeen team as last year, without their best player! Yet they are on a great run and deserved that result last night. Much as it might stick in our collective throats, they also went two down at Parkhead but fought back for a draw. If we were two down there would be zero chance of a fightback, as we have seen so many times. We can close the gap on Celtic, but that requires a manager who can put belief into a squad, establish a style and be pragmatic and take tough decisions when things are going badly. My overriding impression of PC is that he is stubborn and simply won't adapt to circumstances.

Andrew Hind

Taking her shopping at weekend is more appealing than watching that rubbish at the moment

Stuart Laidlaw

Have to say you summed it up perfectly

Stewart Robertson

You know, I’ve just read ALL the comments, and I can’t find a single dissenting voice. That says it all.

Stigger

Weak and spineless team. Manager surely doesn’t know the requirements of a Gers manager.

James Anderson

TAV must go... Cant let him do more damage

8luenose1872

David have u heard anything about a major rift at board level and its hindering the ceo etc search. My money is on Park being the arrogant and inept one.

Billy Forrester

I said at the time, we should have signed Porteus from hibs and also Scott McKenna, battle hardened defenders who can do the rough and tumble of the SPL, Josh doig another who we didn’t go for, instead we went for soft foreign projects Time to get hard rough and ready players proven in the league mixed with some quality. Get mcinnes in for next season, he will have us set up well and be battle hardened

ally keith

Another great pod David, How about we start a rebuild from sunday… Stop playing all the duds we have and give the young guys a chance, The young guys would improve our team and show something these duds aren’t….Passion and Heart….

ally keith

Imagine a Terry Hurlock in Scottish football today…He will be in the stands more than he plays …

Heart and Hand

A wonderful band mate. One of my favourite albums. Production is awful but the songwriting still shines.

Heart and Hand

I think the thing hampering the search is that proper leaders won't stand for having to run every little detail past the board.

James Anderson

Sick of the nonsence that this player can only play 60 minutes etc.....just play the feckers

8luenose1872

If this board stick with clement there will be a real risk of losing out on europa league money next season and it will set us back so we would have to keep playing these duds coz no cnt is buying them and we will not be able to buy any new ones.

David Kiltie

The Sheep’s experience post McInnes - Glass was a sentimental appointment rather than a hardheaded choice. Goodwin flopped despite a good record at St Mirren - maybe a case of wrong job at wrong time. Robson illustrated the difference between being a coach or assistant and being the main man. With Thelin they seem to have found the real deal. Will our next appointment be a case of 4th time lucky or Groundhog Day? If PC gets the chop then I agree that a stop gap appointment is necessary so the new guy starts with a clean slate in the close season. Just as importantly we need to fill the positions of chairman, CEO and DOF before any decision in respect of new manager.

Corpse Reviver

Terrific pod as always, thanks David.

David Kiltie

That was symptomatic of the summer 2023 transfer fiasco, which is a major factor in the recent horrific financial results. This demonstrated the need for a DOF in place. Most people couldn’t wait to see the back of Ross Wilson but was having a duff DOF perhaps a lesser evil than not having one at all?

David Kiltie

The period of a few minutes when the Sheep scored, hit the post and then missed the penalty says a lot about our team’s mentality. Surely they should have got a lift from 2 get out of jail cards in quick succession - the feeling that luck is on our side today. Just didn’t happen.Similarly at Breezeblock in September when Kyogo’s goal was disallowed by VAR. Rather than giving the players a lift from the goal being disallowed and the sense that the opposition would be deflated, our players seemed spooked by the fact that the filth had the ball in the net.

David Kiltie

The idea is that Muscat would have been a blue version of Postecoglou. Postecoglou inherited a binfire but was able to spend £50m in short order to put things right, not a position any Rangers manager is going to be in.

Hendi

We've been moaning about injuries for years, yet as soon as we start listening to medical advice and acting on it, we are moaning at that as well.

Gordon Watson

100% correct on everything David. We’re being whipped up in a twin tornado of “Player Trading Model” versus debt to shares “investment” which is killing us. We keep fucking up the former and being forced into the latter and on and on it goes. To establish the former you need proper capital investment to set the stage (a la Gerrard era), then on you go. Instead we keep doing this from a standing start and making an arse of it then pushing reset. Answer? Find new investment. That doesn’t come from the Commercial Executive, although that’s part of it, it should be coming from directors attracting new investment upstairs. That’s not happening and it’s not bloody well good enough because our horizon of hope keeps getting shifted over and over again.

Andy Barnett

David Edgar for chairman, ceo, director of football and head coach. Perfectly summed up.

Tommy

We all knew in the summer the attack was the priority. Nils Koppen failed to deliver. Spent a lot of money and bought a lot of players. Didn’t address the critical need for a striker to come in and start. He needs to take some responsibility here. And this isn’t saying Clement is not to blame. But his job isn’t being made easier by continual piss poor recruitment by someone who either doesn’t understand our needs or doesn’t understand Scottish football

Ian w

I remember when Clement arrived and we thought we had got ourselves a good one. As soon as the Motherwell, Ross County and Dundee debacles happened he turned into an embarrassing bullshitter.

Agree with most of what you say Gordon but not agreeing fully re capital investment of the Gerrard era. History has rewritten this a little, the financial behaviours of the board during this era took us to a terrible financial position where the sales of Bassey, Aribo, Patterson etc essentially paid the bill for 55 and wasn’t the springboard for the future. A lot requires sorted now but I don’t want to see us go back to financial recklessness like we’ve been doing on an intermittent basis in the last 10 years. No quick or easy solution unfortunately.

That’s a good point David but I really think if Kev had access to the money we spent this summer he’d have done a far better job. Plus he’d have given us a style that excited the fans. And if the players didn’t suit it, well then they wouldn’t play. Even give the academy guys a chance. If it is a possibility we could still get him somehow I’d be grabbing it with both hands

Heart and Hand

I think it’s less about delaying the fix as building up to maximise the chance of success. This season isn’t going to end in a title. Let’s start building to try to ensure the next few do.

David if we could get Kev, I would encourage the board to grasp it with both hands. It’s not just that I like him as a guy and a coach, I’ve just always had this gut instinct that he’d be a perfect leader for our club

Same shite, different year. We've turned into Celtic in the 90s.

We're in danger of turning into Hearts. The odd cup win here and there but the league as far away as it's ever been. It's depressing.

Why am I still engaging? I'm 17000kms away, I could mute everything and get on with my life! But oh no, just bring the pain.

Ridvan, Danilo, Matondo and possibly Cortes , all need sold or put out on loan in January . Never fit and must be on between them all together £75-100k a week in wages. I know wont all happen in January but they are a waste of squad space. How do these people get away with it.

Bit late to the party with this DU but my tuppence worth is that I'm sick of talk like " player trading model " ...... is it any coincidence that our biggest Transfer fees com about after being semi successful on the park ? Players like Alan Hutton Nathan Patterson Calvin Bassey were sold off performances on the park so let's get back to that before talking about " player trading models " ....... think we'll have to stick with clement in the short term to see how November/December plays out ..... especially given the recent revisionism on many fans that now think we shouldve stuck with Gio as manager

I said.. if we had scott mckenna in our box. No way does gogic have that freedom. But no let's buy a Dutch guy who's played in Europe bla bla bla. fully agree with you. we need to stop overcomplicating the recruitment process. Cortes 4mil LW? injured. Danilo 6mil(makes my stomach turn btw ) injured. Our spending is diabolical. 4mil dessers. we would be better with that wee Montgomery from killie and shankland for example At least you know they're available week in week out and will run themselves into the ground every 90 mins. They've got a bit dig. This team have lost their heart and fight and that to me is the hardest thing is to watch. I would take mccinnes in a heartbeat. Think shinnie got mom on Wednesday, does that surprise me? No. When shinnie left one on barron and put him in the touch line, where are the players? Where is tav? Where is the fight to say you touch him again and one of us will land you one? Shinnie would have openly said before the game "I'll leave one on barron" etc its part of the game here. We are so weak and soft it's actually embarrassing and that's why teams just over run us with determination and fight.

Only one man can do CEO and Chairman and its the H&H chancellor…Andy McGowan

Yeah, not the best name for a Bear in recent times. I think I would have got less shit if my name was Bobby Sands.
