Olympiakos 1-1 Rangers Postmatch Reaction 7 Nov 2024

A very solid away point for the Gers in Greece leaves David pretty happy.

A striker that cost us the victory but also got us the draw 🤯

Colin Gardner

Glad you look and sound a hell of a lot better. Raskin and Barron were superb. Haha agree on Dessers, drives us all bonkers.Misses 2 easier chances then scores a brilliant goal. I give up😂😂

John Hood

6 away games in Europe undefeated. Excellent performance tonight 👏

David Campbell

A shout out to the wonderfully named red sauce who dessers sent out for a hotdog🤣 Well done tonight Rangers

Graham Soderlund

I feared the worst but ended up very proud of that performance 👋

Rose Mcloughlin

Glad to see you looking and sounding better...Raskin was brilliant and young Baron..our defence was doing well too...then there is Dessers ...at least we know he will get 1 out of the 5 chances he gets and probably the opposition eventually decide he is never going to score so relax and he nips one in ha ha...good score in the end.

Craig

If Raskin had taken the last minute booking in last season's cup final, we'd have taken it to extra time. Lesson learned, hopefully.

William Donaghy

Good to see that smile back David 😀 raskin and barron where absolutely fantastic this evening 🔴⚪️🔵

Colin Kennedy

Enjoyable 90mins. Repeat - enjoyable 90mins. In control and players had lots of energy. Let’s convert this to our domestic form!

Stuart Crawford

Is that 5 games undefeated away in Europe now? If only we could get our act together in the league & show this same fight. Hopefully a turning point but yeah I agree. We need a striker in January. Badly.

Dougie McAllister

Great result tonight I think Barron edged it for me as Raskin miss passed a lot early in the game.... sorry David 😞

Gordon McCool

Hearts, or 9 other teams for that matter, don’t play like Olympiacos do, so expect more of the same SPFL standard performance on Sunday. Hopefully I’m wrong.

John Smith

Hearts game will be very interesting

G Calder

We have been asking for evidence we are progressing - We have Malmo , FCSB & tonight .. maybe time to wind our necks in just a wee bit & back the manager & the team .

Craig Murray

That was a top class european away performance tonight, fair play to the manager for dropping tav as he would have been destroyed tonight, and i must say i love Cernys attitude since the Lyon miss, well done tonight the teddy bears.

Jamie Gourlay

I was more relaxed before this game than eg Killie and Aberdeen. It shows what needs to happen domestically

Simon H&H

For the first time in a while, actually looking forward to us playing at home in the league at weekend

Steff Clarke

I was just surprised that Big Jig was managing the Greek side tonight.

Dave White

We have a team for European football but not Scottish football. Same as we had under PLG and Gio.

Dr Jekyll midweek will it be Hyde at the weekend ? Midfield excellent, big difference for me with Raskin was that he used the ball extremely well once he won it. Winning it’s fine but can you find a pass and release a player? Passing was forward and positive and sets the tone. Totally agree on the Raskin foul, was screaming at the tv to chop the boy and take the card, great to see us having the euro brain to do it and a player willing to take one for the team. Dessers isn’t the long term answer totally agree but tonight against a more open defence with the ball staying higher and support you get more from him, that won’t happen domestically. Another euro goal that when he is being slated will be chalked off as not a big game but hopefully it generates interest from a club who might take him in January as he will do a job for someone and we might get decent money back. His work rate will pass some by and I would have said only his first chance was a poor finish the second was a good save from a shot on target that came in fast. I will confess to feeling guilty about my enthusiasm for the game. I can’t bring myself to believe Clement or some of these players won’t just crumble again so what should have been a great night didn’t really feel like it. No logic to it, certainly don’t want us to ever lose a game but can’t quite feel it makes up for a the rest of the shit show or really change the fact I’m raging about where we are currently, especially domestically. On its own as a Euro night though that’s an excellent result and performance away at a tough venue.
