I remember that day vividly. My Dad had taken my elder brother to the game. Fortunately, they were in the main stand. They had also gone to the pub after the match and were unaware until much later the tragedy unfolding. Watching the news on a small black and white television had put the fear into my Mum and Gran. Relief when my Dad and brother returned . GBNF

Physical pain is obviously painful. But I think psychological pain could be potentially worse. Whenever you lose someone close to you it’s hard but it’s especially traumatic when it happens suddenly and well before their time. To all those who lost a loved one on this day in 1971 I send all my love. To the 66 I hope you are in eternal bliss always looking down to check in on us mortals. I hope the team give you something to smile about today 💙
