The original poster of that FF thread is me, bigdish77, and I don’t really watch TV much but when I do it’s things Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire, Breaking Bad, West Wing; I like “realistic” things set in more or less modern day; not fantasy or futuristic stuff. Eels- there was a Vietnamese restaurant in Glasgow that I tried a couple of years back, and I gave one of their Eel dishes a try, it was was a bit bone and rubbery but I thought try something different being in a different place. Food question, I was the same, we normally had set meals for each night, so a roast on Sunday meant you had left overs the next night, ham, cabbage and boiled tatties, mince, stew, Friday always fish on the grounds my step dad kicked with the other foot, Saturday was chicken. Come the summer it was about 10 different combinations of salads. Learned to hate food like potted ham (would be made in a wee trifle pot) when you turned it upside down to get it out all the jelly would be on it boak, Tongue and cod roll which basically looked like a big white jobbie. I suppose money was tight and growing up in the east end if you didn't eat what was put down you went hungry.

My gran used to look after me in the school holidays when I was a wee boy, so my parents could work. She used to give me a corned beef sandwich every day for my lunch. Now as a 30 year old, I cannot eat corned beef as I am absolutely scunnered with it. Even the thought of it gives me the boke

I listen to the Monday Club pod cast and one on the boys on there (Chris) says that the two teenage boys he works with get naked when they go for a shit. Not together or anything -just when they go for a dump on their own they take all the clothes off before laying some pipe Apparently it's a young guy thing Fuckin weirdos

100% think Colin should have his own animal facts show! I work in a nursery and any RBR with kid friendly animal facts gets shared (and no I don’t take the credit) they’re all obsessed and it’s become a routine where every Friday they want to know Colin’s animal facts (I share one each time so I’ve got a few stocked up)

Corned beef and mash with peas was known as corned beef hash to us. I don't think any hash was in the ingredients. Also, why is corned beef expensive?

I hate that canned corned beef. My Dad would grate the canned meat, mix it with cheese sauce and put mashed potatoes on top kinda like a shitty Shepard's pie. I get the boke just seeing a can of the stuff. Salads though, I was convinced until I was a teenager that a salad was cold meat, lettuce, boiled egg and some sauce that was salad cream mixed with ketchup. I hate both now, but wouldn't change it for the world. 80s and 90s was a great time to grow up.
