I've never boo'd a player onto the park but I'm Sorry Leon, when you're a Rangers number 9 and you've not volunteered to be one of the 1st five to take a penalty you deserve every thing you get. Especially when you've previously downed tools in the middle of a match and ran off the park and up the tunnel with a fake eye injury

Dessers not taking a penalty in the cup final has really pissed some fans off. Booing a player coming onto the pitch is mental though.

Booing any rangers player is wrong. Dessers has openly spoken about his struggles with mental health issues, and for people to boo and shout abuse at the guy is a disgrace IMO.

I’m going to disagree with you civilly Tamus. Leon is sticking up for his teammate. I want to see that from the players. For a few years now, it’s been noticeably absent - like when Tillman was pushed to the ground. Only Kemar Roofe came across to back him up, despite three Thistle players standing over Tillman, abusing him.

Booing the team off, whilst it's not my cup of tea, I can understand to a point. Booing individual players coming off is bad enough, but booing them coming onto the park is utterly ridiculous.

We have to let this go re Dessers not taking a pen in the final. I certainly didn't want him to as I had zero confidence he would put it away. You'd never back him to score one on one with a keeper.

Saying "we should only sign forwards who are good at penalties" is absolutely fine - but that's a different argument, and it's outside any player's control

Dessers not taking a penalty has already been explained and is widely available online. It was decided by the manager/staff that he would be 6th taker during the week of the team practicing them prior to the final. It had nothing to do with him volunteering or not, to be in the 5 takers. I'm sure the last penalty he took was for Nigeria and he missed. Should he be our first choice striker? Absolutely not and he is probably too expensive to justify as an impact sub but IMO, It's pathetic and ill informed that some still hold a grudge against him due to him not taking a penalty. Again... he didn't refuse and would have taken the next one if required. I've said it before but the targeted booing is disgraceful.

I genuinely don't think its as complicated as that. I don't know what happened with Morelos or his mum but it's an entirely different situation anyway. It's perfectly normal and expected for the manager to select his penalty takers before a game. Incidentally, Morelos as our main striker didn't hit our penalties either and after witnessing the one he did hit and miss, likely wouldn't have been in with the 5 takers.

Good on Balagoun calling out the abuse that Dessers has been subjected to. It's not "support", it's bullying behaviour. Too many of our own (including some podders) have delighted in indulging in such behaviour towards Dessers and Barisic before him. Embarassing.

Nice of Balogun to stick up for his pal, but he's one I'd gladly see the back of too. Injury prone and one of many who inspires no confidence that this team will produce in the big moments. I wouldn't single out any Rangers player for abuse during a game, but I also don't particularly care about the "harsh treatment" of any of this squad. They aren't good enough to a man.

One of our players who bottled out of taking a penalty kick in a cup final Vs Celtic A Rangers number 9 no less who wasn't one of 5 to put their head above the parapit (or if you want to believe the manager a Rangers centre forward is is less likely to score a penalty than a goalkeeper or a fullback who'd never taken one before) That makes him one of two things A coward or a dud Neither of which is acceptable for a Rangers centre forward

Balogun always gave and will give 100 per cent, there are many shirkers on the list earning far more who need gone, Let’s start with Matondo, Lawrence and Dowell, 70k per week, over 3.5 million a year and I offer the same influence from Govan Rear as they do on games, I certainly turn up more than these 3.

I would introduce a rule to only sign under 23s, much still to prove and offer, once over 25 so many players just going through the motions for me especially your championship players from England, avoid these at all cost, never a decent return on investment.

He's a #9 in shirt only. When everyone is fit he is our 3rd choice striker. A guy who has taken 1 penalty in 18 months because our right back takes every penalty, and missed penalties for Nigeria. No one except Dessers and Clement know why he didn't take one. Maybe in practise he missed every single attempt, maybe he had a niggle and didn't feel right, maybe he knew he'd get dogs abuse if he missed and given his mental health struggles decided against it. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't by some "fans". It's not his fault he was made our main striker because of injuries and nobody else brought in when he clearly isn't up to being that talisman. Like I said no one knows for sure what went on, everything else is pure speculation, and booing is a disgrace IMO.
