Diomande was recently considered garbage by some of our fans. I honestly don’t see what these people see some of the time, clearly a classy player. Raskin had a similar spell. We clearly don’t give players enough of a chance. And I hold my hands up, I made my mind up on Igamane far too early. Another good home win. I wonder where we’d be if our away form with where it should be. Hopefully 1 or 2 in to bolster, and 1 or 2 more out.

I’ve always liked Diamonde, my brother on the other hand criticised him heavily and we used to argue all the time, last few weeks he’s seen the light. Just all about opinions, the Dundee Utd game at Ibrox which was one of our worst performances this season, I was tearing what hair I’ve got left out with Igamane who kept drifting out wide, I would never have believed that guy would turn things so dramatically.

Kev and Simon have been on the car pod for 100% of our 4-0 wins this season COINCIDENCE?

And here lies the problem. Some of our fans make their minds up on players and manager far too soon. This negativity is driven by the YouTube fan media platforms with one being particularly bad. You’ll know the one I’m referring to. A lot of fans can’t accept the predicament we’ve got our squad into as a result of the Ross Wilson era. They boo their own player entering the field of play then cheer every touch yesterday. They want to give youth a chance then write them off as not good enough when they’ve had 2 or 3 first team games. Leon King, Ross McCausland even Nsialla etc. I used to watch a few of the YouTube fan media forums but can’t watch any of them now.

I learned a long time ago that we have to give players time to settle in at Ibrox. The two examples I go to are John McClelland and Mark Hateley. Both had really difficult bedding in periods and had the fans on their back. Both turned it around . McClelland went on to captain the club to cup success and was a stalwart defender. Hateley went on to club legend status and the Hall of Fame. For the ultimate example of this phenomenon look no further than Alistair Murdoch McCoist OBE.
