The notification appeared and my heart fluttered...has it happened? Nah, it's the Daily Update 😂

George Higgins

I think given the figure to sack him is within our means the board must be giving him until at least the end of the European run.

Phil Morrison

Would u take Gerrard back if that meant he brought Beale with him

Mark Rennie

If 1.2 is the correct figure you've got to ask why he's not been sacked. The europa league run covers that if there's nothing. Then you've got patrick stewart in hospitality after the game saying utter nonsense like, we should judge him next season, the xg had improved and the wage bill has came down. Excellent all well and good but by the start of February we're not going to win a domestic trophy

Richard Birnie

Totally agree with everything you have said David 👍 Team has no fight or desire or structure and also no pace in the team . Manager has to go but the players also need to be held accountable

Chris McFadyen

1.2million - can we start a crowd fund and get him out?

Alex Dingwall

Thinking of you at this tough time for you and the family.

Jamie Gilchrist

Whilst im not media-savvy, the idea that the board - who are the only people who know the true settlement figure for PC - leaking info to The Sun just doesnt feel likely to have happened!

Jim Lamb

You’re bang on David, it’s all very tiring. We keep hearing about the good Rangers men involved behind the scenes. Where are they when they need to remove this failed manager for a season of failure, topped off with one of the worst results in the clubs history? Silence from the hierarchy is an insult to the support who back the club year after year, and in doing so, as you’ve said, all they are doing is alienating people with risk of causing long term damage.

Richard Stewart

I don’t think I’ll be renewing our 2 season tickets. I can’t make every game and the unreliability of Avanti trains means that I’ve missed most games this season. With games no longer at full capacity, the SeatSub is failing, as the seats are no longer being sold. There’s no entertainment from Rangers, and most games are boring and tedious, so it’s understandable that fans are voting with their feet.

Rick

Totally agree David I am also sick and tired of the total lack of success

Chris Scott

Hope you are your family are able to carve out a bit of time to yourselves, to grieve your loss and support each other. Take it easy, Davie - thinking of you all 💛

Stewart Robertson

Terrible news about Barisic. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Graeme Glennie

13:10 onwards is the absolute crux of the matter. The absolute apathy from the club, for me personally, hurts as a supporter. There is absolutely no indication from this club (even after a defeat as bad as sunday) that they either care or are showing any type of determination to fix the problems we have. Even hearing the manager and captain talk after the game. Where is the fire? Where is the anger in your belly to call the players out, or even call yourself out and say "this is an absolute fucking disgrace and we are sorry, it's on us and we promise to give everything to fix it". It's empty adjectives like "dissapointed" or "frustrated" used time and time again.

greg sutherland

What’s that Alan Partridge quotation? Oh yes. “People forget that on the Titanic’s maiden voyage there were over a thousand miles of uneventful, very pleasurable cruising before it hit the iceberg.”

Scott Kerr

Best wishes to you and the family David,🙏 Glad to hear you back today!!

Charlie Nicolson

Notwithstanding recency of arrival of Stewart and Thornton, their honeymoon is over. If they don't act soon they become tainted

Graeme Campbell

Totally agree David! Sick of the feeling of dread every game right now that I/we are just going to be let down again

East Enclosure

What will brighten up this grey Tuesday afternoon, I know, the H&H Daily update 🤯

Colin Gardner

Hopefully Avanti will be binned in 2026 mate. What I will say is most of the industrial action should be over by May and the timetable will be back to normal come next season if that helps. I get your frustration as I see it first hand but stick it out,it will get better.

Heart and Hand

Someone asked me ‘so we should sack a manager every time we lose to a lower division side in the cup?’ I said ‘given it’s only happened at home once in 153 years, yes.’

Alistair McInnes

I’m setting up a go fund me page to get rid of Clement. Anyone want to contribute?

Colin Gardner

The fact he hasn't been sacked up to now means he isn't going to be sacked now which infuriates me. If the worst result in our history isn't enough to get rid if this clown then nothing will.

Rona Bluebell

Welcome back David. Not been an easy time for you. Time is a great healer.

William Noble

I don’t think PC grasps the magnitude of this result

Leslie White

I have said this all along Clement does not get Scottish Football. His style is European, he hasn’t a clue when parking the bus tactics. The style of slow lethargic football V fast flowing football well we all know where we are!

William Noble

He keeps trying to play his European style in Scotland but it just doesn’t work

David Mackie

100% agree with you David. For me I am finished with this squad and finished with there losing mentality. But more than all of that I am finished with this manager because all the rest starts at his door. We are seeing no progress no ambition and no plan for the future. Get him out and as for our new CEO and board they better wake up to the support's drsire for change quickly because failure to do so will lead to even more unrest very quickly. Get him sacked pay him off now.

Linda Mackay

Agreed David, we are all tired of this constant failure and making the same mistakes on and off the park. I cannot listen to the manager or any of the players now. I feel indifferent to Rangers at present, something I've never felt like before, even when we were in the lower leagues. My only connection to them going forward will be through H&H. Social media is a cesspit, with our timelines being infiltrated by the unwashed. What those players and manager have put us through these last 2 days is quite simply unforgiveable.

William Noble

Scotland is our bread and butter if we win the league then we qualify for the champions league

Colin Wieland

We don't unfortunately. That ship has sailed. Champions in Scotland no longer go straight in from next season onwards. Rangers single handedly raised to coefficient for that to happen and gifted it to them.

JM

Daily Rant rather than Daily Update.

Steve Clark

Good to have you back David and to hear you on the flagship.nobody in this community would have thought anything less of you if you hadn’t spoke to cammy about Sunday given your family circumstances.i agree with every word you said about the manager.

Jason Arnold

I’m fed up of hearing the “we need to win every game” line. Their actions speak louder than words, abject performances tell me that they don’t believe they need to win every game. A lack of intensity, starting games like they’ve forgotten that effort is required is not the actions of players/management that know what is required to win trophies. Ultimately, as manager of Rangers, if you’re not winning trophies, you should be on your way out so Clement needs to go. The players should be playing for their futures at the club as well, it’s clear a number of them aren’t showing that they’re good enough.

Ian Milne

If the people in charge can’t muster up the money to get rid of Clement they shouldn’t be at Rangers.

stuart wood

Bad news for Borna. Sounds exactly like one of 'our' transfer stories. ACL done within 10 minutes of a debut .

Alan Cowan

Maybe as a support we should attend the women's team as an alternative to the men's. I'm sure the girls would appreciate a full house each time and at least we'll see some goals and some money would go to the club. What's your thoughts on that guys?

Graham Sinclair Walker

The dismissal of how absolutely crucial Europe is for us baffles me. Quite simply it's the only way we can improve our finances. If fans don't care about how much European performances enhance our reputation outside Scotland then they are parochial beyond belief.

Graham Roy

Shock horror Hugh Keevins wrong! We should stick him on gardening leave if we don’t want to pay all the money!

Jimmy Price

What a great idea to give him an extension to his contract!

James Rae

Clement sets the standard so low and still fails to meet it. Then he sets the standard lower again, rinse and repeat. Excuses after excuses to explain it.

Angela Frater

It never ceases to amaze me how the media twist the financial thing in order to pander to the green and grey masses. Keevins making up crap about not being able to afford to pay off the manager. The other night I heard him say we couldn't afford £400k for Lyall Cameron. No idea where he picked that figure because Camerons development fee will likely be decided by tribunal, and any extra is paid to get him in Jan (I think?) ,but the truth is the manager only said the decision not to bring in Cameron this window was "a financial one". That doesn't mean we couldn't afford it. It meant that the board felt it didn't make financial sense to bring him in now - perhaps the amount Dundee were looking for to get him now, along with any development fee set later wasn't worth it,and Rangers felt that waiting till Summer made more sense against what little benefit they felt we could get bringing him in Jan. Not once has it been said anywhere we couldn't afford him (even if that is the case), but that's the way it has been trooped out in the media because it panders to the other side of the city.

Scott Watson

Can we have domestic success without the financial rewards of (relative) European success?

D

Realise you might just be scunnered and letting off steam but if you are considering it would you mind getting in touch and I can explain why I’m interested

Graham Sinclair Walker

Our most damaging defeat this season was to a poor Dynamo Kiev team. The fact that most fans' anger then pales in comparison to now shows a complete mix up of priorities

David Campbell

Put the guy on leave he doesn't deserve 1.2mill in a lump sum, Some team in Europe will take him in the summer 100% Hes just not been the correct fit for our club.

Jason McMillan

The performance on Sunday was unprofessional and arrogant. A complete failure to recognise what it means for lower league teams to play against Rangers. It was the biggest stage many, if not all, the QP players will ever play on, and they were going to give it everything they had for 90 mins. We never matched their commitment. Complacency and lack of understanding about what Rangers represents cost us the game. A culture the manager is responsible for creating, evidencing by the fact he doesn't really grasp the significance of the result. It's time to go, Phil.

Douglas Innes

He should get the Europa ties and see where that takes us , changing for an interim till the summer won't benefit us and is change for changes sake ......... fans might not like it but we can't afford to change managers every 12-18 months , only way the club negates that is 12 months rolling contract but that brings its own problems ie any coach with a successful CV wont touch us, plus any success and your manager is poached at a fraction of his worth.

Graham Sinclair Walker

What if we'd won on sunday and gone on to win the cup - what money would that have brought in? Enough to treat the players to a Happy Meal. To those who say it's not just about money have you seen the figures posted by the other mob today? Of course we prioritise winning the league but we will only do that with quality players and the only source of decent money to buy them right now is Europe

Fraser T8

Ffs! Still no "manager sacked" special episode?? No word from the club since Sunday. No way to treat customers, let alone fans. Contemptuous behaviour from the board towards us.

David Campbell

Absolutely mate but if the money is a issue just keep paying him and someone will take him in the summer. I certainly wouldn't be handing over 1.2mill for failure. Obviously that would mean paying 2 managers at the same time but so be it that's a consequence of this mistake.

Bryan Watson

Resigned to the fact he is going nowhere which is again mortifying because you are 100% right David. There has to be consequences that show that this in no way is acceptable at Rangers and if losing at home to a mid table Championship side is on some level acceptable, then I'm not really sure what this club is but it is certainly not Rangers. I regard Michael Beale as my mortal enemy and not even he had a low this low (came close to it right enough v Partick Thistle & Greenock Morton) or the audacity to say that he shouldn't be sacked because fans were behind him before (arguably) the worst result in the club's history 😂. Its a total farce and yes the manager (and the team) have done well in the Europa League however, lets be realistic we are getting knocked out either this coming round or in the quarter finals. If being good in Europe is all of a sudden a saving grace for being terrible domestically then you have to spare a thought for Giovanni van Bronckhorst. He achieved more for us in Europe and was better domestically yet was (still rightly) sacked. The standards are non-existent and have been since Gerrard left if not before.

Vanb bryceter

I'm very sorry for your loss David. Thanks for your efforts in putting out this in what is a very dark time for our club, but obviously pales in relation to your own sadness,

Graham johnston

Haven't listened for a few days as the result was to depressing so sorry for your loss David. I listened to a podcast Charlie Adam did down south and they asked what Walter Smith was like when he was starting out. Adam told a story of when they went on an end of season game to the US and most of the boys had been out for a beer in the few days before they played Galaxy (which I think Rangers won) . After the game Walter went through Adam as he'd had a right stinker. He was hungover and it was hot eg and Adam just turned around and said it was "just a friendly " Walter then practically pinned him to the wall and said this club doesn't play friendlies and u have to win no matter what. Then told him he could fucking leave in the summer if he couldn't get that in to his head. Adam said he always played to win every game after that even a 5 a side because Walter had drummed that in to him at an end of season game with nothing on it. Even when we lost to Berwick in the 60s my dad said that some players never played for the club again as a result. So they're the standards of this club and either accept it or fuck off. There has to be a consequence to us losing to Queens park otherwise its not a massive deal and will happen again in a few years time.

Gareth Williams

I’ve been trying to ignore the result from Sunday to let the dust settle. I actually burst out laughing when we got beaten, totally surreal, but not unexpected which is worrying in itself that I feel like that. Now I’m starting to get annoyed. I’ve been on the fence with PC and been flitting between sack/back all season. NO Rangers manager should survive this, he should be gone, but for some reason they are holding on to him. Caretaker for me, then appointment in the Summer, get him TF.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks David 💯 agree with your view on all this , the board are wrong to not too have any correspondence with the fan base seems they are hiding but ultimately letting the fans down imo .

Jim Milne

Clement had my support because of some of the performances since the Spurs game, and I thought long term patience was needed. Igamane, Raskin's performances, Jefté etc looking like sellable assets. We as a club cannot let him manage after the loss to Queens Park. IMO it's the greatest loss in our history and at 46 definitely my lifetime. Since 2012 we've all clung to the standards we all believe OUR club should hold dearly, and continuing to even let him manage the Europa games for me goes against those standards we all have for Rangers. Big Eck got the Villareal games after a Treble and league titles, Clement's history doesn't deserve the patience being allowed. The fact there has been no public vote of confidence by Patrick Stewart suggests (rather hope)to me there might be negotiations behind the scenes but if he's in the dugout Sunday it's a signal to me that the board is subconsciously telling fans 2nd place is okay, cup shocks happen and are acceptable and we've trimmed the wage bill. If they don't let him go I'd go as far to say not only is Clement's position untenable but so is the board's. If they can't put up any longer then seek immediate investment or let Dave King back in. For everyone in conversed with on here since Christmas, you were right. The Humble pie I'm eating, like Clement is past it's sell by date.

Graham johnston

That was a more costly defeat but I'd blame the board more than the manager for that one..the whole fuck up with the ground eg and lack of investment just put a negative atmosphere around the club. This defeat however is on the manager and he has no excuse worth considering

Colin Mathie

How the f does old codger Keevins know how much money Clement is on, a**ehole that he is.

Bryan Watson

I don't think he should be given them because 1) its only a matter of time until we go out we are not winning it 2) we have sacked one of our most successful European managers of the modern era for being pish domestically and he was much better than Phil in Europe + better domestically. You are right we can't keep sacking managers but the only way to change that is appointing the right one with the right structure behind him to facilitate success. No point letting this slide futher, we have not progressed at all before he took over we were a decent European side who massively underperform domestically and we are still a decent European side who underperform domestically, if anything we are worse now. It would be arrogant and foolish to let this go on. I will give the club credit the one thing they do is protect themselves relatively well for this scenario by putting performance points / severance milestones in the contract to avoid big payouts and the rolling contract situation you speak about. No manager is going to argue with it either because what manager backs themselves to get sacked?

John leitch

He has stuck rigidly to his one set system 4 3 3 or a slight variation When we have changed up to a more attacking 4 4 2 it has worked but he doesn’t stick with it We don’t have a consistent pattern of play

James McSween

Any Rangers fan still making excuses for Clement are as bad as the board. Need to get back to our Scottish roots and stop with these foreigners that don’t get the club.

Hendi

We've no idea what's included in his extension tbf, it was a great idea if it reduced the compensation he is due in the event of being sacked.

John Johnston

Time for him to go asap forget keeping him for Europe. Clear the decks starting now.

Andrew Mathieson

Completely agree Davie. Scunnered, sick and tired.

Douglas Innes

Getting an interim coach/manager is like putting a sticky plaster on a broken arm in my opinion , I'm not saying no change ever I think it's more beneficial to stick with Clement until the Europa League is finished then see where we're at

David P

You summed up my own thoughts on the situation better than I ever could Davie. On the last point about keeping PC for Europe, I'm embarrassed that he's still in post. That result at the weekend has absolutely finished him, or at least it should have.

Jason Allan

I’m tired of the constant failures on the pitch. I’m tired of hearing about the player trading model, when a player shows some signs of form. How about a winning and successful team first? The club no longer talks about winning. The culture is one of failure and acceptance.

David P

The reality is our success in Europe and abject failure domestically in recent years has actually had a pretty negative affect on us financially. Our rivals are getting straight into the Champions League off our European exploits where as we are lucky if we qualify for it.

Robert White

Im scunnered. Clement doesnt get it domestically. Sunday was a cup tie and QP played like it. Our usual non passionate, one paced borefest team led by the SAME guy on the pitch thru all the decades failures... they dont get it either. Im not happy with the status quo. If we keep Clement, its not my Rangers and ill retire my season ticket.

Gordon Millar

Well done David you managed to articulate my thoughts very well....our standards have dropped, I too am fed up feeling the highs of Europe whilst knowing our players will fail to turn up for their work in our domestic fixtures and lastly I'm particularly fed up that clever successful business people have failed to run the club the way that they run their business empires........we have to target and strive to win 34 to 35 league games every season as a priority and do our best in cup competitions......that's what's required as a start, any new manager has to be appraised of this target before he accepts the job!

Graham Leck

Sorry for your loss, best wishes to you and your family. I agree about being tired about our great club just bumbling along the path of mediocrity.

Heart and Hand

I always say - I’m biased but it’s true - that you get the truest reflection of Rangers fans views on here because the listeners encompass every type of Bear. Home and awayers, ST holders, overseas bears, men, women, kids. If H&H listeners are saying something almost uniformly, it’s not something the club can dismiss. He’s done.

Alastair McGeoch

Totally agree on Clement, he absolutely does not understand how bad that result is and it proves he should be removed from the post. Tavernier also needs to leave at end of the season. A Captain who has routinely shown he can’t lead his team over the line whilst continually talking about understanding Rangers and needing to learn is emblematic of the low standards that have taken root at Rangers. We have zero leadership on the pitch and the first thing any new manager addresses needs to be that.

James

I can’t help but feel he will get until we go out of Europe. The board will maybe argue what is the point of replacing him with someone else when domestically the season is done, and therefore keeping him as he has done well in Europe might be the best course. If we replace him with a caretaker they may well bomb us out of Europe immediately. (As may PC of course). Anyway, I could be wrong, just seems logical that’s what they are thinking.

Stephen

Wouldn’t believe anything Keevins says. I remember when that lot brought in Postecoglu, he predicted they would finish 4th. He just does that stuff to get people angry enough to phone up.

Andy Gray

It’s not about the money for winning the Scottish Cup, it’s about the winning the actual trophy and what that represents for the players and club moving forward. Without any tangible evidence of success we cannot expect the club to get back where we want it to be. Yes the Europa runs are great and so are the financial rewards it brings but based on what’s happened this season most fans are now not even willing to accept that as a consolation for our continued domestic failings.

Douglas Innes

Which " Scottish " manager do you feel will take us forward domestically and in Europe because we can't afford to dismiss either , just a question given most Scottish managers have done nothing of note in Europe and we can't ignore the Money Europe brings

Stephen

Could be. Maybe they are happy to let him manage the European games while they are trying to get the right guy in to replace him. Would be tough to let a caretaker do the European game as you say. (Steven Davis last season) They might even be taking it a step further and looking at his record against mid level European teams in a view to the qualifiers at the start of next season.

Stewart Robertson

Clement lost me after the Dundee game last season. Not for his usual gaslighting pish, but because Dujon Sterling showed him up. Big Dujon looked like a man who knew he’d just lost the chance of a winner’s medal, and admitted “We’ve been shit”. Clement, rather than agree, or temper what he said, instead criticised Dujon, saying he was naive and young. No, Dujon felt what WE felt.

Graham Sinclair Walker

sorry to spoil the H and H consensus but too many fans seem to consider Europe a luxury when it is essential. How else do we finance a the building of a successful domestic team? Keep waiting for a Blue Knight? Few people fancied us in the EL in 2022. We have proved we can go far in this competition and Clement deserves credit for what we've done in it. Beyond this season I wouldn't complain if we part company but right now it makes no sense - it would only invite chaos and ruin whatever chance in EL we might still have.

David Kiltie

The way the filth looked in Postecoglou’s early weeks, that prediction didn’t seem that wild! What followed showed how quickly things can change.

David Kiltie

The knee jerk reaction to Berwick meant our 2 misfiring strikers didn’t play again for Rangers. That came back to bite a few months later when we had to play a defender as our number 9. Sunday’s result will haunt us for years but there will be another Scottish Cup to challenge for next season.

David Kiltie

Agree, Angela. We will pay for Cameron whatever the tribunal stipulates, unless the clubs can agree a deal. Barron’s transfer was bound to go to a tribunal since the Sheep’s hierarchy had to be seen to be difficult to deal with Rangers, to pander to their fanbase. Perhaps Dundee as a club will act differently. Dundee would reasonably have demanded a significant premium to do a deal in January. To lose a key player for the last 3rd of the season is not a minor matter. Lyall’s 2 goals on Saturday shows he clearly is still fully committed.

David Kiltie

You quoted Boyd’s claim that domestic success is the be all and end all. The present day is the inversion of the 90s experience. There was no way I could be blasé about humiliations by the likes of Juventus, Ajax, Grasshoppers and AEK. The press made much of our failures in Europe (Celtic in recent years seem to have got off rather lightly in that respect - funny that!). We were open to the put down that we were only successful against poor opposition in Scotland but were found out against any decent level of opponent.

David Tod

The problem isn’t that Clement doesn’t know what the result means but that the custodians of the club don’t know.

Stewart Robertson

Agreed. It’s also a non toxic atmosphere on this platform. The silent majority can find its voice here - and we’re all saying the same thing…….”It’s time up”.

Heart and Hand

Nobody considers it a bonus. It's essential. Need group stage football every year. But Rangers cannot be winning 3 trophies in 10 years. We NEED domestic success, it's the ethos, history and lifeblood of the club. Whether you think it's parochial - and you may be right, it's another debate - it doesn't alter the reality. Rangers are doing as well in Europe in the last 5 years as we have in my lifetime yet the fans are mutinous, many considering stopping going.

Graeme McLeod

European group stage football is essential. Getting to the last 16 of the Europa League every season is not, however, success or a substitute for winning trophies. And there's nothing about this manager or those in charge of recruitment that suggests they can or will build a successful domestic side - they don't understand our domestic game.

Graeme McLeod

Going by that logic, does the league really matter? Don't get much prize money or TV income for it. A good run in Europe dwarves it.

Graeme McLeod

"....and some money would go to the club." I'd rather the women's team was run completely separate from the club and any money currently being spent on it was spent elsewhere.

Angela Frater

However.... I do think it is another thing that proves the manager doesn't "get it" here. His continual talk about finances shoes he doesn't understand how much that just plays into the hands of the other mob and it is a continual source of embarrassment for us. He doesn't get us, doesn't get the club, doesn't understand the league. There is just too much now with him. He needs to go.

Hendi

Exactly, if he doesn't understand it, then it's those above who are responsible for setting expectations. Not guys like Alex Rae.

Alastair McGeoch

Agree, Sadly Gerrard brought the standards himself and he pushed the board and they responded until we won the league. Gerrard pushed them to invest to go to next level and they refused/couldnt (and Gerrard failed to qualify for Champions League) and he left. I think the standards left when he did and it’s been a steady decline since. Gio was a penalty kick away from a European trophy, qualified for Champions league, won a trophy (beating Celtic on the way) and yet wasn’t good enough in the league yet we have Clement acting like he’s the adult in the room and fans are too emotional. If Clement doesn’t understand the magnitude of this result he soon will. Our season is now (barring 2 games) a set of glorified friendlies. If you can’t win a set of friendlies consistently, let’s see how emotional the fans get!

Granters

It’s not just Clement who doesn’t get it. We have a pile of players who don’t get what is required at Rangers. They turn it on for games they fancy - games they think are high profile and glamorous and where they’ll get to show off to a big audience. Then they think they can coast and dial it in against less glamorous opposition. They can’t. They’re not good enough to do that, which is why we drop points and lose games against jobbers. We badly need an on-field leader (or better still leaders plural) in the Gough / Weir / Brown mould and have done for ages. It needn’t cost a lot of money. 2 of those names didn’t. But you need the right characters in the dressing room who understand the club and the demands of Scottish football and we don’t have them.

Bryan Watson

I don't think anybody thinks a temp coach fixes it, we'd still be guff. For me, its a question of principle. If Phillipe Clement is allowed to continue in the dugout then the club are admitting that on some level, what happened on Sunday, within the context of this season and within the context of our domestic performances post 55, is acceptable and tolerable. If that is true then for me that is fundementally against everything that Rangers is. See if we were miles top of the league, beaten Celtic a few times, won the league cup and flying in Europe, folk would still want him gone for that because it is unacceptable on every level. If we don't sack him, I think it acts as an official signal from our board that they have given up on Rangers being a dominant force that strives to be the best in everything we do and that we are now officially no more than a decent Europa League side (can't say we are elite in it because we haven't won it and we are not regularly in the semis / final) who will at most win the odd domestic cup or old firm game every 18 months to 2 years. That absolutely mortifies me.

Bryan Watson

I think after the Connor Barron situation where Aberdeen have got quite a significantly good deal for a player leaving on a Bosman, you'll find that most Scottish Clubs will not accept low ball offers from other Scottush clubs to get their players in January because they are likely to get a better deal from the Tribunal. Its a good move for us not making bad financial moves out of impatience and its a good move for Dundee because they'll probs get more from a Tribunal than anything we were willing to give them in January.

Bryan Watson

We are now not even guaranteed Europa League football. We will go into Q2 of UCL qualifiers I believe we need to win that to be guaranteed Europa.

Scott Watson

There may be something of a sample bias - those who are more patient may keep quiet because they know lots of people don't want to hear it and why swim against the tide and cop the sort of abuse Strider gets I can't see any way we line up for the first game of next season with Clement in charge though - even if we do win every game for the rest of the season (and obviously there's no evidence to think we will get anywhere near that)

Granters

Agree with this. Tav has shown personal character before - scoring high pressure goals at big moments - but i’ve never been convinced by him as a leader. We badly need a Gough / Weir / Brown type on the field and in the dressing room. Ideally more than 1. We have done for ages.

James McSween

Doesn’t really need to be Scottish but British. Needs to know Scottish football and what it takes. Start treating the jobber teams like jobbers. If we don’t starting winning this league soon then the Tims will be winning 10 plus. Starting winning leagues and Europe and PTM will all fall into place.

Heart and Hand

If you like. Europe is and should be the foundation upon which domestic success is built. At the moment though we've got a house with a foundation and nothing else and you can't live in that.

Angela Frater

My understanding is that anything we would pay in Jan would be in addition to any tribunal payment? I could be wrong on that though.

Max Todd

Ultimately, RFC needs to escape the SPFL goldfish bowl. We could win the Scottish title 25 years in a row and nobody outside Scotland notices or cares. However, get to the later stages of a European competition and everybody suddenly notices us. Only with a future change of league system will proper investment flow to Rangers and we can then properly compete. The new UEFA league format is a step in the right direction and gives me hope.
