Silence isn’t acceptable. A senior statement gives us something tangible to respond to, to signal we are being heard. Part of leadership is standing up and taking heat when it’s bad, soaking up the frustrations while having the steel to make the hard decisions quietly behind the scenes. Silence reeks of cowardice and that is the last thing we need.

Alan Weir

For me, Andy reflects a lot of the feelings of older Bears who have seen plenty ups and downs, and doesn’t feel the need to react like a reactionary nutcase on a game by game basis. Dare I say it, he realises there’s a bit more to life than football, and a bit more to supporting Rangers than every individual result. Of course we’d like to hump that mob every time, but there’s plenty of satisfaction in seeing new players, surprises in Europe and promise when it comes; all of that comes as a package with the total shite we witnessed on Sunday.

Stephen

Agreed. It drives me mad seeing people saying this is the lowest they have ever felt as a Rangers fan. My personal low was when we got beat by Raith Rovers in the cup at Ibrox in 2015. Go and have a look at that line up if you this is bad. Think of some of the things has been achieved since that day. People need to start looking for what ever positives we can find or they may as well go and do something else every weekend

Jim McCutcheon

Think it's easy for Patrick Stewart to see the state of the club and a manager that isn't suitable for the spl staying Silent isn't going to improve his standing with the fans imo , it's a huge job but it must be tackled asap

Alan Weir

Once you’ve watched both Davie Cooper and Gregor Stevens at Ibrox, you realise your footballing life will be one of ups and downs 😁

David Scott

The board staying silent is a slap in the face for the supporters, he cant be kept on the basis of the european results alone, its clear he isn’t right for us if we want to win trophies in Scotland, the rest of the season is glorified friendlies and Ibrox could be deserted if he is kept in the job.

James Kenny

Regarding the reference to the Raith Rovers game a decade ago, we are not comparing apples with apples. We were on the bones of are arse then, coming up through the leagues, dreadful result as it was. We now have a turnover as Andy said of circa 90 million pounds and yet we loose at home to a second league team that has only just turned professional. The attitude of the Rangers squad on Sunday was, quite frankly, a disgrace. Just turn up and play around the horseshoe, as they did against the Highland league outfit in the previous round waiting for their legsl to give out. Turgid, turgid football from a bunch of over paid charlatans who, quite frankly, don't give a toss as long as the payroll keeps going. I can't identify with this team and I go back to the late 1950's.

David Innes

We’ve dropped points against every team in the league this season except for Ross County and St Johnstone. His tactics and management style aren’t suited to Scottish football and that’s not going to change. He has to go asap

Mr J K Murray

Where have all the lions gone, all we have is abandoned whelps,

Nikky Cairney

Disagree on a number of things guys. First of all a manager who is 13 points behind in February, lost one cup final and loses at home to Queens Park at home should be sacked. No nonsense about letting him see out the season. It’s unacceptable, he should’ve gone months ago. Talking about bringing a caretaker in who could do well and we would maybe want him to get the job. Again nonsense. Bring in someone who would go onto a new managers staff. Most clubs across Europe have guys in and around the first team who stay even when a manager and his staff leave. If the plan as suggested that Clement is going the end of the season then tell us. This silence isn’t acceptable and it shows zero leadership. Had hopes for Stewart when he came in but he’s already losing the trust of the fan base. If on the other hand Clement is staying then it should be business as usual from the club on social media etc. Disagree with Cammy saying they can’t post because of the responses. I’m sorry but if you lose to Queens Park at home then you put your big boy pants on and take it. It’s going to be even worse if the first post is Clement sitting at a press conference waffling on about having the most shots in a game this season. The king of the excuses might have provided the worst season I’ve had following Rangers (lower leagues aside) with his turgid football. He’s left me hating watching us play.

Stephen

On that day did you think the club would be in the Europa league final 7 years later? Things can change. The boardroom situation was much worse then than it is now too.

JimGLW

I'm honestly astounded that anyone can still fall for Bisgrove. But we are a support who consistently fall for con men.

C. J

Our bread and butter is the product on the pitch, and we seem absolutely intent on hiring managers that play outdated, counter-attacking football from a dead age. We need control, we need dominance and honestly, it's getting embarrassing at this point how long it has taken us to see any semblance of control on the park. We've been a shambles since 55 & this leadership group are going to lose an entire generation of fans.

Hendi

Good to hear discussion that shows the willingness and ability to comprehend and dissect the complexities of a situation. The perma outraged will soon find out that there are no simple solutions to complex problems. The manager might need to go but bringing someone new in isn't going to be all that's needed to reverse this.

Scott Watson

For me, it'll take something "special" to get lower than a Rangers manager standing in a bush remonstrating with fans

Scott Watson

Patrick Stewart made it clear where he stood in January Rangers is an environment of perpetual failure - changing managers hasn't helped, changing players hasn't helped Putting good managers into no-win situations will not help either - look at Amorim Fixing the structures and environment is what will help This also means, and nobody with sense would make themselves a target by spelling it out, that the decision makers of the club need to get the fans used to the idea that they are not going to get instant gratification This is exactly what Andy is getting at - a sacking makes us feel better briefly but doesn't fix any of our issues Remember the last time we appointed a caretaker we immediately had one of our worst European results post Pedro

KennyY

If we get rid of Clement we will be right back here at the same time next year given our fanbase have zero patience unless we find a needle in a haystack in a manager that can provide the ordinary budget players in our squad with a self confidence that they can win the league. The board won’t sack the manager imo because they as a collective are well aware that they have contributed hugely to this shitshow by not giving the manager the level and depth of playing squad to do his job effectively. In addition neither the board or Clement will be conceding that the league is done at this stage despite the reality of the situation.

David MacT

There’s far too much emphasis placed on social media nowadays. It means absolutely nothing in the real world yet so many believe what they read on Twitter or cesspits like FF are how the whole fanbase feel. The constant rage and thirst for a pound of flesh is just pathetic as none of them take one second to understand where the club is and what changes we’re trying to make that’ll benefit us in the long run.

Andy McGowan

Bisgrove as commercial director was an undeniable success - to say otherwise is to not apply balance. As a CEO he wasn't here long enough to see how good/bad/indifferent he was, but the Copland debacle would have been wholly against him and probably unsurvivable. As for Australia tour match, some of the most vociferous critics of it simultaneously tell us we should be allowed to directly give Celtic £50 for being allowed back in to Parkhead as an away supporter, and that they should have the broomloan again - the whole thing was irrational and hypocrtitical.

James McSween

He should have been sacked weeks ago. We should already have a number of managers on a short list to take over. Kopprn should always be forward planning with a view to the way he wants us to play. Clement lost the squad months ago. They do not like or trust his tactics. The longer he’s in charge the worse we will get.

David MacT

In fairness they trust his tactics in Europe and, as shown in the last 2 games, against Celtic. You take the emotion out of it you can see why the board are keeping him. He’s making the club money by already getting to the last 16 in the Europa League. Has taken players bought on the cheap, Igamane, Jefte and Raskin, and developing them into players that will be sold for, hopefully, tens of millions. Right now what is needed to catch Celtic in the future is money. In the summer just passed our Centre Back cost £1.5mil, theirs cost £6mil. Our biggest fee was £4mil on Dio, theirs was £11mil on Engels. They are spending, at least, 3 times what we are and adding to an already settled and expensively assembled squad. Having a manager that can develop players like Igamane and Jefte to attempt to bridge the financial gap will benefit the club in the long run. The board will see the short term pain of this season as worth it.

Iain Mitchell

Hell of a week for Cammy to be standing in, god bless you sir.

James McSween

The majority of our squad and physically and mentally weak to play in the SPFL It’s not rocket science to find a way to beat the jobbers in our league. Europe tdd as he’s care if it’s self. We need to start winning league and that in turn will help the PTM Players values don’t really matter. It’s about how they perform and if they have the right mentality and desire. A new manager who plays attacking football would get more out of this squad. I don’t think Clement has improved any of his signings or anyone in the squad previously.

Stephen

Indeed. People need to get off social media if it makes them so angry. Most interactions on twitter are people who are raging at something. Not even just football.

Ryan Stewart

I said after the Dundee game that I had made my peace with the fact that Clement was here until the summer. Think Andy is correct, wouldn’t stun me if he either leaves or we hear he will be leaving around March/April time. I don’t believe even the people running Rangers are stupid enough to believe that we can go into next season with him as manager Also, as someone who has been sat on the waiting list since MyGers began I find the narrative that people won’t renew to be massively over blown. I’ve heard the same talk pretty much every year and I’ve still not had a sniff

Jamiedfa

I get what Andy is saying but we have had nearly three years of this dross on and off the pitch, how can we trust the club as a whole to make things better?

Scott Watson

That's an important question - there have been a dizzying array of bad and costly decisions One answer would be - we've a new CEO and chairman, they haven't made any of those decisions and only time will tell if they are going to do better than their predecessors

Helena Duncan

Andy always makes me feel better

Graham Roy

I hope you’re correct Cammy but I am not confident based on the actions of the board.

Graham Miller

Great perspective from Andy and hard to disagree. Players own the fans and manager a performance on Sunday

Tamus

Our captain is weaker than diluted water. I can't wait til he f*cks off A Wigan reserve that we've made a multi millionaire for very little back in return Obviously we are disappointed

JimGLW

Not sure wanting to have an away support in the old firms is the same as agreeing to play second fiddle to Celtic in an Australian friendly mate

Andy McGowan

Because the protest was framed in the context of wanting no association with them, or holding what was effectively a joint venture, or them profiting from our participation.

Stewart Robertson

Andy MacGowan nailed it. This is a GENERATIONAL result. We’ll still be referring back to this result in 30 years, as a low water mark.

Stewart Robertson

We did the same with Man Utd at Murrayfield. It was THEIR friendly. We were the guest team - that’s why there was all the Man U music and giant badge covering the centre circle. I hate Celtic - but sometimes you have to dance with the Devil.

JimGLW

Comparing Man Utd to them and being comfortable with rangers being second in both instances is about as grim as it gets. Proper small time thinking which sums up the mentality at the club tbh

Stewart Robertson

In the early 80s we always fancied ourselves to lift a cup. We also feel we had the god given right to win the league every other season. I think the 9 in a Row years spoiled us, and we got drunk on success. Yes I want to win. Yes I like shiny things, but I don’t immediately want to burn everything to the ground when things aren’t going right.

Graham McCulloch

Thank goodness for Andy making things seem right again!

Rose Mcloughlin

Thanks guys....as you said now I am prepairing to watch the game on sunday..still a bit shell shocked ...but we can no more walk away than stop breathing....your talk made me feel a bit better thanks.

Stephen Fraser

Enjoyed that, lads. Andy mentioned having that pride in being a supporter, which resonates with me, and I'm sure it would with an overwhelming majority of us. It's absolutely mental that the season is already done, but I'd hope we can reduce the points gap, and maybe progress at least one more round in the EL. Ultimately, I think some of the takes Clement has had on some of our games has cost him in the eyes of most of the support. I absolutely loved the guy when he came in, but all I've seen and heard since last March is levels of defiance that shows him up as being completely detached from it all. If he wins us the EL then I'll maybe ease up a bit.

Alastair McGeoch

Great Pod. Let’s give Stewart the time to set the direction for the club off the park so that we can identify a manager that fits with that direction. Clement; he’s done but he’ll staying in place until we can make the (hopefully) inspiring appointment that signals that Queens Park was rock bottom. As for expecting the players to show a reaction….they won’t. Enough of those players led by our Captain have chucked semi finals, finals and big league games and come back and done it again and again. We might get a reaction, we might not. It doesn’t matter as we all know with this manager, Captain and squad can’t put a run of more than 3 or 4 games together before chucking it.

Scott

Andy’s absolutely spot on here.
