Rangers 0-2 St Mirren

Rangers were soundly beaten at Ibrox by St Mirren to provide another nail in the coffin of Philippe Clement’s reign.

Comments

John Smith

I’m not watching another game until he’s away. Can’t be bothered with this anymore

chris smith

Absolutely disgraceful. Fcuk staying with the plan. Get him binned now!

James Cameron

Three clear weeks and the three worst performances of the season. I like Clement but that's it for him now.

Craig Scobbie

Atrocious. He's got to go tonight!

Alan Weir

Rice, Curtis and one or two other young players should, correctly, be looking at their summer options. Clement gives the green light to Tav and Dessers week after week, and replaces them with Lawrence and Bajrami when - surprise, surprise - things go tits up. When does the Belgian Charlie Caroli expect to see the youngsters improve and develop into first team players? If they’re not good enough, we get rid, but they’ve been treated abysmally - worse than players who barely want to be here (another masterclass from Hagi today) -and we have no idea what they could achieve. And Nsiala’s shocker today, at least, hopefully, will help him learn from mistakes. Better than sat on the bench watching a bunch of hopeless journeymen.

Iain McKay

Takeover or not he has to go. Bullied is the only word to describe our performance today.

Alan Weir

I like beans on toast, but I wouldn’t have them in charge at Ibrox. On second thoughts…

Gareth Williams

Hi David, Not long home myself , surely this is the end for him? The team from the start didn’t look organised or interested. My feeling is we need to replace him with a figurehead manager. For me, David Moyes or Steven Gerrard. Not sure we can survive another foreign coach gamble. The way I’m feeling: pfffffft! Another year gone !!!😩🤯

Rona Bluebell

Someone somewhere needs to step in and say enough is enough and draw a firm line under this.

Vanb bryceter

Pod title says it all really. Maybe Clement and the pope will go on the same day. They are both hanging it out

George Higgins

I stopped going a month ago and I will not be back until he is gone.

John Jamieson

Honestly feel if we don’t get this take over we are slowly going to lose any resemblance of the rangers we know the club is dead in the water at the moment no energy or belief anywhere from within

G Calder

I was probably the last fan to give up on PC.. but today i have . Please just go Phil .

ali t

Shouldn't excuse the players.....tactics are poor but players are complicit and safe again relying on the hopeful "somebody" will do something. You could clear the majority of players out...we need a CM who bosses a game in a Fergiesque style.

Chris Scott

Moyes is currently doing well at Everton, we missed that boat and should have went for him when PC should have been bagged in August.

Ewan Taylor

No argument for him to stay now at all.

Glyn Davies

Seriously considering not going to the Fenerbache game! If these cowards & that clueless Belgian fud can't make the effort domestically than they do not deserve our energy & emotion when they "might decide" to make the effort in Europe 😡😡😡

Rose Mcloughlin

First time since ive followed Rangers over 60yrs I wanted to leave early so predictable so boring...even the Union Bears downed tools and quite rightly....I never want to see or hear Clement again he needs to go...my e mail came in for the euro game its going in the trash bin...I will not show this Manager anymore support....

Norm

Spineless from back to front.

Alan Riddell

Players are as much to blame as Clement and this is unacceptable shite. Guess we need to sit and wait for him to get his jotters once we go out against fenerbache.

Sean Heggie

What annoys me is the inevitable albeit often temporary resurgence that follows after a managerial change/caretaker, which shows these professionals are capable of something. That being said, if a workplace becomes so toxic and incompetent, you're going to be less inclined to work. But still, it's a simple game and work ethic is a rule

That UFO Podcast

Awful stuff. Team looked like they had chucked it today. I’ll say fair enough to the four who stayed on field at the end to take the abuse. Butland encouraged them to stay on. Butland, Kelly, Danilo & Dessers

Scott Corral

The manager is a fraud and the players are wage thieves. The big boy falling over his feet and rolling about like he’d been shot was up there with the cringiest this season and there’s a catalogue of them.

Pete

If he won't step down and we wont sack him, can we put him on gardening leave until new owners come in and stick the assistant manager in charge for now? We need to do something as this can't continue.

Roderick Boyle

David , you have said many times that players get the manager the sack , well , you are 100% correct if it happens now for they are to blame , can’t pass to a team mate , can’t keep the ball down when shooting , just two examples . The manager isn’t blameless but the charlatans on the park should never be allowed to pull on a Rangers jersey and receive exorbitant wages that they don’t deserve . Your thoughts please .

Gordon Millar

We are finding new levels of rock bottom, utterly disgraceful for both the manager, his team and the team on the park.....

Colin Carstairs

A whole week to serve up that dross today is a total embarrassment to the club as a whole. St Mirren throughly deserved today’s victory had two chances took both without any reaction. Tells a story about how our season had gone.. From the Hampden debacle to being humped by Qp in the cup. Spineless cowards on the park… Spineless cowards off it. Get them gone.

Gary B

How much more of this have got to put up with?

David P

Clement is now a man waiting for his pay off, he's completely chucked it. Easy win for the new ownership to show him the door when they come in.

Doogz

He should have been gone long ago, the QP result should have ended him, today’s gutless show should make Patrick Stewart’s job easy. Get it done no ifs no buts get him and his useless coaches gone.

David Innes

This team is not going to beat Fenerbache. Sack him now

Bryan Watson

In the long term, the takeover has the potential to completely transform this club and that is something that excites us all. In the immediate short term however, this has to stop. Season is done but we have a minimum of 13 games and we look totally unprofessional. Manager won't be here next season, we know it and so does he, lets not delay the inevitable. Kevin Thomson and/or Steven Davis till the end of the season for me.

Kirk Guthrie

Yeah PC should go, but I really don't understand how any of these players consider themselves professional athletes. I've said it before, but if I turned up to work week after week and put in zero effort like that I'd get fired. And I make in 6 months what some of these guys get in a week. Honestly I think I'm done for this season.

Billy Forrester

Didn’t go today as was my wife’s birthday, thank god. Absolutely disgusting and yes clement takes the blame and is a dead man walking but them players are a disgrace, not an ounce of balls between them. I actually hate this team

BlueJay

It needs to be any interim until the takeover. Just pray it isnt Jesse Marsch being unveiled as new permanent head coach

Martin Davies

The players have no sharpness and no intensity. Epitomised at the start of both halves with Butland's lackadaisical passing out. They are absolutely devoid of any leadership. Nsiala is badly at fault but let's face it, Propper can't give him the same education that Weir gave to Wilson. The rest of the team is badly malfunctioning.

Stewart Robertson

Was thinking the same thought. I feel like a chump, because I was one of the last to turn. He’s lost everyone now.

Stewart Robertson

I am genuinely thinking about digging out my red and black RST top and scarf.

Craig McWhinnie

It should see the end but unfortunately I’d be more surprised if it is the end

G Calder

I could just about make an argument on his behalf why he is the right man . I can no longer do that . My fear is NO manager could do any better with that team of losers .

Colin Mathie

Queens Pk was rock bottom, this is just the way we are, and will continue to be for as long as hes still in the job.

Gareth Williams

Tbf he’s hardly a figurehead. I do think need a British guy to at least guide us out of this shite. No sure who that may be though.🤷

Andy MacArthur

We all know the board can’t make a long term replacement wheh they are about to sell up. Bring in big Eck as a caretaker till the end of the season. He knows the club and is an experienced pair of hands. Get PC out immediately, this can’t go only longer. Better managers have been sacked for less.

Simon Botterill

No intensity. That comes from the board, the manager and the captain. All not fit for purpose for Rangers in Scotland, end of story.

Brian Rae

Watching Declan John cruise past Tav and another of our players in the 80th minute and leave them for dead was the last straw for me. The manager's done but this squad of players are nowhere near good enough.

keith wright

I’m just scunnered! I didn’t even get excited when I saw Celtic had lost. 😞

Hamish Rankin

PC is a small problem. Sack him, these wanks that call themselves footballers will turn into prime Barcelona for the end of the season and we’ll get all excited and the same dross will happen next season. These 49ers need to come in and drop kick out most of this diabolical board. There’s issues in every corner of the club

Linda Mackay

We got a wee boost with the news of the potential takeover only for this manager and players to kick us in the stomach yet again. How the players can look themselves in the mirror after that is beyond me but they don’t seem to care. I cannot bear to watch or listen to any of them and have never felt as much anger and disgust towards a group of Rangers players ever.

mark wyper

If Killie beat us on Wednesday I can only imagine what next Saturday will be like at Ibrox

Gordon Millar

Good shout on big Eck if he still feels capable of taking on this role, he knows what it's about and would be a good short term fix with Kevin Thomson as an assistant.......we need change, the players( who are also culpable, need a change).let's hope common sense prevails!

Don Maclean

I was resigned to the fact a few weeks back that Clement was here until the end of the season and understood the reasoning in giving him the remaining European fixtures especially after the developments this week. However this has got to be time up surely….. I don’t see how Patrick Stewart could view the realistic possibility of further dropped points against Killie and Motherwell under Clement in any way acceptable preparation for the Fenerbahce tie. The players aren’t playing for him, he needs to be removed from the equation. If they want to retain some form of continuity then appoint the new assistant manager in the interim before things get worse.

stefan strzelecki

The manager has been out of his depth from the opening game of the season. The board must act. At the rate clement is damaging the club , the 49 group may be required , to complete a modified appraisal of the final takeover fees. This might bang the heads of the board , to do the honourable thing. Further intransigence helps nobody.

Alan Ferguson

Dessers, Butland, Propper, Nsiala, Danilo, Kelly, Lawrence, Rice were the only players who were brave enough to stay on park after match to applaud the fans. They took pelters whilst the rest of their ‘mates’ left them to face the music for them…..including Tav, posted missing just like he usually is when it matters - absolute rat of a captain, should be booted out of hall of fame

Dougie McAllister

I was definitely in the camp to give PC the run in the Europa league but after today no... the players have downed tools.... I really hate that phrase but it really looked like that today.....

Hoggy

He’s been a dead man walking with the fans for ages. When the players down tools, your time is up. End this.

Scott Stewart

Back to back home defeats !! Rangers Standards Where have they gone. Players and managers chucked it. Time for a change months overdue !!

Doogz

We cannot wait until takeover is complete, needs done tonight.

CJT

The takeover stuff this week made a lot of things make sense, particularly the support for the manager coming from a desire to give the new regime a free hand there. However, any choice around this issue is gone now. Players have clearly given up on PC and from the post match interview with him he clearly knows his time is up as well. Caretaker now the only viable option. Big Eck a good shout if he’d take it. Other than that? To be honest hard to see anyone doing worse. Really hoping today is a watershed moment.

C. J

Tavernier is an absolute abject failure as a captain and has presided over the most heartless squads we have ever seen. He is done & has been done since Seville.

Tommy

You may say enough is enough, but that’s not the case for those making decisions. They clearly don’t get it. Get him on garden leave, just get him out of the club now

Douglas Innes

That's it I'm done now as i was in the camp " he'll be here at the start of next season , he really can't be is it too much to find players that actually " give a f*ck " , after they dropped points to hibs earlier you'd have thought the players would've been at it from the get go ...... worryingly they weren't, why ?

Graeme Duncan

Thanks David. I believe there’s nothing more to say about what needs to be done as it’s as clear as can be and has been for a while IMO. But like you say I don’t know if the men making decisions will see him gone. Forza Bears 🔴⚪️🔵

Matthew gribbin

Board ? Another manger won't win us a title

Steve Clark

I have seen a lot of garbage served up by rangers in 50+ years of following but today I don’t think i have ever seen an opposing goalkeeper.hardly having to make a single save.that was completely unacceptable today

Stace1ofthePeople

Wow this is grim. I knew we were going to have blips but didn't believe we would regress so much in such a short space of time. Could go round in circles naming and shaming manager and players. I think we are desperately needing this takeover and have to hope its gonna fix this absolute shit show. Don't see a manager turning this mess around. Don't have any belief that the players will. Well have a bounce and when the going gets tough theyll shite it. We need another summer window, new manager, new board and new players. Our squad is full of injured, over the hill , not good enough and inexperienced players who show flashes of quality from time to time.

Chris Wight

Having had some time to reflect on the state of play here is how I see things: 1) David is absolutely correct enough is enough, time is up, etc. Nobody on the board or in the support can say he's the right man to take the club forward. I still sympathise with him somewhat regarding the quality of player he has inherited. However, he is simply unable to motivate these players to try a leg, what we saw yesterday was 11 players who don't care, and that is unacceptable. 2) Is anyone else as pissed off as me at the timing of the Fenerbahçe email? Nobody can convince me that that email wasn't planned to be sent out on Monday morning, nobody. But as soon as it's clear THEY are going to get beat at lunchtime it gets fired out to try and skin as many of the support as they can while they are in a good mood. What makes this even worse is I'm sure they expected us to win and close the gap and that might get more people to buy a European ticket. What they never expected however was for us, the fans, to end up completely demoralised by yet another home defeat. I think this shows everyone exactly what the club thinks of us and their attitude towards the money fans are ploughing into the club. They see us as a cash cow and they will do something as petty as that to try and squeeze a few extra quid out of us.

Billy McCormack

Don't know why the board are reluctant to sack him, whether the takeover goes ahead or doesn't, the fans have made up their minds they don't want him here for next season, so get Kevin Thompson in as an interim until end of season, he's already on the books and he's managed a team before.

Alan Thomson

The baldy Belgian had the cheek to criticise Mourinho’s style of play!!!! At least he’s got one!!!!! Get him out!!!!!!

Gary Shaw

My thinking is that they don’t see the point in using money when in 2 months (hopefully) there’s new guys in and they can use their money to get shot of him….It must be the only reason.

Billy McCormack

Good point Gary, something will need to be done but, cause this can't go on, the fans have had enough.

Gary Shaw

It’s a bit like you having sold your house and the new owners move in in June but you still decide to get a new kitchen fitted coz your current one is a mess….But I’m with you, something needs done or hopefully he walks (which just isn’t going to happen)

Hugh Gourley

Looks like he's gone. Who we wanting as caretaker?

David Innes

Kevin Thomson would be the obvious choice for me given he’s already at the club
