Sorry I’ve not been on recently I’m just so disappointed in our team that left me feeling depressed

Stewart Robertson

We wish PC well. He was dealt a bad hand, and I'm sure he'll be a success elsewhere. Knowing our luck, he'll return to knock us out the Champions League.

William Noble

PC was an excellent European manager but he was a poor domestic manager

KennyY

A classy goodbye from big Phil. He was dealt the worst hand of our last 3 managers and did not enjoy the full backing of a majority of our fans throughout his tenure. Badly let down by the board and a bunch of charlatans. I have no doubt that he will go on to be a big success wherever he goes next and wish him all the best.

Stephen

Definitely. He had to go but we are finding out week by week that he was only part of the problem. Sure he will do well in the future.

james whyte

Sounds like a top tune that.

William Noble

Excellent podcast as always David

John Smith

Very classy from Phillipe 👏 Well always have the league cup

Graeme McLeod

Zero sympathy for Phil. He was arrogant when it came to domestic football and the players had stopped listening to him - similar to what happened at Monaco. The job was too big for him.

Been saying since Jan 24 that Dessers and Tav were going to be the hills that Clement died on. Our inability to bring in a striker cost us the league and his (sometimes baffling) formations/subs and reliance on sports science cost him dear. A good man - yes. Decent manager - yes. His own worst enemy - absolutely. Heartbreaking because his Euro run is exceptional.

At your age? 😂 Enjoy! Im soon to be 43 and if I attend 3 nights of anything where I need to leave the house I need a week in bed for recovery.

Douglas Innes

Sympathy for clement in a sense he was sold a pup not his fault it wasn't as described going forward but he still must carry the can in the end ..... although I don't agree with the direction the board has taken at this stage

Iain Mitchell

All 3 nights!? I'm very impressed David and i wish you the best of luck. I'm heading along on Friday 👌

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks David we look forward, whish philippe well for his future career wasn't the right manager for rangers 🤷‍♂️

John leitch

Big Phil carried the can for our boards lack of decision making over the last few years He had to oversea what basically was a downsizing and wage cutting exercise

Colin Mathie

A good man, probably, a decent manager, nope! you don't get sacked from your last 2 jobs if your decent, his own worst enemy, 100% yes.

stuart wood

I dont agree simply by the way he could get a tune out this side in Europe. We'll see where he pops up next but he'll do a job for a less demanding team

Scott Thomson

Tell you what, I wanted Clement away like everyone else. But I took no pleasure when it actually happened, and that statement is classy from him. Wish him all the best 🇬🇧

Calum Downham

Hi David, could we get a light hearted, banter show up if yous get time? Something like the old 101 shows. Preferably one where someone gets the pish ripped out them. Thanks 😃

The meltdown online from the unwashed is absolutely EPIC!! the shit show of a team atm doesn't stop me enjoying it massively.

I’m off to my annual London pilgrimage to the Hold Steady weekender…a nice relief from the footie!

Dave White

I assume the takeover deal is now at the stage where the potentially investors will be receiving hunners of emails from the financial experts in the East End advising them that "sevco n'at".

We need to know more about who will be on the board, because I don’t want to see the Park’s hanging around like a bad smell. Their stewardship has been disastrous for the club, and they need to go. I want to see someone people trust on the new board that we are relatively familiar with, and a strong figurehead all the fans will respect. Clement made more sense than What we have now in my view. He should’ve remained until Europe was done, because ha has a record in European competition as a manager, whereas Ferguson doesn’t even have a record in the second tier of Scottish football. As a manager. That’s an indictment of those appointing him, and while I hope Barry ends the season with a perfect European record, there was little logic in appointing him before this tie had been played. Clement should never have taken the position in the summer, because the task of rebuilding with almost no budget while challenging for the title was simply unsustainable for someone who hadn’t the gravitas with the fans that Gerrard was afforded. He’ll, we even put up with Ally for four years because of his legend status. Some things just aren’t meant to be, but we play a part in that failure as well because of our emotional responses to each situation Football fans are pretty shallow and we’re no different.

I love the Hold Steady weekender. Delivers a big dollop of happiness and joy…my word I need it after this season. Enjoy! 🎊
