On the officiating of the game does anyone else find it surprising that in a game that didn’t really matter we didn’t have Walsh, Robertson, Clancy Connor or Mulvanney as part of the officials / VAR team. Might explain why there was no controversy.

You're right about the 90s destroying them David. When we didn't win 10IAR we were gutted, but applauded our team and thanked them for everything they had done. When we won 55 they damn near rioted and wouldn't let their team leave the ground. They'll never accept a defeat and admit it was fair and deserved.

Our statement wouldn't have been to pander to our ultras. One could say it would have been watered down. We as a club also make statements calling out our own fans behaviour and state we are working hard to identify the culprit. Nothing from them about all the objects thrown. That's justified to them.

You're spot on with your assessment of their support. I lived through the 90's and we rammed it into them back then.....you are also correct in calling out their club for stoking the victim mentality.......I sometimes think it's a deflection tactics after an OF defeat and their support by and large laps it up.......and also echo that in a game that won't change anything, we see a less controversial refereeing appointment......

My old man said for years that our NIAR "did things to them". It reshaped a narrative they sculpted and decreed as unchallengable. Everything with them is about finance and us not being at any perceived big boys table. Now, with our recent Euro exploits and a potentially table-turning takeover, their mental health has taken a hit. Was listening in to a conversation between two of them this afternoon: "There's always controversy and bad blood whenever they win." - "Aye mate. Whenever we win it's peaceful." There has to be Chernobyl levels of self-denial in order to keep the fugazi ticking over. And indeed, the radioactive fall-out will be similar.

I remember my old man telling me in the 90s, the difference between Rangers and Celtic fans is that Rangers fans love their club but Celtic fans hate Rangers more than they love their club. It’s as true now as it was then. A normal club would have said “look at them celebrating on our pitch, listen to them partying in our fucking stadium. We’ll show them at Ibrox” but no….back to the victim comfort blanket! The funny thing is, that shower tell us we’re not Rangers anymore and then they blow up like that losing a fucking friendly!!! Until they’re taught a lesson they’ll keep doing it, because it runs through their club from top to bottom. It’s someone being squirted with water ffs. 🙈 I’d rather they keep any connection to Leeds United as far away as possible, because I don’t want to see fuckin half and half scarves in the Rangers Stores. I hate them as a concept, but especially if it’s Leeds United. We pumped them 32 years ago, (christ, is it really that long ago?), and they have never got over that fact. My concern is that we will see assets being stripped to play for them in the EPL. People can say they won’t do this and that, but let’s be honest they always do what they want and we have to suffer for it.
