Thanks Hoggy, my own thoughts are a mix of the all. Defo introduce some of our youngsters like Rice and Curtis to give as many minutes as possible in league. Play Cerny to allow us to enjoy him whilst he is here but limit those others likely to move on where we know we won't make any money on - Hagi (if definitely not signing) Lawrence (surely not resigning) Balogun - only in big games (I do love the big man though).

Great pod Hoggy as always. I’m missing the game because I’m going to (drum roll) the ballet. Please stop sniggering at the back. It started as a personal gift but my big mouth has added professional links in. I now need to figure a way of following or even listening to the game without anyone knowing. We’re 100% going to win and score spectacular goals as I keep a poker face in a very reserved setting.

I’d love Gerrard to return. I think he’d feel he had unfinished business

I'm torn on Gerrard. To walk out the way he did was classless. He can't be allowed to bring Beale back. 55 gives us romanticism about the period he was manager IMO. Our best performances in Europe since he left have been using tactics Gerrard would never have employed. I'd be prepared to access Barry's performance at the end of the season before making the decision. Surely Andrew Kavanagh has been influenced on Barry as manager after attending Fenerbahce and feeling that atmosphere. Let's wait and see.

Crazy theory time, Gerrard gets brought back as manager, does the job for 2-3 seasons, does all the things you mentioned (raising standards etc) then moves upstairs and takes on an executive/figurehead role, what do you think Hoggy? Am I barking or could this be a possibility?
