I'd rather have 10 team league with no split. I've always felt the 12 team setup allows the league manipulate the games after the split, with having to play some teams 3 times away from home. It's not equal or fair IMO.

Happy to play Diomande and Souttar v Hibs as they are suspended for Europe but I’d play the fringe players with a view to being able to give it 100% on Thursday

A 10 team league again was never going to happen This was put out to the media so fans wouldn’t speak about the news coming from the other side of the city….Just like the game postponed if a club gets to the championship league play off …

14 team league. Split after 26 games into top 6/bottom 8. Guarantees 4 OF … 36 game season.

Kev Roberts

Definitely go back to 10 team league for me. The split is pish And leave the league cup alone

Pedro

Better to think of the split as creation of two separate leagues, and A and a B. Rearrange current 42 teams over 4 leagues in to new senior setup with 3 leagues of 14/16/16 teams (adding 4 to make 46) 14 team top flight: Play every team home and away (26 games). Split to top 6 and bottom 8. Adds more games for teams in the lower half who don't have same congestion issues. Keeps the mandatory 4 OF needed for TV. Gets rid of the 3/1 nonesense with the split currently as you'd always play teams same number of home as you do away. ...also would expect 2nd tier with 16 teams and third tier with 16. More teams needed: can come from lowland, from highland or colts places Go to tender with the TV deal instead of the lazy option of renewing with the current provider. Promote the game properly by playing to the strengths: e.g. raw, passionate, league without the tourist fans seen in other parts of the UK. Think outside the box

14 team league is the only sensible option. Split after 26 as others have said, then either 6/8 or 7/7 and ensure there is an even volume of home/away games which there isn't currently. Going to a 10 is a backwards step and in reality only going to an 18 team league allows the split to be removed and there just isn't enough full time teams in Scotland for that and the money gets spread too thin. We need to look at the league cup and whether it's viable to scrap it, or whether it could be optional for those participating in European competition. I think looking at a summer football season should be looked at too. I'm sure some of these opinions will be unpopular but Scottish football needs a shake up.

Guys, this ten team reconstruction nonsense is no more than deflection tactics to divert conversation away from the Celtic Boys Club abuse case. It's as simple as that.

All excellent suggestions especially summer football. Rangers want us to buy home kits. Eh, when can you wear it? The first league game and maybe the last if you're lucky! Would love to go to games in June and July not the NINE or TEN in December!

My idea for league has long been 2 top divisions of 12, splitting into 3 divs of 8 after 22 games. Means 36 games. Mid division would take account of league placings at split - team that was 4th in 2nd div starts on 0 points, 3rd team on 2 points, 2nd on 4 etc. For Rangers, should mean more churn in which teams are in opening top 12 division, and so more variety. Teams at bottom of league of 8 might have more freedom, so play young players. Middle 8 should be exciting. Teams like St J might see relegation as less threatening - more likely to get back up. Teams like Dunfermline, Raith have more chance of promotion than they currently do. Biggest barrier is probably needs Scottish League and SPFL to merge - which would be a good thing if they agreed to it, but they wouldn't.
