I’m not sure we can really go overboard about what has happened with Cortes because there was nothing to flag up when we signed him. He has just gotten injured playing for us. Sometimes it’ shuts bad luck, and to be honest he’s the only one from Koppen’s signings who’ve been this way. They aren;t all massive hits, but most have contributed this season. The issue was signing so many young players, but that was as far as the budget would stretch apparently. The damage to Clement’s time in charge was done in the previous tow years to him joining, and he stood little chance trying to challenge for the league with a fresh faced group of players with little knowledge of the game here. It’s was a bit of naivety that got him into trouble, and he paid the price for it. Ferguson has done very little since being in the door that Clement wouldn’t have got from the players. In fact, the team would be more disciplined had he stayed. Barry is too raw as a person to hold the position of Rangers manager. He is divisive, of course, but he hasn’t;t been terrible either. I’d say he’s been average and sent the wrong messages to the players without realising it.Body language telegraphs a lot of things unsaid and I see that on the sidelines too much from him. He needs to calm down and let others get animated on his behalf. He needs to be the one projecting calm but energetic, not erratic and frustrated. I’m probably the wring person to ask about replica strips, because I haven;t bought one for a number of years now. For what it’s worth, I’m fed up with the whole retro thing. We’ve not seen anything new and original from a Rangers strip in decades, and they should be looking forward not back because our future should be about moving the needle, not getting bogged down in nostalgia. Think about the next strip after Souness’s first season. It was different, forward looking and original for a football top. We hadn’t seen a cycling top style before, and we really need some originality again, not making our age group feel better about remembering what it was like to win tittles every year. We need to move forward, but again, that;s just one persons opinion, and many will be happy to wallow in past memories. I just want to move things forward.
