John Palmer

I watched the Defoe interview on Open Goal last night and he said something that is so basic and should always be how a Team plays "Get the Ball up to the Match Winners as quickly as possible. Defenders are taking too much time on the Ball and are taking too many touches". It's a basic thing but he's 100% correct. Everyone is trying to play out from the Back these days which for Me, is absolute Suicide as this is where most of the mistakes happen. Defenders trying to act like Attackers but more often than not, get done and have the Ball taken off them. Now I know Martin is one for Playing out from the Back but, I hope he really drills the Defenders to move the Ball quickly and get it to the Match Winners.

Also Gary Neville said it best (about EPL getting duller) - ‘nobody pays money to watch your centre-halves pass to each other’.
