The Hamper has had a Takeover! No, not that Takeover...

James steps in for Ian this week to go over some questions posed by the listeners on the eve of Rangers returning to competitive action this coming week. We mainly looked at the state of the squad, and the areas that still need bought for. Other topics included:

  • Why we are so bad at selling?

  • Which youngsters have the best chance of making it?

  • A bit of reconstruction chat.

The 16 Team League has been discussed and thrown about for over about 40 yrs. The problem is, the SFA/SPFL choose to ignore it and Pander to the extremely poor TV deals which seems to dictate our game. My dream for the 16 Team Lge would be, play each other twice, spilt into top 8 and bottom 8. 2 Teams get relegated outright and the Championship, Lge 1 and 2 adopt the EFL system of Playoffs with 2nd - 5th playoff and go to Hampden for a big final. It brings more excitement and more money to our game. It's so simple and easy but it's clearly ignored by the powers at be. Until they change and somebody steps in with some imagination, then it's business as usual and we're left with a boring game in Scotland

My view would be League, Scottish Cup and then a British Cup to replace the League Cup
