In this episode of PsycholoGers James and Alex are joined by Martyn Ramsay to discuss and break down the psychology of protest, inspired by the recent mobilisation of supporters before the Hibs game. Dr. Alex and Martyn are invited to answer and discuss questions such as:

What drives people to protest?

How does one disgruntled fan become thousands standing outside the doors of Ibrox stadium?

What makes a protest successful?

Thank you to all who contributed to such a busy and vibrant comments section last time out - we would love to invite you to the same again, as it is clear that this has been such a hot topic in the past week.

Looking further ahead, in the next episode (to be released during the next international break), James and Alex will be hosting their first 'Heart and Health' episode, inviting all listeners to submit their questions, concerns and humourous calls for help to their favourite Agony Aunt's for discussion, guidance and hopefully a few laughs too. Make it Rangers related, stress-management tactics, positive psychological hacks, emotional regulation, and any other challenges with your wellbeing that you may wish to seek friendly guidance on. Feel free to use the comments section below, reply to or DM the @Psychologers account on 'X', or email james@jcdcoaching.com - you are also welcome to submit anonymously, should that be preferred by visiting this link:

Until then, thank you for listening!

Everytime I think the limit has been reached on Rangers themed pods, you guys pull a rabbit out of a hat and generate another phenomenal series. Morphing the series to consider fans mental health is very commendable and I have great respect for you lads doing that. Don't ever under estimate the impact these pods all have on listeners mental health. Speaking personally from 2020 to 2022 I was unable to walk due to spinal injuries and surgeries delayed from lockdown. Listening to Heart & Hand to pass the time was a great help in those dark days, and in truth after a shitty result listening to a carpod and being part of a discussion afterwards can be like a group therapy session. The people who make this community helped me. I'm on the other side of it now, but up until those 2 years I took mental health for granted. Well done and keep up the great work. 👏

That's amazing, Jim. I'll be revisiting this comment as part of that show 👏

This was an excellent listen gents! As a former fan activist who’s fried his nut over these last 10 years with it all at different points I found it thought provoking in the right way. Great listen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
