Just got the chance to catch up with this pod Craig Moore is Muscats agent so given where we are in the negotiations surely Thelwell or Stewart have sat face to face with Moore as he’s based in Glasgow and told him we want the deal done asap and we are not prepared to wait until 22 November It’s shit or get off the pot time for Muscat now Does he want the job now or not Paying compensation is fine but not if we have to wait until 22 November It’s now or we say we won’t wait Issue is i bet Thelwell doesn’t have anyone else in the mix

I think it was Mike Tyson who said “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”. That feels like what’s happened with the takeover. If Russel Martin hadn’t been a complete and utter failure it would have given the new owners time, instead they have been getting punched in the face on a weekly basis from the start of the season. They look to Gerrard as a “leader” given their statement and (likely) realise that a leader with Thelwell and Stewart will quickly end in more problems particularly as the fans would have united behind Gerrard rather than the ownership on any issues of contention. So they look at Rohl, but likely think fans won’t accept it so…to Muscat who probably is the right mix of things. Ex Ranger (who won a treble) and knows what the club was before 2012 unlike Martin, plays attacking football, has won titles and trophies (unlike Martin), probably strong enough to lead Rangers but doesn’t have the clout with the fans (yet..) to immediately go in two footed on Thelwell et all. It also means that any success Muscat has the new ownership can rightly claim as theirs too. Even if Gerrard had come in and got us winning I think the fans would have attributed that to Gerrard rather than new ownership. Anyhoo, let’s see if Muscat gets over the line or not.
