April 2011 saw the off-field horror engulf us even further. Prospective bidders began to line up but so did the authorities as a transfer embargo was handed out. On the field, Rangers put in a couple of good performances but were soundly beaten at Parkhead.

Join David, Stuart and Rob as they continue to chronicle Ally McCoist's time as the Rangers boss.

With every episode it is clear that subconsciously my brain has been protecting me. I can remember games from the early 60s right through to the present but I genuinely can’t remember the events that this series covers. I guess it is time now to face up to the pain.

Sell out Saturday? 😂🤣 Irony being only one club was selling out their stadium... Us!! They absolutely revelled in our troubles and tried to polish the turd that was life without us, they couldn't sell out a stand let alone a stadium and the Tims????.... Closing tiers in their stands to save money due to falling attendances, lack of interest and the fact their fans live, breathe and exist to obsess over one club... RANGERS!! And this is the crux of their hatred of us because 'they tried to destroy us' and we just mobilized and in spite of them and our troubles we backed our club to the hilt and stayed true as a support, it galvanised us, we absolutely bankrolled the lower league teams and gave them a cash boost they could only dream of, same goes for the economy of every town we visited. Now, the downside was we were filling the pockets of absolute charlatans who were robbing our club blind and stifling the rebuild, but it highlighted to people like Dave King that our club had a fanbase that would not wither and desert our beloved club in its time of need, so we gritted our teeth, took our medicine and fought back....we survived, we flourished. This eats our enemies up, they played their ace and we still defeated them, we are here in spite of them and they cannot stand the fact that they gave us their best shot and failed. Anytime they level that new club and you're no Rangers anymore pish I just laugh and smile and let them know that even in our darkest days we stuck by our club, two minutes after we were in the third division most of these fannies were spending their Saturdays anywhere but in a football stadium, no interest in their team or whatever game was being played. Why? Because it always has been 100% all along about one thing and one thing only... It's all about the Rangers ❤️

Aribo hovered around Witsel for much of the first leg so it isn't inconceivable that Aribo would be given the responsibility to get close to Bellingham.

Rod

Was positive hoggy would make a triumphant return to the series. Hopefully eventually he does.

I guess, I just view this as another episode of the main thread going back to 1998.

Agree re Andy Little should have had a prominent role up until promotion anyway

Laura McCrimmon

Completely agree about Andy little, I think he could have been used alot more for us and did well for us when given the chance. He was also our son Lucas's favourite player at the time (he was 4 at this point) and we commented on a twitter post of us saying how he was gutted he couldn't buy a signed picture of him from the club shop he replies asking for his name and address and 2 weeks later a signed photo arrived for him. Andy is a lovely guy.

bit late to the party but here goes , Rangers not being there was never in doubt for me plenty examples of smaller clubs in England surviving ( Portsmouth Coventry City Leeds United ) so it was just a case of what division for me but the hate from online fans you just knew it wouldn't be in top tier , my mate ( Season ticket holder ) his wife has a season ticket with them and even she before anything had happened was saying " they can't put Rangers out of the league because it just wont be the same " ..... where as i was saying to her that i thought Scottish football hates itself as much that this is the route they'll go down ................ ps i will never ever understand why we played McCulloch at centre half in seasons to come when his position was upfront , i turned from a fan to like how David feels about Whittaker on him
