Good show lads. Ross, I’m not sure I understood your point about the ruled-out goal? I wasn’t aware there was any doubt the decision was incorrect? Just wondering if I missed something.

Another comparable Euro success that no one mentioned is when we beat Leeds Utd home and away to qualify us for the first ever season Champions League groups in 1992/93 season - which essentially got us into last 8 as was only 2 groups of 4 in that inaugural season. Leeds were Champions of England and no one had beaten them at Elland Road in about 2 years. When the first leg at Ibrox finished 2-1 for us, the English media did their usual and completely wrote us off. They felt that Leeds away goal and Leeds home record made the second match a formality. I do think the atmosphere at this weeks Dortmund match was more electric- maybe because of the tension of it being the 2nd leg and also the large and noisy following of the away fans (Leeds ties of course had no official away fans at either match although we know a few bears did sneak into Elland Road). Terrific night on Thursday!!!

My only criticism of Jack last night was that he should've made a cynical foul in the lead up to their 1st goal - just like Lundstrum did minutes later.

There's apparently (and I've no idea if it's true) a rule that you can't interfere with someone playing the ball. So the story is going that Can was in the process of kicking the ball and Alfie's leg gets between his leg and the ball but Alfie isn't playing the ball with that leg, that's impeding the opponent from playing the ball without playing it yourself Again, I've absolutely no idea if that is true, but I wish I did because I agree 100% with Ross Would love Cammy or Linwood's Rose to do a quick five minute pod to explain it for us

Beating Dortmund I'm the Uel is Iike Derby county beating Man City in the FA cup these days. I shouldn't happen and its massive news when it does. Stevie G wouldn't of made that tactical change at half time, he would have done, as David said, moved Bassey to LB and brought Balogun on and gone with the same shape

Battle of Britain was in my lifetime but sadly before my Rangers memory kicks in but by all accounts was an absolute cracker I'd say the Overlord's point on financial disparity applies there too though - we were probably something like par with Leeds in spending power so the challenge was not as monumental as Dortmund

Hey mate, yeah I had no idea this was a rule myself until yesterday I'll be totally honest (or I've certainly not to my mind seen it applied this way). When I seen the goal back leaving the stadium I was absolutely furious but apparently this is the rule and why it got ruled out: 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 "Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the opponents path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player. All players have a right to their position on the field of play; being in the way of an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent" Like I said, it's frustrating because you look at that (especially the angle behind) and it doesn't feel like a foul at all, if anything it feels as though Can fouls Alfie. I'd never want to see that given as a foul in a million years but the laws an ass 🤷‍♂️

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6r85jxtbpro Thanks man have you a link to that from an official source I have heard someone on Twitter mention this . I thought AM played the ball as he stepped into the space between Hummel and the ball but I’m not certain on that now . I must try and see it again .

Reading that definition, I'm even more confused :D "when the ball is NOT within playing distance" Clearly the ball WAS within playing distance of Can, because he was trying to play it! Also, "moving into the opponent's path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction" doesn't seem to obviously apply here (to me). Can wasn't trying to go anywhere so he certainly wasn't blocked/slowed down/changed direction. Again I'm too ignorant of the rules of the game to know the exact definition of obstruction but my understand was that was more about stopping someone moving somewhere to get to the ball I'm just glad the discussion is (mostly) academic
