I feel absolutely gutted today. That was a chance to apply serious pressure and instead we give them an adrenaline shot. David, good question on McGregor. There was a corner in the first half where the ball was about a foot off his line and even then he seemed reluctant to come for it. We got a free kick in the end but he is a serious weakness and I can't see how we win the title with McGregor in goal. No time for sentiment. McLaughlin needs to play.

Brian Rae

I'm not going to lie, David. The response to those questions by the manager has annoyed me. This isn't the time for him to double down and save face, yet, if he persists with McGregor and playing Arfield etc non stop, he'll lose the title, the fans and his job.

Alexander Laird

Glad that Gio has questioned the refereeing this time. If he still wants to be in his job here this time next year however then he must bite the big one and drop Alan McGregor. We all love shagger but he's done and it's no coincidence our defensive shambles today. Rant over..😂

Sandy Fraser

That press conference has got me even more worried. Clearly in denial that there’s a consistency problem.

Aatlis

Can't listen to Gio "erm" his way through the press conference. It makes my ears bleed.

Andrew Finlayson

He should’ve been dropped a while ago. He’s been dreadful this season bar a few games. a better goalkeeper keeps a clean sheet today, a better goal keeper doesn’t cost us goals in several games in injury time this season and he’s been at fault for other goals. Sentimentality is going to cost us £ 30 million.

Alan Cowan

Listening to Tavernier he just mentioned about finishing chances nothing about his god awful pathetic defensive performance. Nothing like passing the buck.

Ryan Stewart

Not great answers from either tbh, pretty worried after listening to that. Can’t question the mentality after beating Dortmund? I’d say the fact we can beat Dortmund but can’t then beat Dundee Utd or Motherwell means we are absolutely right to question their mentality.

Alexander Laird

I'm really not sure about Gio . Playing Scott Arfield (much as I love him) from the start again when it's obvious to everyone that his game time needs managed. Leaving Alex Lowry on the bench unused - again. Persisting with McGregor. Non use of subs when the opposition had made three at h/t. Ooft another rant over - thanks folks🥰!

Mike Black

Disappointed in the Gio and Tav replies. It is 100% a mentality issue. As for MacGregor I have made my position clear. He needs dropped to the bench, for his own sake as much as for the defensive unit. We as a club should not be playing a 40 year old goal-keeper particularly since we have a international goalie sitting on the bench.

Martyn I know we aren't worse off... We should be better off.

Craigieboy 1872

And one less game to gain ground and leapfrog the, very poor, league Leaders..... We need the League... The Money from the Champions league... To Fund a Major rebuild..... 🙄😳

Steve23

Ok then, apparently everything is fine, just a few wee tweaks here and there and everything will be ok. Listening to the responses in that press conference leaves me even more angry and concerned. Good questions by the way Martin and David. Edited to add - do any of the H&H team know why Ramsey and Davis were not in the squad today?

Everyone in the stadium could see the performance level drop as the 2nd half went on it was crying out for changes to be made . Then when they scored their first goal the doubt was in our players heads , how come the fans can sense it but the manager can't.

BlueJay

Whatever happened to “keeping the zero.” We were told that was the most important thing by gio when he first came in. Now he’s tinkering with the defence constantly. It’s not good for continuity.

Gary Shaw

I don’t think our general play is that bad, quite slick at times actually but 60 shots in our last 2 league games and 3 goals to show for it with 1 of them being an OG is grim reading…and at the other end our shots against to goals scored must be embarrassing…Maybe there’s a statto that could tell me but McGregor must surely be near the top of the list for worse goalie in the league….that’s a sentence I never thought I would say

Robert Atkinson

Little option to keep playing the same players. He clearly doesn’t trust Ross Wilson’s purchases

Andrew

Love the guy but this has been irritating me a lot recently too! Doesn't inspire confidence

Rona Bluebell

I moaned to a colleague today about our form and MacGregor (she knows a little about football) and she said her 12 year old daughter’s team got beat 18-0 at the weekend and she’s the goalie. So it could be worse!

George Harrison

You’re spot on with the shots to goals conceded ratio. Greegsy is a legend but his role in the 2 goals conceded yesterday was embarrassing. McLaughlin deserves his chance …. he’s a good shot stopper too, and with the added bonus that he comes off his line to collect simple crosses !
