Don't know about anyone else, but my frustration at the Roofe sub wasn't that he was coming on, or even that it was for Alfie. It was more that there looked to be others (aribo and Kent in particular) who looked utterly done in and when a goal was needed I think supporters were expecting one of those to be taken off, particularly when I expect both to be heavily relied on for Thursday With that said, I'm happy to be wrong - and delighted for Roofe. Think he (along with a few others) have earned more minutes on the park

I thought Kent looked more dangerous 2nd half with Bassey on the overlap. I was surprised that Aribo finished 90 mins again because he was really poor today. I was frustrated that it took so long to make the call for Roofe, and although I agree with Martyn that Roofe and Morelos don't seem to complement each other, we need to find a way to get out biggest goal threats on the pitch.

Feels like a huge goal, but so did Arfield's goal against Livingston and we ballsed up the next game after that. Let's see what happens.

Similarly I expected Aribo or Kent to come off and was a little surprised Ramsey wasn’t given some minutes at around 70mins in as it looked like Gio called him over but he’s the boss for a reason. Fully expected McGregor to be rested today though and get some minutes in to McLauchlin.

Glad we have a couple of weeks before the next league game. A couple of positive results in the cups could inspire some new ideas and the league form could pick up from there.

With five subs available, is it almost worth saying to Helander/Balogun "give me 45 mins each a game" to keep Bassey out on the left? If one/both go down injured then can still bring Bassey into the middle and bring Borna on so we're no worse off than starting that way but give ourselves a potential upside
