Question for David: Do you know of any dialogue being opened from the board, regarding the “Ange Ball World Tour”? With yourselves or any other outlet?

Brian Moore

Thanks pal. Thought I would ask. 👍🏼

Excellent pod. Really enjoyed it. Cannot emphasise enough that Celtic have no moral compass. Zero, zilch, nada. No partnership outside of legal obligations. I remember people saying McCoist and Johnson couldn’t play together, and needed to be one or other with Hateley (going way back here) but I think similar (ish) players can spark well together and often they did. It’s them finding their own groove together.

Just out of curiosity see when you paid for your media pass it included a interview with the manager and a player does the club just tell you when you get access to the them or can you request a date

PR__92

Aww ok thanks for letting me know and do you just get given a player

Lots of folk at the game on Saturday were saying the Tims are actually earning more from this Aussie Abomination than we are?, if true that boils my piss even more about this whole shitshow. 😡

The TiVo was clever, how they had something you wear all game. Hopefully more of this going forward. I’d like to see something from the club supporting Ukraine, because there hasn’t been much from us on that. We need to step up there, because it’s been prominent in the EPL. The friendly has been an unmitigated disaster. It could’ve been predicted it would be, and that’s what I find so surprising. I get it from the money side, but they should’ve insisted there would be equal share of the money. I could well believe they negotiated a higher fee, and that sticks in the throat. What we need to do is an insistence on distancing our brand from them while we are over there, and telling everyone in Australia that we want nothing to do with them because of theiri historic cases that re going through the courts right now. The fact they used the tournament to shift the focus should be something the tournament organisers know about. I’m not sure they will be too pleased. We could always get the bears in Oz to complain about them being in the tournament and go for sabotaging the thing. Then there would be no issue come the time.

I think a week down the line, I must say I've changed my mind a fair bit on the friendly in Australia. Initially, I was purely thinking about the income and probably just wrote off the last 10 years of their behaviour. I hadn't really took notice of the marketing either. I don't know how this resolves, but I'm all for picking the right times to protest this and ultimately, get the decision reversed.

Here's my point on the Alfie substitution. I was actually groaning at the change when Alfie went off, because Alfie was strolling off slowly, and we needed to get the change done and get on with it. I was surprised with the aftermath and the suggestion the booing was because we were taking him off.. personally I was happy at him coming off because he was having a poor game. You can always tell with Alfie from the first few minutes whether he is on a game or not.

David Marshall asked “there’s got to be a reason the performances in Europe are night and day” questions like many “is it a mentality thing?” I think we all need to give the SPFL clubs a bit more credit. 11 full time professionals who all week before they play us, work on how to spoil and nullify our game. They concentrate on 1 thing. Defending. It’s far easier to only have to defend than it is to do both and attempt transitions into attacking. These fit, strong, hungry and often experienced full time professionals see this game against us as a cup final, as a chance to rejuvenate their season or a chance to put themselves in the shop window. It’s simply not easy to perform at your fullest week in week out when your up against this sort of challenge. The low block, the spoiling, the bodies on the line and the horrible narrow pitches when away from home. It’s just not easy and too many rangers fans take this far too lightly and have a very unrealistic expectation that we should be hammering teams week in week out. Every year I notice the standard of our league improving and theirs only so far both rangers and Celtic can ever progress before our best players move to the English league or big European leagues. So while other teams improve rangers and Celtic improve in peaks and troughs. When in Europe, we get space, we get time, we get to be more creative and expansive and we can play much more positively and attractively. We get to play on our terms in Europe. We enjoy it and revel in it. It suits us. I think there is an unhealthy, unrealistic and uneducated opinion amongst many of our supporters that is only going to result in you being constantly disgruntled. The scottish league is no easy ride at all. It deserves a lot more credit than we give it.

What we must be wary off, and I am sure Gio and the team will be, is that Dundee will try and kick us off the park. The make up of their team and the new manager will be obsessed with doing their part for rasellik.Much like their board of directors.

Graeme McLeod

I don't think we need to give it that much more credit than Rangers fans already do. No, it's not the farmer's league that English pundits, players and fans believe, but equally we more often than not play teams that are set up to defend with ten men and settle for a draw. While I can understand why they do that, I don't think that's evidence that the standard is high.

The guy next to me said the last time we scored, a header from a corner in the league was against Celtic!! I have racked my brain and can't come up with anything different! Europa League yeah, Balogun, Cup yeah Helander but other than that I can't remember another in the league at all!!

Rose Mcloughlin

I am nervous but still think we will win this years league..but would prefer to enjoy it more...last year was our dream...now its down to bread and butter wins .
