When did Kate Nash change her name to Regina Spektor? Sounds good though, another one to add to the list to check out 👌🙂

JM

Parents who take their kids begging should be referred to social services.

Campbell Maclennan

Ian McMo, Great Grandfather!!!? Congratulations mate... What a guy, hope you're well. Campbell

Charles McIntyre

I'm unhappy with the board. If I do decide to let them know why I'm unhappy I'm sure as hell not going to do something which more than likely will harm the Club, the Team and me to get my point across.

Douglas Wright

Not a popular opinion here but best way to stop the singing is to temporarily Ban all fans at an away game from going to any of the next 10 away games. Yes it punishes those who haven't done anything but should put sufficient pressure on the idiots that do sing they might think twice about it.

Mark Harvey

I had someone on twitter earlier comment they'd happily play behind closed doors for the rest of the season if it meant the friendly was cancelled. They don't care.

Leslie White

The singing the ultimate punishment from the Board would be refusal of away tickets, still wouldn’t stop it at Ibrox however as said we are leaving ourselves wide open to some form of punishment that would be thoroughly enjoyed by the Haters of the club. As for the Oirish Ditties they will continue so long as we are ruled over by a Republican Government/Football Authorities. Most Supporters at times have sung the now banned songs, yet whether it be maturity of age, have seen the fact that it brings harm to the Club and stopped singing them, maybe it’s time there was some growing up.

Mark Harvey

The thing I find really concerning is how quickly some fans have resorted to returning to these songs. It suggests they only ever stopped singing them because they were asked to do so rather than realising some of them are absolutely moronic and bigoted.

Colin

Check out her song “Us” it’s great. She also did the theme to Orange is the new Black “You’ve got Time” she is really good.

Douglas Wright

They do more reputational damage to the club with their singing than any friendly ever will. Banners and sign show your friendly up your arse all they like but as soon as they brought out that songbook they lost any chance of the board listening to them and taking them seriously and probably lost alot of support for their protests from plenty of unhappy fans but ones who dont want the club to suffer because of their actions

Ross Adair

Seen the lovely Regina upstairs at the Barfly in 2004, there were maybe 50 other folk there, it was magic!

Tom McDavid

Concerning thing about the singing is there seem plenty that are delighted with the return of such songs, and somehow your less of a fan of you are against them being sung.

Heart and Hand

I sung them at their age. Have to be honest. I know times have changed but the rebellious factor is definitely in play.

PR__92

Albeit it's got worse since the Sydney club but Billy boys was sung away at Dundee Utd so let's not pretend it's just that. I've no respect for the UB assuming they are the ones leading the singing aye they might jump about for 90 mins and get people to hold up bits of paper but there is no excuse to be sectarian in 2022 I would rather Ibrox/away ends being a library than a place full of hatred

John McMillan

Spotify randomly suggested her to me a few years ago and she's tremendous. Samson, Blue lips, and folding chair are all favourites of mine.

Greg

Let's be honest the "protest" is a convenient excuse for some of our fans. I'm not going to be a hypocrite, I know all the words and have sung all the songs at some point but they have no place at games anymore. You want to sing them? Sing in your own house/hall/bus.

Steve Clark

I am not defending some of the songs sung yesterday but the vast majority of songs sung yesterday were about rangers.i always feel a wee bit uneasy having a go when I sang the same songs and worse in my almost 50 years of going to see rangers.our songbook has cleaned up massively since the 80’s/90’s whilst it’s not perfect by a long shot it’s improved massively from those days.to be fair to the UB’s they have introduced a load of Rangers songs and yesterday they were singing the classic “Glasgow Rangers story”.

Stephen

100%. They are in a privileged position already being able to get a ticket for the match. Lots of kids won’t even get to see these games on tv. It’s an embarrassment sending your kids out to do that and it puts the players in a no win situation.

Mark Harvey

Most of them don't bother me. But singing 'no pope of rome' when our team is littered with catholics seems particularly stupid.

Andrew Neil

The Australia friendly is a convenient excuse for some. Depressing stuff sitting in the away end yesterday, loads of folk loving it. You don't become sectarian because your club did something you disagree with. Honestly, just go out of your way to identify and ban people who sing the songs. Fed up of it.

PR__92

Fair play to them then I was only assuming that because they seem to start every other song I thought that was their job during a game. The fact of the matter is the singing is not right there is kids in the stands could you imagine having to explain what they meant or what a peado is if they asked you?

Rona Bluebell

Reading some of the comments on Twitter is jaw dropping. Some muppet said the team’s performance has improved since the songs started up so it’s been beneficial. Aye, like the mostly catholic team got a wee inspirational boost there. These idiots couldn’t spell Mensa let alone be in it.

Gordon Bell

Quite simply, the songbook has to change On the topic of shirts its good that kids have players whose shirts they want

Heart and Hand

It had changed. That’s the problem, it will always be reached for when fans are annoyed and I’m not sure what the solution is.

Gordon Bell

I agree David, and can't understand why there are people who are so hell bent on causing issues for the club

Charles McIntyre

I'm a fan and I'm annoyed but the last thing I would do is something I KNOW will harm the Club I love. It's not just fans in general it's a certain group of fans.

Tamus

Jump about and hold bits of paper??? Srsly?? Without the UB ibrox would be like a morgue - what a massive assumption you have made about those starting songs - i suppose they are an easy scapegoat for you. Youve unfairly made them your boggie man. Their efforts at the recent Aberdeen game was legendary.

Martin Davies

Not sure it you'll touch on it in the Flagship later, but the empty stands yesterday really annoyed me. I was fortunate to be at the game but '000s of bears were not as lucky and would have been watching on TV despite '000s of empty seats. I don't have an issue with the size of the fan base at other clubs, or indeed their decision on whether to attend games or not. Those clubs need to cut their cloth accordingly. Where I do have a very big problem is when these clubs refuse to sell tickets to Rangers fans and yet complain about the cost of VAR, cost of full time refs or the cost of maintaining a grass pitch. These should be basic requirements for our top division. I'm sick of hearing these clubs bleat about money whilst they refuse to fill empty seats in their grounds. Get VAR in now, make our referees full time and ban plastic pitches from the top tier Every club can afford this. They just need to stop being narrow minded and buckling under the pressure of a few dozen moaning supporters.

KMS

Kate Nash's last album had a fantastic back cover 😉

KMS

Refusing away tickets won't work, actual banning folk for years or for life will. I hate this 'friendly' situation, I despise the scum, but this idiotic protest is hurting the clubs reputation and proving to be a sideshow that is detracting from supporting the team. Target the board as they arrive at games, target them with Banners ABOUT THEM during games, sing songs ABOUT THEM during games, stage a protest outside the main doors after the games. Don't drag us back decades with a songbook that had its time, place and day longer ago than weans begging for shirts were even born. We will only lose with the current protest, a stand being shut, fines we could be better spending on disabled facilities ffs. Screw the nut and fight the good fight with intelligence, not belligerence and ignorance.

David Millar

Hard on the heels of the songbook having been weaponised against us for decades and our having made great strides to eradicate it as a major issue some of our own supposed fans have weaponised it against the club as an act of self-harm.

Steve Clark

Yes that one,it’s one of my favorite rangers songs and I loved hearing it yesterday

Graham Jones

Those songs need to stop. There are more serious and important things happening in the world at the moment. If people can’t realise how they are making the club look, then they have to be identified and have the ST’s removed. There’s a very large waiting list who would gladly take them over.

Jamie Gilchrist

Was not expecting this song!!!! Took me by surprise!!
