Well that's a lot more like it...

This doesn't get Gio and the players off the hook. As much as I enjoyed the game today, the season as a whole and in particular the last 2-3 months have been a slog to watch. Battering a really poor St Mirren side isn't what these players are paid handsomely to do. But hopefully this gives them a lift for Thu.

Gary Shaw

Couldn’t agree more…as much as I want us to win every game, there’s a part of me that is really pissed off at these players…playing a team that had half their first 11 out and nothing to play for,yet some of the comments on the socials are embarrassing…I could have put my house,my dug and both my weans on Aribo scoring a goal like that today….

Heart and Hand

It doesn’t change a disappointing season nor will it alter the future of individuals but fans are entitled to enjoy a victory. If you don’t want to that’s fine but if others do they pay their money to follow their team and can take pleasure in a win.

Scott lavery

We can look back and be depressed about what has happened or try to take today as them hopefully finding a new style of play that benefits Roofe. We did that today. If we can continue doing that then we can still get through to a European semi final and a Scottish cup final.

Martin Davies

Our performance and the result exceeded my expectations, and this was one of the few times this season that I have enjoyed watching Rangers. But I'm not going to forgive and forget because they beat St Mirren. Gary - Joe Aribo has fantastic talent but doesn't have the attitude and desire to make the most of it. He's a bit of a flat track bully to be brutally honest.

Gary Shaw

That’s been my main criticism of Aribo since he came here,Martin…..We’re an easily pleased bunch(sometimes),do the business in the big games ie,against them,Europe and cup finals..that’s were Rangers heroes are carved, not taking the piss out of Ross County and St Mirren

William

I would go for Borna, this could be the confidence booster he needs. I thought Bassey was all at sea on Thursday night, admittedly not helped by a hapless Balogan.

Allan Waltham

More in hope than expectation, I had us at -3 @ 6/1 and -4 @16/1. How I didn't get paid on both bets is baffling and frustrating. Still won though. :-)

Paul

Agree with you on Sakala, David. I think that's just what we are going to get. Sadly, at 25 he can't be described as young or raw. He just is what he is.

Amanda stewart

We have something we didn’t have last week😉

Ross Whitehead

Is Tav now the new Amoruso with his free-kicks?

Ross Whitehead

Brophy's stud on his heel planted onto the top of Helander's foot as he fell. He has probably broken his metatarsal, so that'll likely be his season over.

PR__92

Today we needed goals not just for the 3 points but to show themselves they don't need morelos on the downside it's time to cut ties with helander of course it's not his fault with his injuries but you can't have a CB injured most of the season every season

Alan Cowan

Sakala should be nicknamed JIGSAW. He falls apart in the box FFS

Ross Whitehead

TBH, I'd be trying to move Sakala on in the summer. He's a lovely guy, but never going to be good enough. A poor man's Novo.

Charlie Nicolson

Listening to that intro music. Is Rex still going strong?

Gary Shaw

We must have the most “if only he can stay fit” players/squad in the country….always seem to be saying it about Helander,Balogun,Ramsey,Jack,Roofe…probably add Soutar to that list soon….there must come a time were we just cut ties with a lot of those players

Adam

Sakala brings an element of the unknown to proceedings. If we were playing well and everybody was firing, his short comings would be overlooked. Scrutiny is high at the moment though.

Gary Shaw

He’s got a bit of the Nacho Novos about him…technically he’s better than Nacho but Nacho had the knack of scoring big goals in big games constantly which made you overlook his limited ability as a footballer

Doug Young

Good to see some goals and great to see some old Borna. Very poor St Mirren side but Roofe proving that with decent service, he is sharp in front of goal. Not sure any of the second string moved themselves up the manager's thoughts but also good to see Davo back and King getting a solid half.

Heart and Hand

This is a huge annoyance of mine. Players who need ‘managed’ ie can’t be expected to play 30 plus games a season. You can have a couple. We have about 8. Any player can get injured of course but I mean guys who it is so common with it is expected. As I say, one or two if they are big contributors but that’s it.

Gary Shaw

It’s so true though,David….Don’t know how many times since Jack has came back in the team were he’s been tackled or made a tackle and I’ve thought to myself,”that’ll be him out for a few weeks”…Balogun and Helander the exact same, constantly holding their groins or hammys……this is one of the reasons why I think Tav,Goldson,Kent and even Morelos divide opinion so much because they are so robust and hardly miss a game so you see them week in,week out…but the aforementioned become better players coz you hardly bloody see them

Gary Shaw

Its the reason I don’t subscribe to this notion that Helander is the “best defender at the club” talk…that accolade belongs to Goldson in my opinion….I don’t know exact stats but I don’t think Helander has played 5 games on the bounce since he’s been here…regardless of what anyone thinks of CG and his contract situation,he constantly puts his body on the line for the team and is always available

Heart and Hand

That's true. Tav, Kent and Allie too. It's why I don't like the 'they don't care/not trying' thing. They clearly do. They might play poorly but they don't ever miss out with wee mystery knocks because they don't fancy it.

Tom

David spoke about Ramseys pass for second goal but go back 5 seconds before that and look at the movement and pass from Davies...fabulous

Gary Shaw

Yip,well spotted Tom…great pass…I think it’s what the young ones call “breaking the lines”😂

Brian McLatchie

Central mid for the domestic run in, Davis and one other. A focused Barisic at this point in their careers a better left back than Bassey who has done well. There are games where Jack is a must if fit but they are not the games when we have to break down a defence packed in the last third, Lundstrum & Davis better options. GVB clearly liked Hagi, Lowrey looks like the closest like for like we have to Hagi, not sure where he is injury wise.
