Rangers were settling into the grim reality of life in Division 3 and form was still patchy. It felt surreal to start in the Scottish Cup in September but Gers at least got through. However, a shameful loss at Stirling brought it all home - this is how we were living now.

Join Dave, Rob, David and a returning Stuart as they continue to discuss Ally's time as Rangers boss.

Stirling Albion away really brought home the reality of exactly where we were. Losing to the side propping up the 3rd Div was imho as bad a defeat as we have ever had in our history (but there were a few horrors still to come). I genuinely thought with a proper professional approah with young hungry players we could win EVERY league game this season but right from the off the dreadful signings made by Ally just weren't prepared to roll up their sleeves and be professional. This season was one embarrassment after another, management and players should be ashamed of many of these dreadful performances.

Black Faure sounds like one of those German horror series on Netflix.

Steve Clark

had a few lol moments listening to this today.

Never thought a pod about that Stirling Albion match would be able to raise a smile, but you managed it with the stuff about their manager being away at his wedding. Quality.

I've said it before, but I can remember games from the 70s and 80s better than I can recall games from this period. I saw most but it's like I've just wiped them from the memory banks. I can't say it's enjoyable listening back to it but you guys managed to bring humour to something that really shouldn't be funny at all, so that was some doing. Another great pod!

Ally McCoist had shades of Craig Brown/Andy Roxburgh when it came to talking us down and talking our opposition up. Everyone saw through it though.

Painful again lads. Haven’t decided yet if that was a good idea to listen on the day we are playing in a European Semi Final. Cheers

I remember getting the Stirling Albion result at 7am, Perth, Western Australia time on my phone. Probably the lowest point. Fucking hell it was bad

David

Enough of the Cumbernauld bashing. No flumes but an Olympic sized swimming pool.

I'd forgotten just how often the Perry / Cribari partnership was the CH choice. Perry's inclusion baffled me. Watched him a lot in the youth teams of the time and both him and Danny Wilson played CH together in those youth squads which won the double two years in a row. He never had anything about him at all. Other than being big for his age at 15/16, the ability always looked severley lacking. While there were a lot of shouts about making a plan to come through the leagues with youth (and there were prospects like McLeod and McKay) it has to be remembered that, along with everything else crumbling under Murray, there was no proper set up or vision in the structure of the club right down to the youth set up. The youth department wasn't fit under Jim Sinclair to see 5, 6 or 7 boys come through and tkae first team places.
