For those of us old enough to remember a Young Jim Baxter, watching Lowry and I’m giving him a bigger compliment, he looks far more Gallis than him and more wiser than JB in footballing techniques, and he plays more up front. Been watching him come through the ranks courtesy of RTV, he from afar also looks as though it’s an old head on young shoulders.

Pumped by our B team was gold.

The last 6 leagues have been seen as glorified friendlies but the attitude, performances and results have all been impressive, despite the games straddling the European ties and cup semi-final. Also impressive is that heavy rotation (10 changes today, 7 last Sunday) hasn’t adversely affected performances. This indicates very thorough instruction and preparation by the management team. Great to see Academy players making an impact. We saw Barry Ferguson as a once in a generation talent. In the space of a few years we have had Gilmour, Patterson and now Lowry. Glad to see investment in youth development bearing fruit. It’s common knowledge that Wednesday night’s line up was the Seville starting line up (subject to recovery from injuries). I notice today the players who are just outside the first choice 11 - Arfield, Ramsey, Balogun, Diallo - got a half or an hour. Bear in mind also that we will be very lucky to be able to field the same starting lineup at Hampden as we do in Seville. A great day’s work all round.

Bear in mind the criticism of Ross Wilson this season - securing Lowry on a long term deal deserves credit. Another year for Arfield looks like a good move bearing in mind the likely changes in midfield over the summer.

Bassey looks like quite a good signing Lundstram looks no bad eh? Sakala is in double figures for the season without being a regular starter Roofe was our top scorer last season Hagi was our top assists last season McLaughlin has been such a strong understudy that nobody is especially nervous that one of our best ever keepers is (probably) about to retire Balogun has come in and been a solid option for us Sands has come in and looked extremely tidy, is already an international, and we get to have an 18 month look at him before we commit to takinghim Charlie McCann looks like an exciting prospect Tony Weston has been so prolific people have been clamouring for him to go into the first team Patterson was signed up on extended contracts, then had low-ball bids rejected until we could get a club record fee for him Some of the criticism of Ross Wilson has been absurd - and much of the criticism isn't aimed at him at all, it's a criticism of the board/CEO for not allocating more money for transfers. (Unless he gets to set his own budget for recruitment, I've no idea, but I would be amazed if that were the case)

What has happened to the polish right back we signed in January

With players signing Pre-Contracts with teams in the same league ive thought for years that if you do that you are automatically not allowed to play against the team you've have signed for takes the pressure off the clubs and player. Kind of like Loan agreements

Few of us in my area asking that on Wed vs County Looked decent enough in terrible conditions at Annan in Cup

A 'nothing game' - maybe in the greater scheme of things but definitely something to all the Rangers players who took to the field. All of them played well. Pleased with everyone. The young lads who haven't seen much / any 1st team action certainly showed us the talent, and comittment they have. Shout out for Ced the Ted. Been very ill, nice to see him back. Scored some important goals last season and looked very sharp pre-season. Lowry does just have something 'different' about him than you'd expect from an 18yr old. Excellent that he's signed a deal, look forward to seeing him get more game time. I don't see Gio, Dave Vos or management team having any fear in introducing the young guys at the proper times & managing their playing time. Its the Dutch model the rest of the football world follows.
